I'm Shelly McLean,
A therapeutic arts healer and empowerment coach.
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to meditate with me.

Now let's begin.
Close your eyes and thank yourself for setting aside time to connect with your inner world and inner child.
Take a deep breath in and slowly exhale.
Take another deep breath in and exhale.
One more time,
Take the biggest breath you've taken all day and slowly sigh it all out.
I invite you to bring your mind's eye to yourself as a child.
You see yourself sitting in the grass underneath an old oak tree.
You slowly take steps toward them and as you do,
An old feeling of a familiar friend starts to fill your heart space.
Little you looks up and sees you approaching.
Make note of how you greet each other.
Perhaps it's a warm embrace,
A big hug,
A joyous reunion.
Maybe they missed you and they feel a little shy.
How does it feel to see this younger version of yourself after your embrace?
The two of you sit in the grass underneath the tree together.
You tell them who you are and that they are safe with you today.
Let them know that you want to start caring for their needs,
That their happiness,
Their survival,
Their dreams,
Opinions,
And experiences are important to you and you are here to listen to them.
Ask little you what they need from you in this present moment.
Take a few moments to listen to their response.
Next,
Ask little you if there are any activities or experiences they wish to explore again or maybe for the first time.
Perhaps it's the arts,
It's dance,
It's travel,
It's music.
What do they want to learn about?
Take another moment to listen.
Ask little you how you could take care of their health or survival needs a little more.
Perhaps they're craving a bedtime routine,
More water,
Or time to play out of your busy work schedule.
How can you care more for your inner child's health and survival?
Next,
Ask little you what makes them laugh and smile,
What sparks their imagination,
What makes them feel creative and alive.
Listen to the response.
Next,
Ask little you when they feel safe and at home.
Sit with the answers to these questions,
The responses little you gave you.
Let them swirl around inside your mind and body.
Feel the emotions they carry and the love you have for them.
If something surfaced and you realized maybe you were neglecting these needs,
How will you change that?
Moving forward,
How will you care for the needs of your inner child?
If you feel comfortable,
You can share any insights or memories that came up.
You can share them with me.
You could either message me or I encourage you to share them with a friend or a partner.
Knowing what your inner child needs from you,
You can provide that for your inner child.
And then also sharing it with other people,
It lets them provide for your inner child as well.
So include them on this healing journey.
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to meditate with me and to learn a little bit more about your inner child and how you could care for them.
