Too often, we are goal-oriented. We think about the results, the next thing to do, to accomplish. We focus on the destination and not on the journey itself. We do, do, and do, and we forget to be.  In this short and sweet meditation, allow yourself to just be. Relax, feel your breath and your body. Enjoy the journey as much as you thought about the end goal.

Too often we are goal-oriented.

We think about the results,

About the next thing to do,

To accomplish.

We focus on destination and not on the journey itself.

We do,

Do and do,

And we forget to be.

Can you allow yourself to just be?

Can you allow yourself to enjoy the journey as much as the goal or accomplishment?

Think about a project or goal you are currently working on.

How often do you get stuck in your head thinking about the end result?

For the next few minutes I invite you to forget about the results and shift your energy to simply enjoying the process.

Take a comfortable seat and close your eyes.

Start deepening your breath.

Breathe all the way down to your belly.

Establish a deep,

Smooth abdominal breath.

Notice the inhalation rising and the exhalation falling.

Inhalation the belly rises,

Exhalation the belly falls.

As you allow your breath to deepen,

Start bringing your awareness into your body.

Notice what is present in your body right now.

What sensations are you experiencing?

Do not try to force anything,

Just allow the experience to unfold.

Can you enjoy being in your body?

If a sensation arises,

Notice it and feel into it.

Have the intention to experience the sensation fully and maybe even notice how it changes as you stay focused on it.

Take a moment to sit with your breath and the sensations.

Notice how you experience and the feeling you have in your body changes together with the breath.

Now come back to your project or goal you are currently working on.

Maybe it is a work project,

Maybe a personal goal like improving your health or losing weight.

Maybe it is working on calming your mind and meditating daily.

Whatever it is,

For a moment forget about the destination and think about a part or aspect of this work you are mostly enjoying.

Notice the sensations in your body as you reflect on that.

Keep on coming back to your body and to your breath.

Even if it is a difficult project and the journey to get there filled with obstacles,

The process will be much easier and enjoyable if we allow ourselves to just be and take in the experience fully.

The desire to get there is the drive and your body is the vehicle.

So can you allow yourself to be in your body and enjoy that experience?

Can you enjoy the ride?

Think about the aspects of your process that you really like.

Think about the part of your process you may miss once the mission is accomplished.

How often do you find yourself actually missing an experience while during that process or experience all you could think about was the end destination?

Remember each moment and each experience is unique.

Life is now.

So allow yourself to fully experience it,

To be in the moment and enjoy it.

For the next minute stay present with your breath and in your body.

Just be and enjoy this experience.

If you like,

Stay in this meditation for a little bit longer and if you are ready,

Open your eyes.
