This is a full body relaxation meditation.
It's perfect for right before you go to sleep or any time during the day when you just want to let go,
Release tension and stress in your body and completely relax.
Let yourself settle in lying down on a couch or a bed wherever you feel most comfortable and see if you can make yourself 10% more comfortable,
Maybe with an additional pillow or a blanket,
Whatever makes you feel really cozy.
Take a deep breath through your nose and a loud sigh through your mouth.
Two more of those letting go breaths,
Inhaling and sighing it out.
Sighing it out.
And last one,
Deep inhale and sigh it out.
Let your eyes softly close and just take a moment to check in with your body in this moment,
Noticing how you're feeling,
Noticing any tension or tightness that you're holding.
And as you allow your breath to settle into a slow,
Deep,
Natural rhythm,
Give yourself permission to relax.
Relax the muscles in your forehead,
Soften from the inner corners of your eyes,
Across your eyelids to the outer corners,
Allowing all the muscles and skin around your eyes to soften and relax.
Unhinge your jaw,
Wiggle it from side to side,
Let yourself yawn.
Keep your jaw soft and relaxed with your teeth slightly parted and your tongue resting gently on the bottom of your mouth.
Take another breath and relax all the muscles in your neck,
Your shoulders,
Your upper arms,
Your lower arms,
Your wrists,
Hands,
And fingers.
Take a breath and relax the space in between your shoulder blades,
Softening your shoulder blades and all the muscles in your upper back.
Relaxing your mid-back and your low back.
Take a breath and relax your chest,
Soften your rib cage,
Relax your belly,
Your hips,
Your pelvis,
And your glutes.
Take a breath and relax your upper legs,
Your lower legs,
Your ankles,
Feet,
And toes,
Giving your body permission to sink a little bit deeper and soften into whatever surface you are lying on.
Breathe.
Take a moment to scan your body from head to toe,
Looking for anywhere you are still holding tension or tightness,
And with a loud sigh,
Let it all go.
Continue to focus on your breath,
Inviting more relaxation into your body as you inhale and letting go a little bit more with each exhale,
Knowing that in this deep state of relaxation,
You are nourishing your body,
Your mind,
And your soul.
You are allowing for optimum healing in yourselves,
And you are giving yourself a gift,
A gift of connecting,
Of receiving,
Of releasing,
And of letting go.
Feel free to stay here as long as you wish,
Maybe turning this meditation off and letting yourself drift off into a deep sleep,
Or if this is just a break in your day,
Take a deep inhale and sigh it out.
Begin to gently bring yourself back,
Wiggling your fingers and toes,
Circling your wrists and ankles,
Maybe finding a full body stretch or a yawn or any other movements that feel really good in your body in this moment.
Slowly bend your knees one at a time and roll over to your side to rest in fetal position,
Reminding yourself you can take this feeling of relaxation,
Peace,
And tranquility with you into any activity or interaction that you have in the rest of your day.
I hope you enjoyed this full body relaxation,
And I am sending you so much love.
Namaste.
