Hi,

This is Gera Clark.

Welcome to this EFT session for stopping resistance to exercise.

This emotional freedom technique uses simple acupressure points to break the unwanted thought patterns in our body and to be able to free our resistance to exercise.

As we all know,

The resistance is always greatest at the breaking point when change is going to happen.

So join me.

Let all those thoughts and the resistance that comes to your mind and feel them in your body.

Observe where in your body you're feeling that resistance.

How strong is that resistance?

What part of you that says you can't exercise today?

How strong is that feeling on a scale from zero to 10?

10 being the most resistant,

Zero being none.

Feel what's going on inside the terrain of your body as you breathe in and let yourself gently survey those areas of tension and then release the breath.

Let it release and flow out.

Now shrug your shoulders up around your ears,

Inhale and hold.

Now release your shoulders and breathe out.

Just do it again if you want to release a little more before we start.

When we tap,

We generally begin by focusing on the truth,

The truth about how we feel.

We do this in order to release those negative feelings or blocks with tapping.

Once this is accomplished,

We turn toward the positive.

The points we tap are starting with a karate chop side of the hand.

You can use two fingers and tap lightly five to ten times each spot.

The following are the points so you get familiar with the sequence.

Now we're going to start always with the karate chop point,

But that's the only time that we do that.

The sequence goes as follows.

One,

The inside of the eyebrow just above the nose.

Two,

Outside of the eyebrow near the temple.

Three,

Under the eye on the bone about an inch under the iris.

Four,

Under the nose.

Five,

Under the mouth between the lip and chin.

Six,

One inch below the collarbone.

Seven,

Then a hand width under the armpit where the nipple line would be.

And then eight,

Ending on the top of the head,

The place where the fontanelles are,

Very top of the head.

Remember,

If you find yourself needing to tap on one area more or to change the words,

You can.

Now let's start tapping on the side of your hand,

The karate chop point,

And repeat after me in your mind.

Even though I tell myself I've had so many unproductive years of exercise and they're influencing me today,

I choose to let the old stories go now.

Inside of the upper eyebrow,

Above the nose.

I don't want to exercise.

Outside of the eyebrow,

It feels hard.

Under the eye,

On the bone,

It doesn't feel fun.

Under the nose.

And I always seem to procrastinate.

Under the nose.

Under the mouth or lose focus.

The collarbone.

And I never get done what I want to get done.

Under the arm.

And then I get frustrated with myself,

The head,

And with life.

Inside of the eyebrow.

And that's okay.

Inside of the eyebrow.

I'm only human.

Under the eye.

Doing the best I can.

Under the nose.

With the resources I have.

Under the mouth.

And the more I release this tension,

The collarbone,

And all this old resistance.

Under the arm,

The more I start to let go.

Top of the head,

The more productive I am.

Eyebrow.

Inside.

I've made exercising about being perfect.

Side of the eyebrow.

But that's not quite right.

Under the eye,

I can exercise without being perfect.

Under the nose.

I can have a great day,

Have more energy,

And then let go of the rest.

Under the mouth.

What if I could make exercising fun?

Collarbone.

What if I could enjoy every part of my routine,

Big or small?

Under the arm.

What if I could be present and grounded and feel my body getting stronger from exercise?

The head.

And find joy in exercising and have a more energetic day.

Check in with your body and feel what your resistance is.

What the score is now from zero to 10?

10 being the most resistance,

Zero being none.

Notice if it's less or more.

Now I want you to go back to the eyebrow point,

Tapping gently,

And I want you to envision yourself.

The top of the eyebrow,

Exercising,

Whatever it looks like to you.

Side eyebrow.

An exercise doesn't have to be perfect.

Under the eyebrow,

Envision you're exercising.

My exercise time is one where I'm doing the best I can and letting go.

Under the nose,

See that happening now.

I envision doing the best I can and letting go.

Under the mouth.

And notice that with every tap,

I release the resistance to exercise.

I release those old stories about exercise and I envision a new version of myself that flows with my day and energizes my life.

Collarbone.

See that happening now and say,

I feel myself motivated,

Productive,

And I'm allowing my day to be just that.

Under the arm,

I'm making this a reality in my life and being now.

The head.

This is who I can be.

This is who I am.

Willing,

Motivated,

Productive,

Filled with joy in every step.

Now you can gently stop tapping and take a deep grounding breath.

Inhale and exhale.

How do you feel now?

Tune into that initial resistance to having great exercise today.

What is your resistance level now on a scale from 10 to 0?

10 being the most resistance,

0 being none.

Hopefully you've cleared some resistance and are ready to have a fulfilling exercise today.

Remember,

It's not about being perfect.

Instead,

Focus on being grounded.

Let your body flow.

You allow yourself to work in harmony with it.

It's within those states that you get the right things done,

The things that matter in your life.

The more you do this process,

The more you'll be able to apply it to other things in your life.

The ones you'd really like to have less resistance to.

Sometimes we all need a little push to get ourselves going.

Enjoy your day.

Namaste.
