Hello my friend,

My name is Jordan Lee Thomas and I'm so pleased to be here leading you in this meditation today.

Go ahead and find a place where you can be comfortable,

Where you won't be disturbed.

Find a seat or lie down,

Whatever position makes you most comfortable.

Just take a moment to get centered and clear.

Find your breath.

Allow its energetic wave to move through you and wash away thoughts,

Stuckness,

Any debris.

Just take a moment to feel your being.

Take a nice deep breath all the way to the very bottom of your lungs.

Let it out.

Embracing every sensation,

Finding the present moment.

If you have been feeling an ache in your heart lately,

I want you to know that you're not the only one.

It doesn't make it feel any better to know this,

It doesn't heal the hurt,

But it may give you more strength to withstand it in the short term.

The whole of humanity is in a very crunchy transition right now.

I see it as if we're being squeezed.

Our very cells are in contraction.

Like in any movie or a book where characters teleport or apparate or tesser,

The journey is often one of squeezy discomfort or at the very least strange sensations.

We're in a liminal space between what was and what will be.

The discomfort is intensified by our lack of sight.

What are we leaving?

Where are we going?

We try not to grip.

It doesn't work anyway.

There's nothing to hang on to.

And yet there is one thing.

We have our shared experience.

We have the knowledge that others are feeling it too.

Check in with your body.

Check in with your heart.

Feel it beating.

Check in with your breath.

Once again letting the energy move through you.

Letting the air fill your entire center.

Trusting it to move anything out that needs to be moved out.

Trusting it to agitate all the right things.

Trusting it to bring you peace.

Lately in the human collective we've been feeling very separate from one another.

Not from each other's minds.

No.

We can access the human hive mind at any moment using the little boxes we carry everywhere we go.

Yet we still feel lonely because we're separated from each other's hearts.

We're separated from each other's laughter.

We're separated from each other's facial expressions,

Our reactions to one another when we're in conversation.

We sit in separate homes eating separate meals.

We maintain separate households feeling nearly crushed under the weight of duties previously shared by multiple people through other eras of human history.

It's okay to feel the sadness of it.

It's okay to feel the strain.

Take another deep breath.

Filling up.

Not to dispel the feeling,

Any emotions that you may feel,

But just to coexist alongside it.

Allow yourself to be exactly as you are.

Feeling whatever you feel.

Notice if there are any new emotions that have arisen besides what you felt at the beginning of the meditation.

Allow them all to be there.

Maybe there's more than just one emotion.

Allow them to exist without trying to fix or change.

Just continue to breathe.

Breathing,

Letting the air keep the energy in your body from getting stagnant.

Everything is in motion.

All the sensations that you're feeling,

Whether it's emotion or breath or pain or pleasure,

Any emotion you may be feeling,

Just notice that they're all moving.

Let them go where they like.

They won't hurt you.

If you feel the need,

If your emotions feel too large for your body to hold,

You can imagine a clear bubble forming in your heart.

Then allow that bubble to grow larger and larger.

Let it get so large that it's bigger than your entire body and encompassing some of the space around you as well.

Let it be as large or as small as it needs to be.

As large or as small as feels right to you.

And then allow the emotion you feel to fill all of the space inside the bubble,

Letting the energy disperse.

Notice how that feels.

Remember that it's okay to have any and all emotions.

Just allow them to exist as they are.

If you can,

If you so desire,

Find a little curiosity about your emotions,

Whatever they are.

Not about the thoughts that caused them necessarily,

But about their qualities.

Do they have a color or a shape?

Just watch and notice as a gentle observer.

If you've been feeling that sense of separation from other human hearts,

It's probably easy to focus on that feeling of sadness and see it as a problem.

It probably feels like you need to do something to fix it or find something,

Someone,

Who will make the feeling disappear.

But what if,

Just for today,

We backed up just a little bit and noticed what the sadness might be telling us?

The reality is,

We wouldn't feel that sadness if we didn't have a desire to connect.

And that desire is a beautiful thing.

If you can,

Hang out for a little bit with the feeling of that desire.

Keep breathing.

Notice the sensation.

Where do you feel the desire in your body?

Is it warm,

Tingly?

What other words would you use to describe that feeling?

It's so very okay and even lovely to have the desire to be connected to other people.

It's a natural,

Shining part of humanity.

Can you imagine the alternative?

Our desire to be involved with each other,

To build things together,

Is one of the best things about us.

I know sometimes it doesn't feel easy to realize that desire,

The purest expression of this dream.

But for today,

Let's just do away with any shame or disowning of this desire to be connected.

It doesn't make you weak.

It makes you beautiful.

And maybe next time you're out in the world trying to meet new people or trying to get involved somewhere,

You can remember this beauty and let it shine out.

Humans tend to have the feeling that they need to pretend they don't want or need connection in order to protect themselves.

But we all want connection.

And as a human collective,

We will find ways to be more connected as we move through the growing pains in society.

So hang in there,

My friend.

I know you have all the strength and the wisdom you need to plug back into the heart of humanity.

Come back to your body once again.

How does it feel now?

What size is the bubble?

Just breathe and notice.

Take stock of your energy field.

What emotions are still there?

What sensations?

What colors?

What shapes?

Stay curious.

And now feel into your heart.

Spend a few breaths here in simple companionship with it.

Inhaling into your heart space and then exhaling the feeling that gathers there to the rest of your body.

And let that feeling fill your bubble even.

Relax your whole body.

Still breathing.

And with every exhale,

Relax just a little bit deeper.

It's okay if some of the sensations you're feeling in your body are still uncomfortable ones.

Let it mingle with the feeling in your heart,

With any other sensations.

Hold it all.

Let it disperse inside your bubble and keep breathing.

On your next exhale,

Relaxing your neck and shoulders.

Notice how your body can relax underneath all the sensation.

With the next exhale,

Relaxing your back and your ribs and every muscle in your abdominal wall.

Softening your belly.

And with the next exhale,

Relaxing the hips and the glutes,

Quads.

Taking one last big inhale and relaxing your lower legs and your feet.

Feeling peace.

Enjoying that relaxation for a few easy breaths.

May you dare to believe the part of you that knows all as well.

Even as you feel the hurt or the sadness,

Your heart is big enough to hold it all.

Thank you,

Sweet soul,

For meditating with me today.

I'm so grateful for your commitment to your own journey and I hope this recording has helped you.

Until next time,

Have a beautiful,

Beautiful day.
