Hello,
And welcome to your vision board meditation with Dr.
Tricia.
Often times when we do a vision board in the beginning of the year,
The first quarter of the year,
We complete a vision board and we put it somewhere,
Hopefully,
In an area of our house that we might look at frequently.
But sometimes what happens is we habituate to it and we start to not see it anymore.
It becomes part of the atmosphere,
It becomes part of the living space,
And it's not new and fresh.
So one thing you might want to do is move that.
But also for this meditation,
I want you to take your vision board,
Whether it is on your phone or on your literal piece of paper,
Put it in front of you.
So take a moment,
You can pause this if you want,
And grab it and place it in front of you.
Great.
So I want us to take a couple of deep breaths,
Inhaling.
You can gently close your eyes if you'd like.
And exhaling.
And inhale,
Breathing in your intentions that you have in front of you.
And exhaling.
And one more inhale.
And exhale.
And then I want you to gently open your eyes with a soft gaze and look at your vision board.
Choose there might be multiple images or one particular image.
For this meditation right now,
I want you to choose an image and have a light gaze as you look at that.
So it might be a goal that you have for your career,
Or love,
Or finances,
Or travel,
Whatever that is.
If you don't have a vision board and you're doing this with me,
You can choose a goal.
You're just selecting an image and look at that or think of that in your mind's eye.
And take several breaths and just look at that image right now.
See the image that you've chosen to represent who you want to be within this year and where you want to be.
Letting that image in.
What I want you now to do is to gently close your eyes and still maintain that image that you looked at within your mind's eye.
Your eyes are closed,
Still maintaining that image of what you want to bring into your life.
And now as you're thinking of this image,
I want you to actually feel the feelings of who you will be when you've achieved that goal.
How do you want to be feeling?
Whether it is a sense of happiness,
A sense of love,
A sense of being content,
Gratitude,
Joy.
Feel those emotions right now.
And as you're doing it,
As if you've already achieved that goal,
As you're doing this,
Know where in your body do you feel this.
For some people it might be a sense of warmth in their heart.
They might feel a sense of relaxation in their shoulders.
A sense of strength within their core.
Just note where you would feel this in your body.
And begin to feel this now.
And with your eyes closed,
Feeling within your body the sensations,
The physical sensations that you will be feeling and that you are feeling when you've attained this goal.
And noting the emotions that are arising.
But also within this image and the scene of you already achieving this goal,
Who is with you?
Is it something that you've achieved alone?
Is there a loved one's present?
And if so,
Who?
What do their faces look like?
How are they engaging with you?
And taking another couple of breaths into this.
And in this scene right now,
Just noticing what might you be wearing?
So physically yourself,
What are you physically wearing?
What are the colors you're wearing?
How do you appear?
How do you look?
What does your skin look like?
Just note all the sensations that might be arising.
And note what you physically look like in those that are in this scene with you.
What do they look like?
What might they be feeling as they're interacting with you and celebrating this win with you?
Take another couple of deep breaths.
Knowing that this is available and attainable for you at any moment.
Good.
And then gently,
We're going to count to three.
We'll have you gently open your eyes.
So one,
Slowly taking another deep breath.
Exhale anything you don't need.
Two,
Noting the sensations you feel now and that sense of gratitude for achieving this.
And three,
Gently opening your eyes.
Slowly bringing in the room with a soft gaze.
So I want you to note all of this and take some time to journal about this today.
And revisit this exercise again and again.
It's important even though we do vision boards to also visualize as well as feel the feelings of how we want to feel now.
Don't wait for a year from now or 10 years from now.
Feel those emotions now.
And thinking of one action step that you can do this week to feel those emotions now,
Whether that is gratitude or happiness,
Contentment,
Excitement,
Joy.
Take one action this week to feel that.
