The intention of this Yoga Nidrā practice is to enter into kinship with the truest parts of our beingness. The intention of this yoga nidra practice is to enter into kinship with the truest parts of our beingness.

Before we begin,

You will want to be in an easeful,

Reclined position.

You could lie down in shavasana,

Placing support behind your head and neck,

And maybe under your knees.

Or you could curl up in your bed.

Make sure you are comfortable and warm before you begin yoga nidra.

As the fullness of your morning tea deepens,

As the leaves steep in hot water,

So too does our soul connection deepen when we steep in that sacred space beyond our ego and the pullings of the material world.

Let this time be one of receiving the wisdom of your soul,

Which illuminates the path before you.

There is nothing to do in this space.

It asks nothing of us,

Only that we rest into the safety of the sacred and allow the whispers of our soul to be our guide.

Let's journey together.

We are going to do a guided awareness practice.

You may not hear everything I say.

You may even drift to sleep.

As we progress,

You may feel as if you are sleeping,

Yet you are still aware at the same time.

All of these experiences are valid.

What happens for you in this practice is fine and right for you right now.

Following our guided awareness practice,

We will pause in stillness for a few moments.

Land here.

Inhale.

Sigh your exhale.

Now sense your natural breath.

Your breath may change during the practice,

Becoming more shallow,

Subtle,

And faint,

Or your breathing may become long and deep.

Whatever happens with your breathing is just right for you right now.

Let's begin with a contemplation,

A deep resolve for our practice.

Today,

I rest in the space of the sacred,

Where the whispers of my soul,

Like the delicate snowfall on a silent night,

Are my guide.

Today,

I rest in the space of the sacred,

Where the whispers of my soul,

Like the delicate snowfall on a silent night,

Are my guide.

Today,

I rest in the space of the sacred,

Where the whispers of my soul,

Like the delicate snowfall on a silent night,

Are my guide.

You can allow your mind to be at ease in this space.

Sense the walls of the room that you are in.

Sense the space contained within this room.

Sense the space surrounding your body.

Sense your body in the room,

On your mat or in your bed,

Melting softly into the surface beneath you.

Sense the outermost layer of your body.

Sense your skin,

All of the layers of skin covering the entire surface of your body from your head all the way down to the soles of your feet.

Now,

Notice deeper inward.

Sense your muscles,

All of the muscles that provide strength,

Movement,

And stability to your body.

Sense all of your muscles from your head all the way down to the soles of your feet.

Now,

Notice even more deeply inward.

Sense your bones,

All of the bones giving structure protection and storage for minerals and lipids.

Sense all of your bones from your mighty cranial bones all the way down to the magnificent structure of the bones in your feet.

Now,

Notice deeper inward.

Sense your blood,

The subtle movement of your blood carrying oxygen and nutrients throughout your entire body.

Sense the pathways of your blood extending from your heart,

Pulsing all the way up through your head and all the way down to the ends of your fingertips and the tips of your toes.

Now,

Notice even more deeply inward.

Sense your nervous system,

Intricate network of nerves communicating throughout your entire body,

From your head all the way down to your feet.

Now,

Notice more deeply inward.

Sense the space in your body,

All of the space through and in between,

All of the other layers of your beingness,

The space providing lightness within your body,

Skin,

Muscles,

Bones,

Blood,

Nervous system,

Space.

Continue to be aware of your whole body through each and every layer from the outside all the way inward.
