You're listening to the Motherhood Unstressed podcast and I'm your host Liz Carlisle.
Thank you for joining me for another guided meditation to give yourself a moment of respite,
To rejuvenate your cells,
To detoxify,
To bring peace into your day.
Sink into the position that you've chosen for this meditation.
You don't have to be formal,
You don't have to be sitting up straight.
Be comfortable in your body.
Find a bit of rest that feels good and natural for you.
And as we sink in deeper,
Let's take a deep breath in together through the nose.
Deep breath in and out through the mouth.
Deep breath in.
Out.
Deep breath in.
Out through the mouth.
And now for the next rounds of breath,
Just breathe in through your nose and out through your nose.
Find your gentle rhythm like waves on the sand.
If you want to make your breathing audible,
That's totally fine.
Often we don't breathe deeply enough.
We take short shallow breaths which only builds anxiety and pain in the body.
By becoming still like you're doing now,
You give yourself the chance to fully breathe,
To notice your breath,
To notice your heartbeat,
To notice the systems in your body that are supporting you and loving you in this life.
It gives you the chance to not only notice them but to send love back to them so that they can function at their highest level too.
It's a cycle of taking care of yourself and your body taking care of you.
Keep breathing.
Settle in.
You can do a scan from the top of your head all the way down to the tips of your toes.
If you find that your mind is wandering a bit much today,
Just slow it down and focus on each inch of your body section by section.
With every breath you fall more deeply in love with yourself,
With everything that you've been through,
With how you've overcome struggle and pain and regret.
You're focused now on your true strength,
Your capabilities.
Keep breathing.
If you need a little extra help settling in,
You can release your jaw,
Let it drop down and remove your tongue from the roof of your mouth.
This activates the vagus nerve which sets your body into healing and restoration mode.
You can do this actually whenever you like if you need a little help with grounding.
So keep breathing and when it's time I'll bring you back.
Oftentimes life can feel overwhelming.
We can feel trapped but you always,
Always have the power to reclaim your power when you connect back to your breath,
When you can ground into yourself and then see the world from that point.
Things aren't happening to you.
Oftentimes they're happening for you in your own evolution and we tend to make better choices,
Better decisions when we can slow down,
Connect with a full breath,
Understand where our emotions might be coming from and then act or not act at all.
It takes an extreme amount of self-awareness and work really to get to that point and it's never over but you can definitely get better at it and by doing meditations like this,
By connecting to who you really are,
Not your name,
Not your profession,
Not your location in the world.
You're creating a foundation of strength and deep intuition and inner knowing that's going to serve you for the rest of your life and trickle down into the lives of everyone that you know and love either directly or indirectly.
So from the bottom of my heart,
Thank you for joining me.
Thank you for doing this work.
It might seem simple but I think it's revolutionary.
So until next week,
Take care of yourself and your loved ones.
Namaste.
