Welcome to this Body Gratitude Meditation.

We often believe we need to control so much,

We spend so much time and so much effort in trying to control our lives,

In trying to think and push our way through.

And often we forget that we have so much support available to us from our very own systems.

Now this is not to say that this is your fault,

It isn't.

It's from the way all of us,

Myself included,

Will have grown up,

Will have learned in one way or another to prioritize the thinking mind,

To prioritize being good,

To prioritize the shoulds.

Our mind tells us that we need to push,

Fix and organize.

And those are not terrible things,

They are wonderful when we can use them as tools.

But it can be extremely nourishing to also just let go.

So let's do that here together.

Let's rest in the knowledge that our body knows what to do,

Because for sure it does,

Beyond anything that our rational minds can grasp.

It holds the wisdom and the guidance and all you need to do is reconnect with it and rest in it and let that give you support.

So let your body settle in,

Knowing that this is a time to pause.

You may do this in a seated position or lying down.

And as you do so,

Make sure that you do any last minute adjustments to make sure that your body feels really comfortable.

This can sometimes take a while longer than we think.

And connect to your breathing as natural as it is.

There's nothing you need to change.

Become aware of your breath going in and going out.

Notice how your body knows exactly what to do.

Inhaling and exhaling.

You don't have to control it.

Your body breathes for you.

It keeps you alive without thinking.

Become present to your breath as if you were.

It's best friend,

A deep companion,

A wise person who knows that being present and being aware is deep,

Deep medicine.

Take a moment to send some gratitude to your breathing and bring your awareness to your heart,

Knowing that your heart is beating for you day in,

Day out.

Without fail.

Bringing your awareness to be with your heart.

Sending it gratitude for everything it's doing for you.

And now move on with your awareness into your belly,

Full of so many beautiful organs that do so much intricate work,

Partnering in so many different teams to help you digest your food,

Detox,

Circulate hormones and communicate with other parts of your body and so much more.

What do you notice when you're with your belly?

Sending it the gratitude for all the support you get running in the background day in and day out.

Thank you.

Thank you.

This is a short journey here today.

And the invitation is to just notice what happens when you bring your attention to your body.

Do you notice any shifts?

Try that now.

Inviting into your awareness any place in your body that feels a little tense or stressed,

Without trying to fix it or make it go away.

Simply become present to that place,

Like an old wise companion would,

Who knows that being with and being present to is deep,

Deep medicine.

Notice what happens when your awareness is on that space that you chose.

Do you notice any shifts?

Feel tiny movements and shifts that may happen,

Simply by bringing awareness to that place.

Awareness is a deep,

Deep form of dialogue,

Which we often forget to use in our lives,

Because we're so busy and we don't have much time.

So maybe in this moment,

If it resonates for you,

Invite in an intention to bring more awareness and pauses in which you can simply be with your body and honor its wisdom.

There will be more to come to help you connect even deeper with the wisdom of your body.

But for now,

Let us close this practice gently by reconnecting with the breath as it is,

Noticing if anything has changed with the breath compared to when you started this journey,

Honoring your body and all it does for you,

And getting ready now to come back into full conscious alert awareness,

Feeling fresh and supported at the count of three,

One,

Two and three.

Welcome back to your day.

Give yourself a stretch and perhaps another little pause and see you soon.

Thank you for listening.
