Welcome to a meditation to kick anxiety's butt.
Before I go any further,
Let me share with you a mantra that I've used time and time again to speak to my own anxieties.
The mantra is,
All is well.
Anxiety is the worry about the future and meditation is the ability to have concentrated focus.
So it's a no-brainer that meditation is offered as a solution to anxiety.
Here in this meditation,
We will begin to bring focus and attention to that which we want to feel and in return,
Reduce our anxiety.
As I mentioned,
Anxiety is a dear friend of mine and oftentimes I've experienced it getting the best of me.
Luckily,
There are ways to alleviate this emotion and meditation is one of them.
Remember all is well.
Let's begin.
Go ahead and get in a comfortable seated position and close your eyes.
Sometimes in the clenches of anxiety and tension,
Even the act of closing your eyes feels like a feat.
It's asking you to pause,
To take a moment,
To let go.
Remember all is well and it's okay to take this moment to yourself.
Take a deep breath in and a long exhale out.
You're okay.
Take another deep breath in and exhale all the way out.
Each breath will bring you deeper into settling your mind.
Take another deep breath in,
Filling up your lungs and exhale all the way out.
Allow yourself to soften,
To relax.
Take another deep breath in,
Pulling all the air all the way up from your toes into your legs,
Into your stomach and into your lungs and exhale that all the way out.
Relax.
This moment isn't asking anything from you.
Take another deep breath in and exhale out.
All is well.
Becoming aware of this moment,
I invite you to bring your right hand upon your heart and your left hand upon your right.
Take a deep breath in and exhale out.
Remember that this moment,
The outside world is not asking anything from you.
That you are right here in this moment feeling connected to your heart and to your breathing.
Take another deep cleansing breath in and exhale through your mouth.
Let the sound be the symbol of letting go.
Listen to your breath move in and out.
Feel your heart beating.
Take a deep breath in and exhale through your mouth.
In this moment with your hand upon your heart,
I want you to begin to focus on that which you trust in.
For each of us it is something different.
One of the things I trust deeply is the sun is bright.
I want you to say to yourself,
I trust.
Fill in the blank.
I'll hold space for you to find that phrase.
Let it come from your heart and let it be simple.
Bring this trusting and knowing into your heart and into your awareness.
Take a deep breath in and a deep exhale out.
In these next moments of blissful silence,
Repeat what you trust in with each deep exhale.
Take the deepest breath in and exhale all the way out.
Trust is the antidote to anxiety.
Take it in that in this moment you are able to move from a state of anxiousness to a state of trust.
Feel free to place your hands back down by your sides.
Bring a smile to your face.
Take a deep breath in and exhale all the way out.
Let this smile remind you that a lighter mood is possible.
That joy is real.
I invite you to imagine yourself placing your feet gently upon the grass.
Feel the earth beneath you.
Imagine walking onto the grass and coming to a beautiful beach.
It's the most beautiful place you've ever seen.
Looking towards the ocean brings tears to your eyes in the awe of beauty.
You can feel the wind in your hair,
The smell of the ocean.
You're smiling.
You begin to notice the sun's warmth shining down upon you.
Your body begins to soak in the energy and the joy.
In this moment you are connected.
You are supported and you are loved.
I will hold space for a few moments as you bring your awareness to these feelings.
I invite you to imagine yourself placing your feet gently upon the grass.
Feel the earth beneath you.
Take one last deep breath in and exhale it all the way out.
Let these feelings be that which leads you.
When you're ready,
Feel free to open your eyes and begin to become aware of your surroundings.
This meditation has given me clarity when I could not see past my own emotions and I hope it has done the same for you.
As you go on through your day today or if you're heading to sleep,
Rest assured that this too shall pass and that there will be a new day,
A new moment and clarity is possible.
I leave you with one last message.
All is well.
