Acceptance is an invitation to meet life as it is, not as we wish it to be. In this spacious meditation, Lisa Olivera guides you to soften your resistance and widen your arms around the full truth of this moment. Through quiet noticing and compassionate curiosity, you’ll explore what happens when you stop pushing against reality and allow yourself to rest in what’s here. You’ll leave with an intention to guide your day: Today, I’ll stop fighting what is and soften into it.

Welcome to day 15 of Insight Timer's Intention Setting Challenge.

Setting an intention is making a decision about who you want to be and how you choose to show up.

Over time,

Those choices become change.

Let's begin.

Hello and welcome to Insight Timer's Intention Setting Challenge.

My name is Lisa Oliveira,

And today we're exploring acceptance,

The gentle practice of meeting yourself and life exactly as they are.

Acceptance doesn't mean giving up.

Instead,

It means loosening our grip on how we think things should be,

And allowing ourselves to fully face what's here.

When we stop resisting reality,

We create so much more space to respond from real presence.

To help bring this energy into your day,

We'll focus on the intention.

Today I'll stop fighting what is and soften into it.

I invite you to take a moment to close your eyes or find a soft gaze,

Whatever's comfortable,

And just simply notice what's here.

There's nothing to do.

There's nowhere to be.

There's nothing to fix.

There's just a meeting of this moment exactly as it is,

With as much curiosity and openness as you can find.

Imagine yourself widening your arms around everything you might have a tendency to run away from.

Notice what softens when you embrace it instead of resist it.

Notice what is asking for your embrace rather than your judgment.

Notice what expands when you offer it nurturance.

Notice how your own capacity to meet what is with care gets bigger as you practice this sense of bringing acceptance forward.

Linger in that noticing for just a few moments.

What's here?

And what's it like to meet what's here with acceptance?

What's it like to stop fighting what is and soften into it?

Acceptance gets to be a tool for embodying your whole self,

And that embodiment gets to serve as an anchor in facing all that arises with wide open arms,

With expanded willingness.

We cannot always change everything that unfolds around or inside of us,

But we can practice showing up from the fullness of our hearts,

Letting acceptance guide the way,

And that alone creates a ripple that we can trust.

Before you move into the rest of your day,

Notice what happens when you stop pushing against what is.

Let your shoulders drop,

Your breath deepen,

And your heart open to the moment that you've discovered.

On the next few screens,

You'll be invited to set this intention to your insight timer home screen.

The simple act of seeing your intention reflected back throughout the day can be enough to create a ripple.

Good luck with the rest of the challenge.

The most powerful five minutes of my day. This short meditation will definitely be book marked and frequently repeated. Thanks so much for this.

Thank you, Lisa, for sharing such an inspiring message! I really found it refreshingly and inspiringly antithetical to the whole “do more, be more, buy more, have more” mantras that so often swirl around us all. (I really loved it! 🥰 )

Just what I need right now as I grow. I think other Enneagram 9s would benefit from this too. Thank you, Lisa!!!

This is a nice short meditation on acceptance. Her words at the beginning describing acceptance are so perfect for me that I wrote the whole passage down so I can come back to the words when needed.

Yes! Leaning in instead of avoidance can be difficult. But so much healthier. I will keep this bookmarked and come back often. Thank you….🙏🏼

This was exactly what I needed this morning. Accepting the moment without resistance or judgement. I tend to resist things that don’t go my way and then my day turns out how I responded to that moment. I am so grateful to be in the 2026 Daily Intention Challenge. This guided meditation with Lisa is very important in life. Simple and powerful. Thank you Lisa. In Gratitude 🙏🏼❤️

I really enjoyed this practice. This is not something that is easy to do, but I appreciate the reminders and I will come back to it often. It’s definitely something that I am striving for in my life, acceptance is the way to a peaceful life and freedom.

Short but terrifically powerful! I went beyond feeling as though I was IN the moment, but rather that I WAS the moment, losing my sense of self and surroundings in a deeply peaceful, not disconcerting, way, I didn’t even notice the door open and my dog leap up beside me! Conscious yet… unconscious! How does that happen?!
