Welcome to a guided meditation on consciousness.

So go ahead and find a comfortable place to sit.

If you're holding anything in your hands,

You can simply let it go.

And we start by simply observing the breath.

The breath guides us into the present moment.

It helps us relax.

It helps us clear and tune in to the moment of now.

So allow for the inhale and the exhale to guide this practice.

And in this meditation,

We are practicing our awareness skills.

This is the heart of consciousness.

So it's not the content of what is arising,

But it's our capacity to be aware.

So as we are breathing,

We notice that there's the breath,

And then there is awareness of the breath.

See if you can feel within your system that difference of feeling the breath,

And then noticing the awareness of the breath.

And we are going to expand into this awareness to learn more about it from the embodied experience of it.

And awareness is all-pervasive.

It is consciousness itself.

So our awareness can stretch into boundless realms.

So see if you can experience that,

The simply being in awareness.

There's no content,

There's no agenda,

There's no right or wrong.

There simply is clear seeing.

And to be able to see clearly,

We must allow for the emptiness of awareness,

Of looking with clear eyes.

So see if you can allow yourself to feel that quality of awareness that comes from emptiness,

This clear seeing that can only arise once we've really let go.

And as we let go,

We sharpen our clarity.

And allow this awareness to expand.

Perhaps you are feeling it in the head,

But awareness is non-local,

Meaning it is everywhere.

So see if you can feel awareness through all parts of your body,

The feet,

The hands,

The belly,

The heart.

And then see if you can feel awareness through the space itself.

The space is actually aware because all of consciousness is connected.

And if you're struggling to maintain this practice of awareness,

That's completely okay.

This is part of why this is a skill that we train the mind in being aware.

And of course,

Content is gonna come up,

Whether it's sensations or stories or emotions.

But in this practice,

We just return to being in awareness,

To simply seeing clearly,

Clearly to letting go of the personal self and being in consciousness itself.

How is consciousness moving through you?

How is awareness guiding you from the inside and also from the outside?

You can imagine it as a pure,

Clear space.

Awareness is space.

It's a spacious quality.

It's that which can hold everything.

So see what it's like to become the space.

Space holds so much,

But in this practice,

We are the space.

It is like being the sky,

This open expansion into being and seeing without any judgment,

Without any story.

It is simply is.

So take another moment here and play with your own awareness,

Noticing what it's like for you to be in awareness.

Perhaps it's challenging,

Perhaps it's easeful.

Just noticing what it's like to cultivate this practice of awareness.

And then slowly and gently in your own timing,

Just returning back to the breath,

To the body,

To the ground,

Slowly opening the eyes,

Looking around,

And just noticing what has shifted in you through this practice.
