The Mourning Of Losing A Pet In Your Life
by Linda Owen
This meditation starts with the whole process of what mourning is all about with very detailed insights that also look at many cultures and rituals of how to handle grief and loss, the process of mourning. Noting a pet is very much on the same level as a right to mourn this loved one. Which follows into a spiritual loving connection guiding you to meet once more in a sacred calm place together and just be. I have recently edited to improve sound quality too.

Welcome to this guided healing meditation called The Morning of Losing a Pet in Your Life.
Please get comfortable,
Seated or lay down if you wish.
Closing the eyes,
Thank yourself,
Connect to the breath and hold the breath still for 7 seconds now.
And breathe peace and love.
Losing someone is the natural process of entering grief and to man is your right.
Let's draw strength,
Let's expand the mind and connect to this deep topic that all humans go through.
From all nations,
The world at large and embrace the right to man and take comfort and strength from understanding the whole process more.
Eventually through the entire human process we tap into the very word acceptance and here we each find our power and control.
Is there a clue in that they are only physically gone?
For our minds and hearts keep them close.
Life is in a sense oneself,
The journey and those we meet on the way.
But I love how we add to our journey,
Their ways,
Their habits,
Memorabilia,
Keepsakes,
A fondness that remains always in the name of love.
And here often the observer sees what you are going through,
A search for answers and understanding of it all.
The bond of a precious animal is right up there with our human friends.
The symptoms,
The process is just the same.
Doctors,
Psychiatrists explain it as the 5 stages of grief that are believed to be this.
Denial,
Anger,
Bargaining,
Depression,
Acceptance.
So denial is when we begin first how to process the sad news,
Often heightened with the fear of no control,
With denial to cling emotionally to a false preferred reality.
Anger is a stress release,
Trauma and shock.
Why me is not fair,
All about who's to blame.
The word bargaining,
Ready to bargain with God,
Hoping to avoid all grief in exchange for a reformed life.
Depression,
Simply feeling so sad and why bother with anything,
Withdrawing and questioning one's own mortality.
And then acceptance,
Embrace mortality or an inviteable future with stable emotions.
Once the shock has run through the body,
We bow to acceptance of this change.
For we are human,
With our heart's body lined,
We go through the symptoms of loss of appetite,
Body aches and pains,
Unsettled sleep,
Unable to function with normal activities and loneliness,
Missing them.
Although this is based on human loss,
It is still a loved one,
Your loved one,
Your pet animal causing this mourning.
Let's look around the world how other cultures address this grief and mourning for the world is full of people.
In Ethiopia,
Africa,
There is a traditional community organisation called Ida,
Whose members assist each other during mourning,
Contributing to funding funeral costs.
Females take turns with housework food preparation.
Males erect a tent to shelter guests who visit the mourning family.
Members stay with the mourners and comfort them for three continuous days.
In Asia,
To mourn is to wear white with pointed hats.
In Imperial China,
The Emperor retires from public affairs for a three-year period,
2527 lunar lamps,
Or in the case of necessary affairs,
In seclusion of 27 days.
Japan mourning,
Believing their spirit is nearby,
Believing in afterlife,
Becoming a guardian spirit.
A number of services on the 7th,
49th and 100th day,
Depending on local custom,
Most commonly observed are the Buddhist service on the 7th day after death,
And the public sharing of Obon Festival of the Dead.
Thailand,
Where black and widows may wear purple.
Filipinos are influenced by other cultures and folk Catholic beliefs,
And may wear black or white.
There is a national nine days of prayers and praying by the mourners.
During these days,
The spirit of the deceased is believed to be roaming 40 days.
A mass,
A small feast is held to commemorate the dead during the 40 day period,
And the 40th day as Judgement Day signals the end of mourning.
Europe.
The custom of wearing black clothing dates back to Roman Empire.
In areas of Russia,
Greece,
Mexico,
Spain,
As such widows wear black for the rest of their lives.
Since 1870s,
Mourning practices continue,
Even for those who have emigrated still wear black for a good two years.
During,
That is of course black dates back in time and tradition of wearing jet.
In the 19th century,
Mourning could be expensive,
Such as a new set of clothes,
Or the need for working clothes to be dyed black.
And at the end of that wonderful movie called The Wizard of Oz,
Dorothy explains to Glinda that she must return home because her aunt and uncle couldn't afford to go into mourning for her because it was expensive.
Around the 21st century,
North Americans created the rear view mirror that clings a well displayed vinyl mirror of birth and death dates of loved ones and some with sentimental phrases.
The Pacific Intanga often display black bunting hung outside homes and buildings and the wearing of black clothes.
The Confucian Code of Practice of Mourning Times,
Where a man is expected to honour most of the descended from his great-great-grandfather and most wives.
One's father and mother merit 27 months.
One's grandfather on male side and wife merit two of twelve months.
An uncle merits nine months.
For one's father's first cousin plus other maternal grandparents merited five months.
What did Confucius say about life?
Life is really simple,
But we insist on making it complicated.
A superior man is modest in his speech,
But exceeds in his actions.
Be not ashamed of mistakes and thus make them crimes.
The more a man meditates upon good thoughts,
The better will be his world and the world at large.
So to grieve a man is also marked by the withdrawal from social events and quite respectful behaviour.
But what of death and new beginnings and messages?
Survival evidence that someone carries through messages after their death,
Through mediums.
And mediums have been around hundreds of years that believe we survive the extinction of the physical body that can release us all from the fear of death so we can live our lives to the full.
With everything in the next dimension is constructed with the mind.
That's why it's important in this dimension to strengthen it with positive thoughts and imagination,
Said by Betty Shine herself.
Death and birth are both traumatic,
But we manage the first and we shall be last.
In time we as humans will connect to a smile,
To laughter,
A new adventure,
A new strength.
With an everlasting bond to those we truly love.
Keep them close with memorabilia.
Light a candle if you wish on special dates.
Keep them in your prayers,
Your heart.
Some day you will meet again.
Learn to nurture and strengthen yourself once more.
For our minds and hearts keep them close.
Life is in a sense oneself the journey and those we meet upon it.
But I love how we add to our journey their ways,
Their habits,
Memorabilia,
Keepsakes,
Prayers and a fondness,
Love that always remains.
Breathing in a new strength.
Now let's energetically in a spirited way connect closer to your pet for some deeper personal comfort.
Please connect to yourself as pure energy and at the count of ten to begin a journey.

Rise out of your physical body and walk towards an inviting door.
This door is golden and radiates love.
The love of you and your pet.
The golden door has a pet flap near the bottom,
A pet flap with a smaller door for pet animals to go through.
As you kneel down on all fours,
Push open the pet flap door with your head and crawl through with ease and wonder.
On the other side now is the spiritual realm of loved pets.
Standing up again and call your pet's name three times loudly in the mind to come to you now.
Greeting one another in your special way.
And please notice there is no longer any physical ailments on them.
Please note they are in a safe,
Respected love place.
They too have family here to connect to.
But wish to comfort you and continue a connection of time together now.
You both have choices what to do with your time here.
Peace and stillness togetherness.
Choices to start uplifted adventures together in this spiritual realm.
Let hearts be lifted here as one.
Please let whatever feels right at this moment begin its beginning.
I shall leave you both for three minutes of bonding here.
After you must return back through the door of the pet flap.
Off you go now together.
Breathe deeply of this eternal love,
Eternal bond.
And breathe in the deepness of this eternal bond.
And time to seal a hug in this moment.
Sealing a hug into this moment as you must return a scalded back to the door of returning back to physical earth.
Kneeling down,
Kneel down and crawl back through the flap door.
Going back to your physical body.
Ready to continue your physical earth life.
And simply know your pet follows you with their heart and mind connection.
Decide on an action of tapping three times on your heart when you need a boost.
Bring the whole body into a divine soft stretch.
Connecting to physically softly stretching.
Filling up the physical body.
As I count you up to ten to wake.
One,
Two,

Opening your eyes.
Eyes opening.
And thank you.
Blessingly.
