In this session I'm going to introduce the topic of neuroplasticity and explain why this offers another reason for us to meditate each day.
Neuroscientific studies have shown us that the mind-body cannot tell the difference between a real event and a perceived event,
Which is a thought.
So our perception effectively creates our reality.
In a study done by the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science,
Scans on people who engage in regular meditation showed significant neuroplastic changes in the brain.
The suggestion here is to consider creating a vision board or at least envision where you would like to see yourself in 12 months,
In 24 months,
In five years or even at a specific event.
As a specific example you might envision yourself as a keynote speaker on a huge stage talking to thousands of people.
In this practice really hone in on the detail of this vision.
Note how you feel,
Note how you carry yourself and note anything else that you envision for yourself at this point in the future.
In creating this vision you are planting a proverbial seed in your subconscious mind and by constantly coming back to meditate on this vision each day you're effectively watering that seed in the subconscious mind.
You're strengthening your neural networks to support the kind of life that you want to live.
You're embracing that new emotion that you will feel in the future that you envision and as you get more excited when you're envisioning this you're bathing your body in the neurochemistry that would be present if that future event had actually happened.
This process impacts the energetic vibration we're emitting out into the world.
We're raising the frequency at which we resonate.
We're expanding our consciousness.
As we raise our frequency and expand our consciousness we attract like energy.
We attract like people and events.
Pascal Frey,
A German neurophysiologist,
Has explored in his highly cited work over the last two decades the ways in which various electrical patterns work together in the brain to produce the various types of human consciousness.
The various states or waveforms of our brains are beta,
Alpha,
Theta and delta.
So if we think of brain states like a building,
So the fourth floor is beta.
This is where thought and regular brain activity happens.
The third floor is alpha and this is where all of your programs and beliefs and stored.
The second floor is theta.
This is beyond the alpha and your beliefs and and and you start connecting with the universal mind in this space.
And the ground floor is delta.
This is the universal mind,
Source,
God,
Oneness.
So you manifest beta in an alpha or theta state.
Yogis and long-term meditators however can move into a delta state and this takes a lot of practice.
When you're operating in the beta state constantly it's not possible to manifest because instead of being relaxed and in the higher realms you're in the head.
You're cycling thoughts and you're focusing on the 3D realm.
By contrast when you're in an alpha or theta state or even better delta you're accessing those higher realms of consciousness and have the ability to call in abundance from that state.
It's a wonderful incentive to carve out some time for a visualization meditation every day.
In the next session I'll guide you through a manifestation meditation.
To prepare have a think about something that you really want to feel,
Something you really want to do or achieve.
Really throw caution to the wind with this one and reach for the stars.
So have that in mind for our next session.
