Hello there,
I'm Erin Newman and this meditation is designed to help you release an addiction or a connection to social media or just a need to check social media as often as we do.
As you know,
That dopamine hit of going in and looking for likes and looking at social media in general can be very addictive and so our work here is to create that natural dopamine in our body,
To create that feeling and sensation that we would otherwise be getting by checking social media within ourselves and allow ourselves to be at peace within our own nervous system.
So you can begin by gently closing your eyes if you haven't already and starting to take some long,
Slow,
Deep breaths in through your nose and out through your nose or mouth,
Allowing your entire body to begin to relax,
Let go,
Sending your breath anywhere in your body that might feel tight or sticky,
Anywhere you might be holding on to tension in your body,
Just allowing the breath to move into those spaces now as you continue to take long,
Slow,
Deep breaths,
Allowing the muscles around your eyebrows to relax and the muscles around your ears to let go,
Relaxing the muscles in your jaw and allowing your neck and shoulders to become completely relaxed,
Feeling relaxation move through your spine and down into your lower back and hips and all the way down the backs of your legs,
Down into the soles of your feet and now feeling if you can a sense of spaciousness behind your eyelids,
Feeling into the space behind your eyes and feeling into a sense of spaciousness within your throat,
Feeling that sense of space within your throat and feeling into spaciousness behind your heart and in your torso,
Feeling into the space there and now feeling into the space all around you,
Feeling a sense of spaciousness above and below and to each side of you,
Allowing yourself to fully relax into this spaciousness and then imagining going down a set of ten beautiful stairs together,
Utilizing the sound of my voice,
With each step you'll become even more relaxed,
Even more at ease,
Ten,
Letting go,
Nine,
Even more relaxed,
Eight,
Seven,
Six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
In this completely relaxed space,
Seeing before you a beautiful golden crystal ball and within that ball is you,
Living your most ideal life,
Going throughout your day in your most ideal day,
Seeing yourself waking up every morning at a time that feels right to you,
Perhaps taking some time for meditation or connecting in,
Eating nourishing foods,
Foods that feel good to your body and perhaps moving your body in ways that feel good to you,
As you go throughout your day,
You have so much time and spaciousness for the things that light you up,
Maybe that's being in nature or connecting with others,
Feeling in to what your ideal day holds,
Doing the work that lights you up,
That serves your deeper mission and purpose on this earth and as you go through this ideal day,
You might notice that you have an urge to check social media,
To be on your phone or laptop and that's okay,
But perhaps instead you choose to give yourself a hug,
To step outside and take a breath of fresh air,
To hug a friend or yourself,
To cuddle a pet,
A spouse,
A child,
A friend.
And noticing that you can start to feel really good in your own body now and that you can also increase this feeling good feeling in your body.
But as you now tune in to a little bit of this feeling good feeling,
You can allow that feeling to increase as if you were turning up the dial on a radio.
This ideal abundant version of you,
Increasing the feelings of joy,
Of bliss,
Of peace,
Of fun.
And when this version of you is at the highest level that you can sense into a feeling good energy,
I want you to step forward into this golden bubble and become this version of you now.
This version of you who feels so good in their body,
Allowing these waves of joy,
Of fun,
Of excitement to move through you,
To feel what that feels like in your body.
And to feel what it feels like when this version of you moves throughout your day,
Moving through a feeling good day,
Waking refreshed,
Lit up,
Excited for the day,
Knowing you're doing your purpose work in the world and being richly rewarded for it.
Your mornings are yours,
Moving through them with a sense of purpose but also leisure,
Doing the things that light you up in the mornings,
Perhaps that's movement,
Or nourishing your body with good food,
Taking a walk.
Whatever helps you to be your best self as you go about your day,
Connecting in to the energy of the universe,
To the energy of source,
For guidance,
For inspiration as you move through your day,
As you take time for your creative pursuits,
As you take time to be with the people you love,
Doing things that you love each and every day,
Giving yourself permission,
To take time to move your body in ways that feel good to you,
To eat nourishing foods,
To love yourself throughout your day,
To feel really good in your body,
Giving yourself gentle hugs throughout your day,
Setting up ways that you can be in this world but not of this world,
Perhaps finding workarounds so that you don't have to be on your phone or on your screens quite as much,
Giving yourself permission to be in nature,
To be connected to the sun,
To the stars,
To the moon,
To ground your feet into the earth,
To feel what that feels like every day,
You are the infinite divine put onto this planet to experience everything beautiful,
Allow yourself to connect in even more to that,
And you may still be tempted of course to connect in even more to the universe,
Connect in even more to that,
And you may still be tempted of course to check in with social media,
And that's normal and that's human,
And also simultaneously giving yourself permission now to feel good in your body in different ways,
To no longer need to experience those feelings that come from social media,
Both anger and joy,
Both sadness and happiness,
Because you are meant to experience everything on this planet,
But you can choose more deliberately now,
You are choosing more deliberately now,
You're choosing to experience the outside world through connection to people,
Through connection to people,
Through connection to nature,
Through connection to animals,
Through connection to the divine,
The intensity you're craving can be found in your regular everyday life by being out with others,
By tuning into the energies of the universe,
This is available to you now.
Tuning once more back into that feeling good feeling,
Even if you can only feel it a little bit,
Accessing that small part and allowing it to vibrate throughout your body,
And even extending out past you through your heart,
Feeling that vibratory energy extending above below to each side of you as you allow waves of bliss,
Of joy,
Of fun,
Of expansion to move through you,
Increasing,
Turning up that dial,
Breathing into what this feels like in your body and recognizing that you have created this and that you can return here at any time to recreate this feeling.
And so now with that expansion within you,
Once more finding that set of 10 beautiful stairs and this time as you go up each of the stairs,
You'll feel yourself returning with a renewed sense of energy,
A connection to you,
To source,
To your body,
Knowing that this is the energetic channel and this is all that's required.
One,
Feeling so good in your body.
Two,
Feeling waves of energy moving through you.
Three,
Starting to return.
Four,
Coming back,
Feeling energized.
Six,
Dropping into your heart space.
Seven,
Feeling grounded,
Connected.
Eight,
Feeling that expansion within you.
Nine and ten,
Coming back to this time and this place.
