Coming into your preferred meditation position,
Either sitting up with a straight spine,
Or lying flat with your back against the ground in Shavasana.
The more ever you find yourself,
Know it is perfect for you.
And start by taking a deep cleansing breath through your nose.
Then a sighing exhale out of your mouth,
Allowing your out breath to bring you into this present moment to drop into presence and be with your body.
And wherever you are,
Feeling into the contact that your body is making with the earth.
Just acknowledge how that feels.
And allow your body to melt into the air.
Your whole body from head to toe.
That one.
And bringing your awareness to your breath.
And allow yourself to be with the gentle ripples of your breath as they float in and out.
In and out.
Like water lapping at the shore.
A constant in your life and something that is with you all the time.
The natural flowing rhythm of your breath floating in and out.
Like waves on the shoreline.
The earth solid and stable below you.
And the expansiveness of the sky above you.
And you,
The river flowing between them.
Your body,
A river of water.
Constantly flowing.
And changing.
The cells in your body are never the same.
They are transforming all the time.
Just like a river is always carving out new pathways.
And the water has an intelligence.
It knows when to be calm and still.
And it knows when to be wild and free.
And has an innate ability for just knowing.
And water always finds a way to flow through things that are in its path.
The river is always free and flowing.
Always fluid and moving.
The riverbed solid beneath you.
Holding you.
The stars and the moon and the sun above you.
In each sunrise and each sunset.
And staying in this place as long as you need.
With your river.
Flowing and fluid.
Always free.
Knowing that this place is always within you.
Always accessible.
All we have to do is close your eyes and be still.
And when you are ready,
Placing one hand on the earth and one hand on your heart.
Feeling your connection to the land and the connection to yourself.
Namaste.
