Welcome to Coach with Kai Meditations.
Today the intention for this meditation is to bring you to a place of complete stillness and openness by using our breath to slow down the chatter in your mind and focus on some thoughts I would like to share with you.
Thoughts on self-love,
Kindness and compassion.
This will be followed by stillness and time to go inward with a guided mantra for meditation or perhaps time to reflect on the thoughts and words as you take time out for yourself today.
If you have chosen this meditation I imagine you may be in need of some self-love and compassion so let's explore this together now.
Let's begin our practice.
Find yourself a comfortable position on a chair,
A cushion,
Wherever you are.
Make yourself as comfortable as possible making sure you feel supported wherever you've settled.
Lengthening your spine start to draw your chin slightly inwards towards your heart.
Rest your hands wherever they fall comfortably by your side or on your lap and prepare your body to go into a place of stillness and love.
A place to open and to receive.
Softly close your eyes.
Lift your shoulders up towards your ears.
Squeeze them upwards as high as you can and hold and gently release your shoulders back down.
Rolling them backward and then bringing them into a restful position.
Scan your body and feel any areas you are holding any tightness.
Perhaps it's your jaw or your forehead,
Your shoulders,
Your back.
Let go of this tension with the next inhalation.
Breathing deeply into those parts of your body allowing them to soften.
Breathe in and let it go.
Coming into a place of deep relaxation and letting this tension melt away.
Start to become aware of your breath and notice the sensation as you deeply breathe into your belly.
Feel this breath as you inhale and exhale from your belly first then from your chest and expelling all the air and tension in your body.
Breathe in and let it go.
Give yourself permission to be fully present here now.
There is nowhere else you need to be.
This gift is yours right now.
Embrace it fully.
Inhale and exhale.
I was recently reminded in life that we truly only have ourselves to count on for the deepest love and compassion we often give to others but sometimes not to ourselves.
We might look to others for acknowledgement,
A comforting word,
For a sense of someone believing in us or for validation particularly in times when we are feeling vulnerable.
We are often confronted in life with challenging situations that may emotionally trigger us.
It could spiral us into our own inner words of self-judgment if we have felt misunderstood,
Angered by what we've experienced and what we've perceived has happened.
We may turn that inward and feel a sense of not being good enough,
Not living up to others expectations or our own selves and we might let that negative chatter in our minds take over.
These negative words,
Where do they come from for you?
Are they your words or perhaps someone in the past,
Someone who has been critical of you,
Someone you looked up to,
That you believed in?
If these are your words,
How do you know that they are true?
Are these words part of a pattern that you go into,
That you have told yourself in the past when things have become challenging in life?
Do you find yourself struggling to quieten these words and give yourself permission to feel all that you're feeling?
Know it's okay and be your own best friend.
In these moments when you are feeling most vulnerable,
You have a choice to listen to the negative voice.
We can decide to be our own champion.
We get to choose which voice we will listen to.
No one in this world has the power to tell you how to act or feel,
How good or bad you are at something,
How well you did or didn't perform in whatever scenario.
Only you have a true understanding of yourself,
The wisdom of who you are at your core,
To be your own champion,
Particularly in these moments.
Often during these times we might try to numb our feelings with pain,
Loneliness,
Perhaps feeling like we don't belong or taking on comments that others have thoughtlessly thrown our way,
That have lodged in our soul and echoed in our mind over and over.
We need to make the time to go inward and sit with what is,
How we are feeling and tell ourselves it is okay,
It will be okay and give ourselves love and compassion.
You have the ability and the power to build yourself up,
To welcome feedback.
This is an opportunity to grow or choose to let go of that which does not resonate with you,
To let go of the negative self-talk.
If it's not true for you in that moment,
You can simply let it go.
When we afford ourselves the love and compassion we deserve,
We can stop trying to please others,
Trying to be someone that we're not,
Living our lives from a place of fear instead of acceptance.
Acceptance that we are perfectly imperfect,
Just the way we are.
Often we are our own worst critic.
Be the one that offers that soothing voice of kindness and love,
To be your own voice of encouragement.
Have empathy,
Forgiveness and love.
If you are constantly using language that assumes the worst of yourself or that reminds you of the list of all the things you've done wrong,
It may become all-consuming.
You have the power to change the language and how you communicate with yourself and come from a place of self-love and compassion.
And when you do,
You'll start to notice how your outlook will change,
To one of positiveness and you'll become aware of how the rest of the world will begin to change also.
There is no one in the world that can be a greater supporter for you than yourself.
It is only when we learn how to tap into the inner wisdom in these moments to be our own best friend,
To treat ourselves with love and kindness.
We can let go of the fear and doubt and know that this moment will pass and mindfully let it be and let it go.
Imagine if someone you genuinely love were to come to you and explained their loneliness,
Sadness,
Misjudgment and the way they were feeling.
What would you say to them?
These now form the words you tell yourself going forward.
This needs to be the kindness and forgiveness and self-talk we give to ourselves,
The voice that lets us know it's okay to feel this way.
You are not alone.
You tried your best and if not,
You have the opportunity to grow from this experience and perhaps try a unique way when presented with a similar scenario in the future.
Taking a moment now to reflect on these words,
Ask yourself how you have been speaking to yourself lately.
Has it been positive and encouraging,
Kind,
Sincere and supportive or has it been negative about all the things you've done wrong?
Has it been what you would tell a best friend?
Go inward and reflect honestly on whether you have been treating yourself with love and compassion.
Don't judge yourself on these thoughts,
Just become aware.
Breathe in and breathe out.
When you next catch yourself speaking unkindly to yourself,
Mentally say stop and then pause and reframe that thought and tell yourself you are worthy of love and compassion.
Believe you are worthy of this love,
Kindness and compassion because you dear one deserve this more than you give to anyone else.
Begin to become your own biggest supporter in this journey of life.
Vow to only treat yourself with love and kindness.
Give yourself the compassion you deserve.
Be the voice that champions you onward,
Supports you and encourages you.
So my friend,
As we begin with some deep inhalations,
We will take our mind from these thoughts and go to a place of stillness,
Love and complete surrender and allow ourselves to simply be still.
Know you are loved,
You are divine.
In this quietness,
Thoughts will come and go and that's okay.
Watch these thoughts like passing clouds simply being the observer and notice them drifting by.
Breathe in deeply through your nose into your belly now as deep as you can.
And slowly exhaling out through your mouth letting all the air exit your lungs.
Another deep breath in.
And let it go.
Gently go inward now.
You may like to simply focus on your breath or if your mind starts to wander,
You may like to repeat this mantra.
I am one with all that I am.
I am worthy.
I am enough.
I am loved.
I am one with all that I am.
I am worthy.
I am enough.
I am loved.
I am one with all that I am.
I am one with all that I am.
I am one with all that I am.
I am one with all that I am.
I am one with all that I am.
I am one with all that I am.
I am one with all that I am.
I am one with all that I am.
I am one with all that I am.
I am one with all that I am.
I am one with all that I am.
I am one with all that I am.
I am one with all that I am.
I am one with all that I am.
I am one with all that I am.
I am one with all that I am.
I am one with all that I am.
I am one with all that I am.
I am one with all that I am.
I am one with all that I am.
I am one with all that I am.
I am one with all that I am.
Slowly begin to bring your awareness back to your body now.
You may like to gently open your eyes.
Move your head from side to side.
Stretch out your arms and add some movement to your fingers.
Stretch your legs and start to slowly awaken your body.
Before we complete our practice today,
Bring your hands and place them on your heart.
Thank yourself for showing up today,
For giving yourself this time.
Be mindful of your thoughts going forward and give yourself kindness and compassion each day.
Remember to return here anytime you need to.
This place is always here to guide and hold you.
Thank you for joining me here today for this self-love and compassion meditation.
Go gently my friend,
With all my love,
From my heart to yours.
Namaste.
