Hello beautiful souls,
This is June B and welcome to an amazing night's sleep.
Thanks for being here for another in the series of bedtime tales with June B.
Today we're going to take a trip to our local swimming pool and take a dip.
So let's begin.
Get into your favourite sleeping position.
Make sure you're comfortable.
Close your eyes.
Relax your muscles and slowly imagine yourself melting into the bed.
Now let's go to your breathing.
Slowing down the heart rate and let's take some nourishing breaths together.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Last time breathe in.
Breathe out.
Settle in now.
Get comfortable.
Let go of everything that happened today and let's relax together.
Let yourself focus on my voice.
If your mind wanders it's okay.
Bring it back to the sound of my voice.
Keep your breathing slow and steady.
Let's go on our journey together.
Today we are going to take a swim.
It's been a long time since I've been to a swimming baths because of Covid and also making sure I keep myself and my family safe.
Now that things have opened up for all of us in the UK,
It's time to get back to some of the things I know and love.
Swimming is one of them.
So I'm here at my local gym and checking out the pool.
They have a big pool with regular swimmers every day.
You know it's a whole routine when you go swimming right?
First getting changed.
Then making your way to the pool area.
Having a pre-swim shower,
Essential.
And finally taking that first dip.
Getting used to the temperature of the water is one thing that is fun and always a bit of a shock to the system right?
After that it's time to decide if you're going to go to the roped off lane swimming area with those that look more like professionals to me.
Up and down.
No talking,
No looking,
No smiling.
Just doing laps after laps.
Or are you going to take your chances and splash about in the regular area and run the risk of getting tangled up with the kids that always want to bomb in the pool.
Oh there goes another one.
Oh there goes another one.
Why I hear you cry.
Why do they think it's fun?
Well hey what can I say?
To them it is and who am I to tell them any different right?
So I actually do a combination of both of these styles of swimming.
I choose an area close enough to the lanes and far enough away so that I don't bother them.
Then I do some lengths until I get tired.
I usually count what I did the last time I was here and how long it took me.
I always try to do a little better than last time and even if it's five minutes quicker.
Or maybe a few more lengths.
I'm happy with that.
So here I go.
Oh wait let me get away from these kids and yikes splash again.
Okay here I go.
Gliding through the water like a warm knife through butter.
Getting into my stride now.
Armin breathe in,
Other Armin breathe out repeat.
Armin breathe in,
Other Armin breathe out repeat.
Arm in,
Breathe in.
Other arm in,
Breathe out.
Repeat.
It is so relaxing to go along the lengths of the pool like this.
Knowing that I am caring for my body in a way only I can.
Getting more and more healthy one stroke at a time and feeling so much better for the experience.
Peaceful and relaxing while making myself better.
Talk about a win-win.
I'm not sure about you but I'm getting sleepy even thinking about it.
So I'm ready to let go fully and surrender to sleep.
Thanks for joining me tonight and as you slowly drift away,
Have yourself a great night's sleep.
And looking forward to seeing you again for another in the series of Bedtime Tales with June B.
Good night.
