Jane Leonard,

Quickie,

I rest.

Find a quiet spot where you can sit comfortably or lie down.

Uncross your arms,

Your legs.

Close your eyes or if it's more comfortable,

Keep your eyes open,

But just allow your gaze to be soft and fall toward the floor.

During I rest,

Every experience is a messenger inviting you to welcome and be with thoughts,

Feelings,

Sensations,

And yourself as the one experiencing all of these coming and going.

So welcome and be with everything that arises with openness and curiosity.

Adjust your body so that you feel completely supported by the surface you're resting upon.

Senses wide open,

Welcoming light and sound,

Color,

The feeling of air on your face,

The feeling of your clothing against your skin.

Welcome your heart's deepest desire and any intentions that are present for you in this moment.

Welcome also your inner resource,

That place within you that you can instantly feel whenever you need to momentarily rest,

Restore,

And feel secure and at ease.

Bring attention to sensations in your mouth.

Bring attention to your chin,

Your jaw,

The lips and teeth,

The gums and tongue,

The throat,

The mouth,

The mouth,

Ears,

Nostrils,

Eyes,

Forehead,

Scalp,

Neck,

Forehead,

Head,

Neck,

Shoulders,

Arms and hands,

Palms of your hands,

Torso,

Front and back,

Left and right,

Left side and right,

Legs,

Feet,

The soles of your feet,

The entire body inside and outside as radiant sensation.

Feel yourself as the witness of all of these sensations coming and going,

And affirm to yourself,

I am aware,

Attentive,

And awake,

And I am at ease.

Sense the body breathing itself,

Releasing tension with each exhalation,

Each exhalation,

Releasing with each exhalation.

Sense yourself as unchanging awareness in which everything is unfolding.

From feelings,

Emotions,

And thoughts that are present as sensation in the body,

Your experience just as it is,

However it is.

Feeling yourself as spacious openness in which everything is unfolding.

Welcome sensations of well-being emanating from your heart and moving throughout your entire body,

Sensations of well-being and joy.

Feeling yourself as spacious openness,

Formless yet undeniable,

Everywhere and nowhere specific,

Aware and at ease,

Everything just as it is,

Sensing and feeling perceptions that are present,

Emotions,

Thoughts,

The feeling of well-being.

Make and aware as pure being,

The world unfolding in and around you,

Welcoming the truth that in every moment you always have the perfect response to each circumstance of your life.

Aware,

Awake,

Orienting again to your surroundings,

Taking in light and color,

Sound,

The feel of air on your face,

Your clothes against your skin,

Grateful for taking this little bit of time for your health,

Healing and well-being and the practice of I rest.

The part about the inner resource...had insight that mine is a bit depleted. I need to find out how to feel more resilience is there. This is very useful to know going forward to feel more grounded and at ease with others. Will listen again for more insights and grounding.
