Hello and welcome.

I'm Lindsay Aikie,

Your meditation guide for this moment,

And I'm glad you're here.

Let your body get comfortable.

Find some way of being where you can be both alert and relaxed.

Let yourself feel grounded and supported by the earth,

And then just start checking in on your body.

As you move your awareness through your body,

You can gently invite any areas of tension to release.

Maybe you soften your forehead,

Your eyes,

Or your jaw,

Down through your neck,

Your shoulders and arms,

Dripping down through your torso,

Softening that chest and that belly,

Opening the hips,

Continuing down through your legs,

Your knees,

Your lower legs,

Your ankles,

Your feet,

And all the way to your toes.

Letting your awareness allow the whole body to relax and be at ease.

You might want to bring a half smile to the corners of your lips,

And see how that affects your mind.

And then take a few deeper breaths,

Bringing a calming energy to your body with each in-breath,

And inviting relaxation as you let go with each out-breath.

And as we deepen,

Your breath can find its own natural rhythm.

Here we let the breath breathe us,

Without needing to control it or make anything happen.

You can simply relax and receive the breath as it moves through.

And now I want you to bring to mind something that brings you joy.

What is it that brings you joy,

Or a feeling of true contentment and well-being?

Perhaps it's being somewhere in nature,

By an ocean or a tree.

Maybe it's dancing or moving your body.

Maybe it's being with your dearest loved ones,

Laughing.

But recall a time when you experienced this sensation of joy,

Without trying to make anything happen.

Just relax and enjoy the feeling of the memory.

And notice what your body feels like as you recall this memory.

What parts of you light up?

And then how does it feel in your mind?

Notice what your heart feels like.

Let your awareness fully rest here in this feeling of joy.

And now take another deeper breath in and out.

And bring to mind some blessing in your life,

Someone or something that you are grateful for.

And as you think of this blessing,

Bring an image to your mind of this person or circumstance or being,

And give a silent,

Simple thank you,

Right from your heart,

To this being,

To this experience.

And just relax in the joyful feeling of gratitude,

And as it washes over your body.

Now take a deep breath in and out.

And bring to mind yet another blessing,

Someone or something that you're again grateful for.

And once you have this image or sensation,

We'll again give the silent thank you from your heart,

An offering of deep gratitude for this blessing.

Just relax and let yourself enjoy the feeling in your body,

The feeling of thank you.

And now open to this fact that you are alive,

Here on this earth,

Right here,

Right now.

And as you relax,

Feel life as it moves through you,

Without needing to make anything happen.

Again,

Aware of this breath naturally sustaining you and keeping you alive.

Aware of the systems throughout your body that nourish you from every cell that keep you living.

Notice your senses,

How they can take in colors,

Sounds,

Smells,

And tastes,

And how they allow you to sense the world.

All of this within your body,

All these miraculous processes that keep you alive.

And then become aware of your consciousness,

The light that shines through you.

As you relax deeper,

And life moves through you,

You can sense the inner you,

The you that is beyond the body,

That light that shines through.

There's nothing that you need to do.

You simply relax and enjoy the fact that you are alive.

This feeling of aliveness,

Mixed with joy,

Mixed with gratitude.

It's our greatest gift.

And the more we notice,

The deeper we feel it.

So come back to your gratitude.

Come back to your joy.

Come back to the light that shines from deep within your body.

You are here.

Now I'll invite you to bring some teeny tiny movements to this body.

Again,

Still remembering the joy,

The gratitude,

And the consciousness that is coming from deep within.

Take a deeper breath in and out here.

Notice how your body feels.

And then in your time,

When it feels right,

You can just gently open your eyes if they were closed.

You can take in your surroundings.

Take the sense of joy and gratitude out into your day,

And know that it is always available.

I'm Lindsay Aikie,

And thank you for sitting with me.

Thank you for your commitment to joy,

And may each and every one of us be free.
