Welcome to the second guided meditation in the resonance series,
Being.
Our world is full of action and busyness.
Most of us are never without something to do,
And especially in the West,
Our culture places a high value on constant productivity.
Learning to make space for mindful being in our present reality is essential in cultivating a life full of peace,
Focus,
And loving interaction.
If we don't prioritize margin space in our experience of daily life,
We quickly notice a greater tendency towards anxiety,
Fear,
And anger responses toward ourselves and others.
Margin space is time set aside to exist in simple awareness outside of the pressures and expectations that we all deal with.
You might use your margin space for all kinds of meditation,
Or simply a slow,
Mindful approach to basic tasks like eating or walking wherever you might be going.
The goal is to focus on being and maintaining a connection to each moment as it passes,
Bringing your full self to each experience without worrying about the future or regretting the past.
If you haven't already,
Take a moment here to pause and prepare your space for this guided meditation.
Remember to temporarily disable notifications on your phone and other devices so that there won't be any unexpected interruptions or distractions.
You may want to light a candle,
Burn some incense,
And do some light stretching to become more present to your body.
When you're ready,
Unpause and continue.
Take your place on your cushion or mat or chair and release yourself from the busyness of the day.
These next few moments are free of outside expectation and responsibility.
So begin by letting your physical body do what it automatically knows how to do.
Notice the effortless and natural rhythm of your breath as it enters your lungs.
Let your diaphragm expand and just be aware of the feeling.
Exhale slowly and fully and enjoy the sensation of air moving through your windpipe and across your lips as it leaves you.
The simple experience of your body's ability to breathe on its own is a way of releasing yourself into the pleasure of being without responsibility.
Begin to allow your frame to relax.
Start with the crown of your head and move to your face muscles.
Purposely release the tension in your forehead and eyebrows.
You may even want to give yourself a little forehead massage to disengage those muscles and return your face to a more relaxed state.
Then clench your jaw and allow your lower jaw to be soft and drop slightly.
Feel free to let your mouth open as your face lets go of the responsibility of being on.
Continue to let that wave of release travel down your neck to your shoulders.
Draw them up toward your ears tightly and then let them slowly fall back down on an exhale,
Trusting them to hang on the frame of your torso.
Bring your chest slightly forward to open up the rib cage and give your lungs more area to expand.
Maintain some integrity in your back and spine and feel how your head,
Neck and shoulders stack over your body.
Trust gravity here to root you into an alignment as you focus on just being,
Just existing.
There is nothing to do but be in this moment.
There is nothing to seek but the experience of each second,
Each bit of reality as it transitions from one instance to another.
We can't control future moments that haven't arrived and we can't change moments that have faded from the now.
Our neurons try to make these future and past moments real by continuing to bring them into the present but in actuality they don't really exist.
They only serve to prevent us from fully experiencing each moment of now just as it is.
In this moment of being you are surrounded by love and connected to everything as a result of being infused with the essence of the universe.
Each cell in your body is full of resonating energy and it binds you together with all that is.
Everything vibrating and resonating at its own unique frequency,
Overlapping and interacting to form a beautiful patchwork of existence.
Take a deep breath and as you inhale be intentional about sensing the flow of energy building where your body connects with whatever you're sitting on.
Feel the root of your body interacting with that energetic sense of expectation and power.
Your body's elemental job of just being is something that it does involuntarily.
Try to keep your mind from passing judgment on your body for not doing anything at all.
Don't give in to the thoughts that might intrude here of what you have to do and what is pressing on your schedule.
On an exhale let those scheduling and requirement thoughts pass along like leaves in the stream of your experience in these moments.
Give yourself permission to be.
Try to breathe slowly and fully and continue to be fully present to this moment as your meditation continues.
Gol Tiny wise.
