Our thinking brain identifies with memories of the past and plans for the future.
It calls the sum of these our identity.
Our mind identifies with pain and failure.
It identifies with success,
Lack of success,
Or unhappiness,
Despite our success.
It always wants more.
It looks for cause and effect,
Scheming to place blame or shame.
Our thinking mind is the one thing standing between us and the present moment.
In the present moment,
Pain,
Worry,
Anxiety,
And fear,
All of these dissolve.
In the present moment,
Your appearance,
Abilities,
And performance are irrelevant.
You are free in the present moment.
We access this present moment sometimes when we listen to music or create art or play extreme sports.
We are free in the present moment.
You are free in the present moment.
We access this present moment sometimes when we listen to music or create art or play extreme sports.
We are captivated by nature or come close to death.
It can feel elusive,
But the present moment is always available to us if we are able to shed the past and future and our thinking mind's preconceptions about who we are.
When we shed our outer layer,
We become one with all of creation,
Where there is peace,
Ease,
And joy.
In this meditation,
We will pop ourselves into the present moment with a simple question.
Who am I?
It's not a question that's meant to be answered.
Let yourself drop in.
Anytime you begin to fall out,
To think with your thinking mind,
Ask yourself again,
Who am I?
Who am I?
And feel it in your heart space,
Not your head.
Who am I?
Who am I?
Who am I?
Who am I?
Who am I?
Who am I?
Who am I?
Who am I?
Who am I?
