When we are in a state of pride, there is a tireless preoccupation with appearance & what other people will think, there is constant vulnerability to the opinions of others. Our energy is dissipated by the preoccupation of defending our lifestyle, job, ancestry, country, political & religious belief systems. By being our true selves, connecting with each other through our actions & words in deep caring & love, we make a difference to everyone we cross paths with. How will you touch someone's heart? Good morning.

Happy Sunday,

September 20th,

2020.

And of course if you're listening to this in the afternoon or the evening or another day.

But here,

Where I am in Western Canada,

Calgary,

Alberta,

It's very fall-like,

Even though the fall equinox is two days away.

The tree outside my window is a brilliant yellow.

The leaves starting to fall already onto the ground.

But it's such a magnificent color and what a gift to have watched it transform from brilliant green to this gorgeous,

Gorgeous goldish yellow.

I invite you,

If you are taking stillness for this meditation,

To find a comfortable place,

Whether that's lying down or sitting.

And to softly close your eyes and in behind your closed eyelids to steady your gaze,

Maybe towards the tip of your nose,

Even behind your eyelids.

And let's just take a moment together to shed everything,

Everything that's come before this present moment.

So breathe in and really try to fill your belly and then using your diaphragm,

Fill your chest,

Your lungs,

Expand.

Pause somewhere near the top and then really exhale and ring everything out like hollow out your belly,

Squeeze your belly button in and get rid of all that stale stuff,

The stale oxygen,

The stale energy,

Even the negativity.

Whatever doesn't serve you,

Let it go.

And then with an empty container,

You have more room to fill.

And breathe in slowly,

Your belly,

The center of your body,

And your chest.

And this one,

Just this one,

Exhale heavily through your mouth,

Just.

.

.

Now those exhales feel nice and they feel good in a release.

Notice we don't really seem to get everything out.

So if you want another heavy sigh,

Take another heavy sigh.

If you need to,

To steady the mind a little more,

Place one hand on your lower belly below your belly button,

Maybe your right hand,

And place your left hand up towards your heart.

And then try to really move your breath from your belly to your heart,

To your chest.

This week for our meditation and our story,

I just wanted to share an experience I had.

I took an Uber and we all have an Uber story.

But this was such a great gift.

This young gentleman shared with me as we were chatting about the events of the world and just where we all were and are.

And he shared this story with me that he's lived in Canada for 13 years.

He comes from Africa and he went back about six years ago and he got in an argument with his brother.

His brother and mother continue to live in Africa and he was upset about the way his brother was caring or,

In his opinion at that time,

Not caring for their mother.

They got into this deep argument.

And my driver told me that that evening as he slept,

He was just tormented.

Tormented with fighting with his brother.

He didn't want to fight with his brother.

And so the next day he went to his brother and he said,

Brother,

I don't want to fight with you.

I love you.

And I don't know,

Maybe it's because I've lived in Canada and you've been here.

And maybe I don't see things the way I used to or I see them a little differently.

But I don't want to fight with you.

I love you.

And let's just let it go.

And it was over.

And you see,

He saw the bigger picture.

It wasn't his ego.

It wasn't anything to prove that he was right.

It was just pure love.

He could see that his own beliefs were a part of his perspective,

A part of his new life,

And that he was seeing things differently.

And that his brother had a different experience and a different perspective and saw things through those lenses.

And yet,

In the end,

There is no right.

There is no wrong.

And there's room for everyone and everything.

And above all,

We come together with love.

So take a moment.

And now,

If you haven't already,

Place your hand on your belly.

Place one in your heart.

And as you slowly breathe in and fill your body,

Breathe in and say the word love.

And just feel the resonance and the energy and the vibration in your body,

Just that pure energy of that word embodying it.

And then as you exhale and you hollow and you give all the fear away,

All the doubt,

All the anger,

All those lower vibrational emotions,

The pride,

The desires,

The depression,

Just exhale it all away.

Breathing in courage,

Love,

Compassion,

Gratitude.

And you can feel the energy shift.

And as you exhale again,

You let go of all the other lower vibrations.

Our body has this resonant vibration and energy.

One phrase that I love the most is the beautiful world my heart knows is true.

It is just a feeling when we hear truth.

It is a vibration in our heart and in our soul.

And something we read or something we see vibrates at that level.

We feel it.

There's nothing that the mind needs to do.

We feel it.

And the same is true when we hear an untruth.

Where we hear lies.

Where we hear hurt.

We feel that.

It truly feels like an injury to our heart and our soul.

And so in this last moment together again,

Breathing deeply to your belly,

Breathing love,

Compassion,

Truth,

Honesty,

Love.

Exhale,

Shed,

Hurt,

Anger,

Resentment,

Blame.

Let it all go.

Squeeze it all out of your system.

Fill your container with the high vibration as you breathe in.

Exhale,

Let go.

Let it all go.

Again,

If you're sitting in stillness,

Softly bring your hands together at your heart.

Bow your head towards your own hands,

Towards yourself.

Honor and thank yourself for giving yourself this time,

Your energy,

And your love.

Honor the amazing human that you are.

Your beautiful smile,

Your kind and generous heart,

Your laugh that makes others laugh.

Honor all that is perfectly you.

And by being you,

And by showing up in the world just as you are,

You bless us with your truth.

Fill your heart,

Fill your mind,

Fill your soul with gratitude.

Wishing you a beautiful day,

A beautiful life ahead.

Namaste.
