Hello and welcome to The Daily Insight.

I'm Elise Baillew.

In today's meditation we will be focusing on mindfulness of the breath as an anchor to greater relaxation and ease in the body and mind.

Finding a comfortable position,

Either sitting in a chair or lying on the ground,

And gently closing your eyes.

And as a way of bringing your attention into this moment,

Just taking a deep breath in and gently letting it go.

And another deep breath in and gently letting it go.

And as you take a few more deep breaths in your own time,

Just becoming aware of the sensation of the breath within the body,

With each in and out breath.

And allowing your breath to fall into its own natural rhythm.

Letting go of any preferences for it to be a particular way.

Just allowing the breath to breathe itself.

And taking a moment,

Bringing your awareness to the face.

Sensing the eyes and the muscles around the eyes.

Allowing them to be soft and relaxed.

Softening and relaxing the muscles around the jaw.

Moving your attention to the belly and allowing the belly to be soft and relaxed.

Bringing your attention now to the out breath.

Seeing if with each out breath you can relax more and more deeply in the body.

And let go of any thoughts that come to mind.

With the out breath.

Releasing all control through the entire duration of the out breath.

And trusting the next in breath to arrive in its own time.

Just resting for a few moments with the breath.

And rather than thinking about the breath,

Just sensing the breath as it moves in and out of the body.

And releasing thoughts with each out breath.

And as this short practice comes to a close.

Just remembering that you can tune into the breath at any moment of the day.

As an anchor to greater relaxation,

Ease and clarity.
