This meditation is a form of rescripting used to help combat stress and anxiety when trying to go to sleep.
Due to a past experience,
Some people have difficulty relaxing and falling asleep.
This meditation is to build your resilience and confidence in your ability to safely fall asleep.
So snuggle in,
Get nice and warm,
Let your body relax.
Take a few nice deep breaths in through the nose,
Filling up the belly and gently sighing out that breath through pursed lips.
Two more times.
Now with your eyes gently closed,
Feet fallen over to their sides.
Fingers curled gently.
Scan your body from toe to head for any tension.
Send a breath to any tension that you find,
Thanking the body,
Acknowledging the body,
Allowing the whole body to become relaxed.
In your mind's eye,
You might like to visualise a protective white glow enveloping your entire body.
Allow your subconscious to receive these words of peace and comfort and security.
I am aware of my body becoming more and more relaxed.
I feel safe,
Comfortable,
Peaceful.
There is nowhere else in the world I need to be but here in this moment,
Relaxing,
Falling deeper and deeper into sleep.
There is nothing that can hurt me in this moment.
There is no reason for me to feel any fear.
I am safe,
Content,
At peace.
My body deserving of a good night's sleep.
My body feels relaxed.
My mind feels relaxed.
My body holds no tension.
My mind holds no tension.
My body is at peace.
My mind is at peace.
My body is safe.
My mind is safe.
I feel my body becoming heavier and more relaxed.
I feel my head heavy on the pillow.
My neck relaxed.
Shoulders relaxed.
Arms relaxed.
Heads relaxed.
Torso relaxed.
Buttocks relaxed.
Both legs relaxed.
Both feet relaxed.
I am safe.
I am secure.
I welcome sleep.
Whole body completely relaxed.
Whole mind completely at peace.
