This meditation is a gentle invitation to slow down and breathe back into yourself. Created for mothers in the postpartum season and beyond, it offers a soft space to release the weight of doing and return to simple being. With each breath, you’ll reconnect to your body, your calm, and the quiet strength that motherhood has already placed within you. By the end, you’ll feel grounded, nurtured, and deeply at home in yourself.

Welcome and thank you for joining this gentle postpartum meditation.

Take a moment to find a position that feels steady and supportive.

Perhaps seated with your feet resting firmly on the ground.

And allow your hands to settle comfortably in your lap.

Begin by drawing a slow deep breath in through your nose.

Allowing your belly to expand softly as the air fills you.

Hold for a quiet pause at the top and then exhale gently through your mouth releasing any tension you may be carrying.

Again inhale deeply.

Hold for a moment.

And exhale slowly softening with each breath.

Continue this gentle rhythm for a few more cycles allowing yourself to arrive fully here.

Now bring your awareness to the weight of your body resting on the surface beneath you.

Notice the steady support holding you up,

Keeping you safe in this moment.

With each breath allow your face to soften,

Your jaw to loosen,

Your shoulders sink down and your whole body beginning to feel lighter.

Imagine roots extending down from the soles of your feet,

Reaching deep into the earth.

These roots give you steadiness,

Security and grounding.

As you breathe in,

Imagine drawing strength and nourishment from the earth.

And as you breathe out,

Let go of any heaviness or tension in your shoulders or your jaw.

Stay with this grounded feeling as you silently repeat these affirmations,

Allowing each one to settle gently into your heart.

I am strong,

Capable and resilient.

I trust myself to navigate the challenges of this journey.

I am surrounded by love and support.

Each day I grow more and more confident in my role as a mother.

I honour my own needs and care for myself with compassion.

By nurturing myself,

I nurture my baby.

I embrace this chapter with patience and grace.

Like all mothers,

I am learning and evolving.

I am enough,

Exactly as I am right now.

Take a few more nourishing breaths into your belly.

And exhaling slowly and completely each time.

And again,

One more time,

Inhaling into the belly and exhaling out of your mouth.

When you're ready,

Gently bring your awareness back to the room around you.

Wiggle your fingers and toes.

And when it feels right,

Softly open your eyes and come back to the room.

Thank you for giving yourself this time today.

May the rest of your day feel calm,

Grounded and filled with care.
