You are listening to the Motherhood Unstressed podcast and I'm your host Liz Carlisle.
Thank you for joining me for another guided meditation.
Thank you for creating this space of serenity and calm around your day,
Around your heart.
It's by making the decision to sit still and to notice and breathe that you're able to alter your vibration and bring it into a higher elevation.
So let's get settled.
Whether you're sitting with your legs crossed,
Your hands gently resting on your knees with your back straight,
Or if you're laying flat on your back on your yoga mat or even in a comfortable chair,
It doesn't matter.
Just be comfortable and alert.
And as we sink in deeper to our meditation practice,
We're going to become very aware of our body.
So starting at the top of your head and bringing your awareness down inch by inch,
Notice any sensation there or lack of sensation that you might be feeling.
And I want you to take the next minute or two just trickling down your awareness slower than you would like.
And as you do,
Really,
Really notice.
This might be hard for some of you,
But for others,
You might notice how seamlessly you tap into your own body,
How much your body's been craving this attention from your heart,
From your soul.
I'll leave you now to scan.
And if you reach your toes and I'm not speaking yet,
Just do it in reverse.
Bring it back up and notice.
And again.
You You You You Notice now how much more relaxed and aware you may be feeling How much more in your body Hopefully as you brought your attention to each new body part You were able to relax just a bit deeper into your pose Let's take some deep breaths in together to activate our vagus nerve Parasympathetic nervous system Which is your relax restore and heal system as opposed to your fight-or-flight So deep breath in Hold out through the nose Deep breath in Hold out through the nose Deep breath in Hold out Out and you want to be able to hear your breath deep breath in Hold out This is your pranayama your life force your breath deep breath in Hold audible out Last one together deep breath in Hold Let it go for as long as you can Now I just want you to take a deep breath in Hold for a millisecond and then when you let it out,
It's gonna be really loud out of your mouth It's called the lion's breath and you can stick your tongue out on the out breath You can look and sound as ridiculous as possible It's really just a great way to detoxify to let everything go that you've been holding on to Through the night or through the day.
So let's take a deep breath in And let it all out And again stick your tongue out be as loud as you can Hopefully you're not scaring any pets or people in your house right now,
But it doesn't matter because it's so good for you.
So deep breath in Sticking your tongue out.
Good job.
And last one as loud and forceful as you can lion's breath deep breath in Good good job So now return to a gentle rhythmic breathing You should feel energized now in your body before we kind of took it down into a relaxed state But with the breath work and especially lion's breath,
You're feeling you should be feeling more energized within your body I know I certainly do and you just take this energy take this newfound vitality Which you always had all along but you've just reactivated through your breath Take this into your day.
And even if you are going to bed tonight right now,
You still have you still detoxified your body and your blood So now you're in a more alkaline state just from breathing.
It's that powerful.
It's that amazing So feel the energy circulating in your body if you like pause this and do another body scan Especially if you're about to go to bed and then just sink in and that fluctuation through the breathing through your breath So good.
It's so good for your mind body and spirit and you've just done it in less than 10 minutes So that's amazing.
Good on you.
Good job This was really fun So again,
If you feel like you want more just replay it started all over again and take yourself through that cycle of Relaxation and then energy And this is a great lion's breath again It's a great breathing exercise to do right before you get into the shower Make sure that you're hydrating and yeah doing all the things taking care of yourself like you would a precious plant Enough sunlight water rest and breathwork oxygen I hope you have a great week until next time namaste
