Welcome to practice.
My name is Hannah Morecambe.
Today I'll be guiding you through a self-acceptance meditation.
We'll begin this practice by closing down the eyes,
Bringing awareness to your breath.
Inhale through your nose,
Feel your lungs expand,
And exhale slowly through your mouth,
Letting go of any tension.
Repeating this for a few breath cycles,
Allowing each breath to ground you in this present moment.
Noticing the quality of your breath in this moment.
Does your breath feel expansive or maybe restrictive?
There's no right or wrong,
We're not trying to fix or change anything.
Just beginning to notice.
Take a step back as the quiet observer of your experience.
Shift your focus now to your body.
Begin at the top of your head and slowly scan down to your toes.
Notice any areas of tension or discomfort without judgment.
Think of each breath releasing and softening the tension.
Finding acceptance of your body just as it is in this moment.
Perhaps your mind will pull you into different directions.
That little voice judging parts of yourself,
Parts of your experience.
You are not the voice of your mind,
You are the one that hears it.
Return your awareness back to your breath.
You may begin to notice emotions that start to arise,
Whether it's joy,
Sadness,
Frustration,
Contentment,
Or anywhere in between.
Allow yourself to lean into the feeling,
The gentleness and kindness.
Emotions are a natural part of the human experience.
Repeat these affirmations silently to yourself.
I am worthy of love and acceptance just as I am.
I embrace my imperfections,
They make me unique.
I am enough exactly as I am in this moment.
Shifting your awareness to one thing that you're grateful for in yourself.
Could be a quality,
Experience,
Or challenge that may have helped you to grow.
Embracing a sense of gratitude for your journey and the person that you are.
To become the person that we want to be.
The first step is finding acceptance of exactly where we are right now.
We cannot hate ourselves into a version that we love.
Even the parts of ourselves we find it hard to accept are there to teach us something.
Be proud of yourself for taking steps to find more self-acceptance,
Self-compassion,
And self-love.
Next inhale sending lots of love into the body and exhaling any remaining judgment or frustration.
In your own time open your eyes.
Thank you for sharing this practice with me.
I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day filled with compassion,
Kindness,
And self-acceptance.
