Hello,
Welcome to Thriving After Addiction's Body Positivity and Healing meditation.
I'm your guide Erin Colleen Garrity.
Take a few moments to sit well,
To clear out some space for the work we're about to do.
You can choose to sit up during this meditation,
Rounding down through your feet.
Or you can allow yourself to lie down and completely let go.
Start breathing deep in and out through your nose.
And just imagine the world outside of you falling away for right now.
Each time you inhale,
There's this bubble of protection that expands around you.
And inside the bubble,
It's very safe,
Very comforting,
And very soothing.
And you have a knowing inside that you are safe,
Comfortable,
And it's okay to let go.
As you breathe,
I want you to notice the feeling of your breath expanding your ribs,
Front to back,
Side to side,
And just notice the feeling.
By heightening your interoception,
We're preparing ourselves to listen and speak the language of the body.
Keep drawing yourself back to the present.
If the mind wanders,
It's okay.
That's the mind's job.
But when you become aware,
Come back to the sound of my voice.
Come back to the feeling in your body,
And just imagine holding space for it inside of that safe bubble.
Keep feeling your breath,
And then see if you can notice the feeling of your heartbeat.
And once you notice that feeling of your heartbeat,
See if you can expand it into your fingertips,
Feeling the pulse of life and energy running through you.
Soften the outer edges of your body,
Your hips,
Your lower ribs,
Your shoulders,
Maybe your jaw,
And allow that pulsing,
Loving energy to flow through you.
Just notice with each heartbeat how it flows.
As you continue to feel that pulsing through you,
We're going to open up a dialogue with the body.
So you might just mentally say to yourself,
To your body,
I am here now.
I am listening.
Breathe and notice how maybe when you say that to yourself,
A sense of relief comes over you,
Dropping into your wholeness.
Notice if anything comes up,
Any sensations.
There might be anger trapped in there.
There might be sadness,
Grief.
There might also be happiness and joy.
Just allow yourself to experience whatever comes up.
We're holding space.
Notice if you have any initial resistance to feeling the experience of your body and try to soften around it.
Just know that it might be your pattern to resist and it's okay.
Once your body is relaxed and open,
It might now be more receptive to the message we have to say to it.
I want you to speak to your body as if it were an innocent child.
The innocent child might have some pain,
Some suffering,
Some hurt,
And we hold space.
I see you.
I'm here with you.
I'm sorry if I hurt you.
I'm sorry if I ignored you.
I'm here and I care about your pain.
Your pain is important.
I know from the beginning that you've loved me unconditionally and you've tried to guide me.
I know that you can heal me if I allow it.
I am open now to surrender to your wisdom.
I am sorry.
I am sorry.
I am sorry.
I know you are the beautiful temple,
The vessel that can save me.
I know that you are the temple,
The vessel that holds my human experience.
I still love you when you're sick.
I still love you when you're vibrating in pain.
I am learning to allow love and joy to flow through you unobstructed.
I am here.
I am listening.
I am learning to understand your language of presence and experience.
I hold space for that universal force to flow through me.
Thank you for teaching me.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
I know that through you,
You are my vessel to freedom,
To the full experience of being human,
Of allowing love.
I know that through you,
I can alleviate my suffering when I connect to you and allow the stuck vibrations to flow through.
All of this pain,
All of these emotions,
It's all just energy.
As I breathe and drop down into you,
I know that you are here to help me.
I am here now.
I'm not going to leave you.
I'm going to stay.
I am learning to listen to your language.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
Keep holding space for your body.
Notice the vibrations that come up.
The body is our path to freedom,
Learning to allow strong emotions to flow through.
When we soften,
When we surrender and let go,
The body can process whatever we need it to.
It is here for you and it has always loved you since the beginning.
We can choose to love our bodies.
We can choose to allow the wisdom to flow through us.
Allow ourselves to be guided by the inherent intuition that's hiding inside of each one of us like a gem.
Keep breathing.
Notice your heartbeat.
Notice your breath.
Notice the experience of your body,
Perhaps making a commitment right here and now for the rest of the day,
Maybe the rest of the week to check in,
To notice,
To listen,
To acknowledge the language of your body.
Namaste.
