Let this gentle silent sitting meditation help you slow down, quiet your mind, and reconnect with the peaceful rhythm of the season. Through simple breath awareness and mindful pauses, you’ll learn how to rest in stillness and let go of distractions. Expect to be guided into a comfortable posture, invited to notice your breath, and supported in returning to presence whenever your mind wanders. By the end, you’ll feel grounded, calm, and refreshed—like you’ve given yourself a nourishing reset in the middle of your day. Music by Christopher Lloyd Clarke

Hello,

Friend.

The naturally slows us down.

The days are shorter,

The air is cooler,

And nature prepares for rest.

And yet,

In our busy lives,

We often resist stillness,

Filling every moment with noise or distraction.

Let's take a moment to be still now,

Because stillness is not empty.

It is restorative.

We'll be practicing silent sitting today,

And I'll guide you into the stillness,

Then allow space for you to simply be.

Ready?

We start by finding a comfortable seat.

Sit tall,

But relaxed,

Hands resting gently.

Close your eyes if you wish.

Although,

I find closing my eyes helps me from being distracted more easily.

Ready?

Take a few slow breaths and be fully in this moment,

Completely here.

Notice the weight of your body.

Feel the rhythm of your breath.

Now allow yourself to simply sit in stillness.

Thoughts will come and go.

That is natural.

When they do,

And they may distract you,

Gently return to your breath.

If your mind wanders,

Just return to your breath.

When you're ready,

Bring awareness back to your body.

Wiggle your fingers and toes.

Take one slow,

Deep breath and slowly open your eyes.

Bringing yourself back to the space around you.

I know stillness can feel extremely challenging when you're first doing it,

But it's one of the most nourishing practices that you can give yourself.

I invite you to find one more moment of silence,

Be it 30 seconds,

Just a pause in your day to simply be.
