Namaste.
My name is Kristen Rose,
And thank you so much for choosing to be here.
Welcome to your yoga nidra practice today.
This is a specialized practice to connect to the power and radiance of full moon lunar energy.
At this time,
You might feel heightened,
Hypersensitized,
Fatigued after the waxing moon phase,
Or perhaps energized,
Beaming in your fullness,
Wherever you are and however you are being.
Allow this practice to be a moment for you to slow down,
To rest,
To unplug,
Recharge,
And emerge feeling renewed,
Transformed,
And with a deep sense of peace and clarity.
Take this time here now to find a comfortable place to rest so deeply.
You might settle down into supine,
Resting on the back of the body.
You might bring in a pillow in behind the knees,
A blanket for warmth,
An eye pillow to help block out any light.
Ensure that the body is completely comfortable and at ease.
For physical relaxation truly is the foundation for the deep rest to come,
And to perhaps achieve a state of yoga nidra,
A state of wakeful or conscious sleep.
Take a moment to consider if there was one thing that you could do to become even just 2% more comfortable here.
What might you do?
Yoga nidra is a completely guided meditative practice,
A journey using yoga nidra techniques that will bring you into a deep,
Light-altered state of consciousness.
And so as you rest,
Back and down,
We will begin with a few deep breaths to calm and relax the nervous system.
Taking a deep breath in through the nose.
Exhale through the mouth.
And then two sips in to fully inflate the lungs.
Again,
Two sips in.
Exhale through the mouth.
And the natural rhythm of your breath returns.
Effortless and easeful.
Allow the body to become heavy.
Still.
Resting so deeply.
And as you turn your awareness inward,
Let this be a time for celebration,
A remembrance of who you are,
And the light that shines from within.
This light of the moon illuminates all of the beauty of this life,
All of its many blessings.
So might you take a moment here now to mentally whisper the words,
Thank you.
Thank you.
And thank yourself for showing up here today,
For taking this time for you.
Surrender now and trust that what you need will be revealed to you here.
Simply follow the guidance of my voice and be carried into deep,
Deep medicinal rest.
Where you can shine,
Amplify your light,
And bask in the light of your true nature.
Begin to notice the gentle touch of air on the skin of your face,
On the eyelids.
Soften the eyes,
And the muscles around and behind the eyes.
Unhinge the lower jaw.
Soften the tongue.
And sense the flow of air in the nostrils.
And notice any sounds that are present.
Sounds in the space around you.
Sounds from this recording.
Sounds arising and falling away.
Allow the head and neck to become heavy.
Quiet the mind.
Allow the body to become heavy.
Sinking deeper and deeper down into the earth.
Feel the weight of gravity.
As you sink deeper down through the layers of earth,
Through the mantle,
To the core of the earth.
Your energy penetrating all the way down to the core of the earth.
From the depths of deep inner stillness,
Notice the natural rhythm of the breath in the body.
Notice the lungs expanding as the body inhales,
And contracting as the body exhales.
Like the ebb and the flow of the tides,
Or the waxing and the waning of the moon.
Notice the rise and fall of the breath in the body.
The lungs like the wings of the heart.
The next time the body inhales,
Bring breath and awareness up and into the mind's eye center.
Visualize moonbeam light shining down and into the mind's eye.
The clearing between the brows.
Breathing into the mind's eye center.
And as the body exhales,
Bring awareness down to rest in the center of the heart.
Directing the essence of moonbeam light down and into the heart.
And as this light shines upon the heart,
Bring forth your sankalpa.
You might use the phrase,
I surrender to the divine light of the moon to heal me through and through and to reveal the essence of my true nature.
I surrender to the divine light of the moon to heal me through and through and to reveal the essence of my true nature.
You might mentally repeat this phrase three times.
Or if you choose to rest in the space of no sankalpa,
To rest as being,
Or with a deep,
Felt sense of gratitude,
You can choose your path.
Bring forth your sankalpa now.
I surrender to the divine light of the moon to heal me through and through and to reveal the essence of my true nature.
Resting under the light of the moon.
We will now begin a rotation of consciousness throughout the body.
Begin to invite all of your awareness to rest at the tip of the right hand thumb.
Directing the flow of energy and moonbeam light down and into the right hand thumb.
Noticing sensations that are already present.
And imagine this region of the body brimming with moonbeam light.
From the right hand thumb to the first finger.
Second.
Little finger.
Finger.
To the palm of the hand.
Back of the hand.
Wrist.
Shoulder.
Shoulder blade.
Shoulder blade.
Collarbone.
Right side of the upper chest.
Right side lung.
Right side of the waist.
The right hip.
Heel.
Sole of the right foot.
Top of the foot.
The right big toe.
Second toe.
Baby toe.
All of the toes on the right foot.
The whole right foot.
The right leg.
Right side of the torso.
Awareness and breath resting in the whole right side body.
The whole right side of the body.
Brimming with sensations.
Bathed in full moonlight and energy.
And give time for awareness to flow over and into the tip of the left hand thumb.
Drawing all of your awareness to rest in the left hand thumb.
From the thumb to the first finger.
Second.
Third.
Little finger.
To the palm of the hand.
Hand.
Back of the hand.
Wrist.
Shoulder.
Shoulder blade.
Collarbone.
Left side of the chest.
Left side lung.
Waist.
Sole of the left foot.
Top of the foot.
Tip of the big toe.
Second toe.
Third.
Baby toe.
All five toes on the left foot.
The whole left foot.
Leg.
Left side of the torso.
All of your awareness and breath resting in the whole left side body.
The whole left side of the body.
Flooded with sensations.
Energy.
Being charged by moonbeam light in the whole left side body.
Give time for your awareness to flow down and down to the soles of the feet.
Imagine a tiny point of light resting at the center of the soles of the feet.
And as the body inhales,
Bring awareness,
Breath,
And this light from the soles of the feet up to the ankles.
And again,
As the body inhales,
Bring awareness and light from the soles of the feet up to the knees.
On the next breath,
Awareness ascends up and into the hips.
To the low back and sacrum.
To the mid-back.
To the upper back.
Both shoulder blades.
Backs of the arms.
Backs of the hands.
Back of the neck.
Base of the skull.
Center of the forehead.
The clearing between the brows.
The right brow.
Cheekbone.
The right eye.
Radiant orb of warmth and sensation.
The eyelid.
The right ear.
Outer folds of the ear.
Earlobe.
Notice the right ear listening intimately.
Back to the center of the forehead.
To the left brow.
Temple.
Cheekbone.
The left eye.
Radiant orb of light and sensation.
The eyelid.
The left ear.
Sensing the outer folds of the ear.
Earlobe.
Notice the left ear listening.
Notice now both ears listening.
Both ears listening.
Both ears listening.
And then inviting awareness to rest in the space between the ears.
Back to the center of the forehead.
Down to the tip of the nose.
The flow of air in the right nostril.
The flow of air in the left nostril.
The space between the lips.
Feel the teeth and gums.
The tip of the tongue.
To the root of the tongue.
The lower jaw.
Center of the throat.
To the hollow at the pit of the throat.
Awareness resting at the pit of the throat.
And might you imagine now the full moon coming down to rest in the hollow at the pit of the throat.
The full moon in her radiance.
Her healing essence.
A gentle gravitational spin.
Resting.
Held.
In the hollow at the pit of the throat.
The energy of the moon held here.
Suspended.
Floating.
Resting at the pit of the throat.
As you breathe in her soothing fragrance.
The essence of the moon.
A sweetness.
So delicate.
A fragrance our ancestors could not explain.
For it was only felt.
Resting here.
The whole body.
Deeply resting.
Being bathed in the energy and the light of the full moon.
Sensing the natural rhythm of the breath in the body.
Bring awareness now to rest in the palm of the left hand.
And imagine the full moon resting in the palm of the left hand.
Within this radiant orb dwells the light of the Great Mother.
The feminine.
The yin.
The soothing,
Nurturing essence of being held in the womb space.
The lunar energy outside of us.
But also within us.
As you hold this energy in the palm of your hand.
Let it be carried now by the winds of the breath.
Inhaling breath and light cascades from the left palm up to the heart center.
Suspended.
Dwelling in the place of the heart momentarily.
Exhale,
Switching sides.
As breath,
Light and energy flows down and out through the palm of the right hand.
Back to the left palm.
This moon and her energy flowing in to the heart space.
Nourishing the space of the heart.
And flows back down and out through the right palm.
Just imagine.
In through the left.
Linger in the space of the heart.
Exhale through the right.
In through the left.
Out through the right.
Activating the river of the moon,
Chandra.
In the left hemisphere of the body.
Right hemisphere of the brain.
As you breathe in through the left side and out through the right.
As the body breathes,
Drink in this healing moonbeam light.
Let yourself be bathed in her gentleness.
And you are the ocean receiving this light,
This energy.
Allow it to titrate down and down to the depths,
To the core of your being.
From the ripples on the surface,
Down and through the body,
To your very core.
Illuminating the light that shines bright within you.
The light that dwells in your heart.
The essence of your true nature.
Letting that go.
Allow the whole body to be open and receptive.
Like the ocean to be fluid in nature.
And imagine as if all of your cells on the left side of the body could breathe in life force energy and moonbeam light.
And as you exhale like osmosis,
This light and energy flows out through the right side of the body.
Like a tidal wave,
Breath flows in through the whole left hemisphere of the body,
Potent with prana,
And flows out through the right side of the body.
Like a wave,
Breath flows in through the left and out through the right.
And releasing that,
Welcome the image of the full moon to rest now at the mind's eye.
Three breaths as awareness,
And moonlight rests in the mind's eye.
And now bring awareness to descend down to the pit of the throat.
Once again,
Imagine the full moon resting at the pit of the throat for three breaths.
Inviting awareness now down and into the heart center.
The full moon resting in the space of the heart for three breaths.
Letting that go.
Become spacious as you rest here under the dark night sky,
Under a backlit of stars,
Galaxies,
And the Milky Way.
A void of space so dark and deep,
Infinite.
And yet this darkness reveals the light of the moon resting here now as you steep in the energy of the full moon as if all of your cells were illuminated and all of the atoms,
Molecules,
The space around you and without.
You are radiant,
Vital,
Multi-dimensional life force energy.
Pure,
Spacious awareness as you rest here now as your true nature.
Welcome a sense of everythingness,
Fullness,
Oneness,
Nothingness,
The void,
The darkness that reveals the light.
Everything and nothingness at the same time.
Like the moon suspended in space,
Consciousness itself allow yourself to be everywhere from this place of deep medicinal rest.
Call forth your sankalpa.
You may have used the phrase I surrender to the divine light of the moon to heal me through and through and to reveal the essence of my true nature or simply just a felt sense of gratitude.
If you are bringing in a sankalpa,
Mentally repeat it three times.
I surrender to the divine light of the moon to heal me through and through and to reveal the essence of my true nature.
Slowly and mindfully begin to draw your awareness back down and into the body.
Notice,
Sense and feel the body resting on the earth and the earth beneath your body.
Notice the breath in the body and together let's take a gentle breath in through the nose,
Out through the mouth,
Again in through the nose,
Out through the mouth.
You might bring in an audible sigh in through the nose,
Out through the mouth.
As you continue to rest in stillness bring awareness back to the room around you,
The walls of the room and where you are in the room.
Emerging slowly,
Rested,
Recharged,
Radiant and with the light of your sankalpa shining from within.
You can carry your sankalpa with you now as you slowly begin to wiggle the fingers and toes,
Nod the head from side to side or even find a gentle stretch.
You can then roll over onto one side of the body and rest there for a while longer.
Resting in this liminal space,
Emerging in a calm and regulated state from a place of certain transformation.
You are welcome to rest here for as long as you need.
