In this meditation,

We will be opening ourselves up to trust and trusting the process of life.

This is a really simple but powerful meditation.

Begin by finding a really comfortable seated position.

This can be on a chair with your feet firmly rooted in the ground.

Or you can sit on the ground with your legs crossed.

Wherever you are,

Make sure you are comfortable and warm.

Once you've found your seat,

Come to stillness.

Feel each part of your body rooted into the surface beneath you.

Follow the natural curvature of your spine up towards the sky.

See that your head and neck are in line with your spine.

Have your palms face down on your thighs.

You can close your eyes or have them open,

Gently gazing at a focal point in front of you.

Bring all your awareness to your breath.

Have no control and make no effort.

Just be here in your normal,

Natural breathing rhythm.

With each exhalation,

You may start to feel your body getting heavier and heavier into the ground beneath you.

Begin to feel a release.

Having trust and feeling into it does not happen at the level of the mind.

We need a more embodied experience.

We already have a level of trust in our bodies.

We breathe.

We have a heartbeat.

We have various functionings that happen in our body.

And this all goes on and we allow for it.

We trust our bodies to function even when we're asleep.

The power of trusting life comes from becoming deeply receptive and surrendering to the process of life,

Just as we surrender to the processes of our body.

It requires us to be deeply present and to become intimate with presence.

One of the ways to become intimate with presence is through our senses.

We will be going on a journey,

Traveling around our senses,

Merely taking note of the information that we receive from our senses.

This will enable us to become deeply present and therefore deeply trusting.

Bring all your awareness down to your hands.

You can very gently start to rub your hands on your thigh.

What do you feel?

What does the fabric of your clothes feel like?

Or what does your skin feel like?

Start to take note of any information you receive from your touch.

Also feel your seat on the surface beneath you.

If your feet are on the ground,

Feel the ground beneath your feet.

Permit the earth to hold you.

See how this shifts your experience from just sitting on the earth.

When you allow the earth to hold you,

You are trusting the earth to hold you safely and securely.

Begin to feel into this.

This is what grounding is.

It is what continues.

Now,

Bring your sensory awareness to your nose.

What can you smell here,

If anything?

You can also notice the air gently going in and out of your nose.

Start to travel your awareness to your ears.

What can you hear?

What can you hear in your external world?

And what can you hear in your internal world?

Just take note of the sounds.

Now travel your awareness to your mouth and your tongue.

What can you taste?

You can move your tongue gently around the inside of your mouth and see if you can taste anything.

Again,

Just taking note,

Being deeply receptive to the information you are receiving.

Now travel your awareness to your eyes.

If your eyes are closed,

What can you see behind your eyelids?

Is it total darkness?

Or can you vision something?

If your eyes are open,

What can you see around you?

Again,

Taking mental notes of what you receive as information.

And then you can just come back to your breath.

A gentle inhale and exhale at your nose.

Bringing your awareness into all your senses brings you deeply into the present moment.

And when you are intimate with presence,

This is when you can allow for trust.

Trust comes from becoming deeply receptive and surrendered.

You're now going to repeat some affirmations inside your head.

You can repeat after me.

I trust myself.

I am powerful.

I trust the process of life.

I trust there is a reason for everything.

I trust in nature around me.

I deeply trust my body.

I trust the whole universe.

I am open and receptive to all the love,

Good and prosperity in the world.

To complete,

Take a deep breath through your nose,

Right down to your belly.

Exhale out through your mouth,

Emptying all your breath.

You can gently open your eyes and start to come back into the room.

You can gently open your eyes and start to come back to the room.

Take a few deep breaths here,

Again permitting the earth to continuously hold you.

This meditation is now complete.
