Do you ever travel from point A to point B and when you arrive, wonder how you got there? Not physically, perhaps but asking yourself, "where was my head the entire time?" Meditation offers the time for the mind to reconcile the thousands of thoughts we have in a single day. When we clear the mind first, we are able to see more detail in our world, present, alive and awakened.

Hello,

Welcome,

Opulent mindfulness.

Today's meditation is entitled,

I Must Have Walked By Here 100 Times.

I must have walked by here 100 times.

So the other day I was walking the dog in the morning for the hundredth time the same way this year.

But only that day did I notice how two trees were intertwined in such a way that made me visualize a man hugging a woman.

She was leaning into him,

His right arm was outstretched and these two tree trunks were simply twisting around one another,

Supporting,

Loving,

Shining,

Dancing,

Tender,

Embracing one another.

Now I've walked by these trees a hundred times but only that day did I actually see.

I wasn't staring at my feet,

I wasn't caught up in a thought about who said what,

What I'm gonna do later today.

I was there,

Present.

My mind was open because my thoughts had filed themselves away from my earlier meditation.

My sight was not clouded with noise and clutter.

I was able to go beyond the daily drudgery and task and getting things done and move into a space of creativity and artistry and appreciation for the simplicity around me.

And two weeks later here I am recording a meditation on it so it made that much of an impression on me.

Who's to say what we're missing out on seeing each day in the very simple observations in life.

So come to your comfortable seat here and now and we'll get this done so you can go out and see all the beauty around you.

Drop into your body,

Press down and lift your heart high,

Take a big belly breath in and a longer soothing breath out.

Just sit in the stillness being in the body.

As your thoughts come to mind,

Recalling your interactions for the day,

Days before,

Years before,

Lifetimes popping up in a single moment.

Notice and release and just await the next one.

Resting the brain,

Resting the body and the more we practice we can notice a bodily response to a thought.

A thought with flavour is an emotion.

These emotions have a rainbow of flavours and we simply notice our bodily response awakening to our being more and more.

Where did you go?

Come back into your body,

Softening the eyes,

Heavily sitting in stillness.

Seeing the next thoughts and inner dialogue.

Notice the body as you're going through the process.

Softening,

Dropping into ease,

Shoulders melting back,

Spine upright,

Muscles ungripping.

How are you doing with the new thoughts that come in?

Notice again,

Tune into the body,

Dropping back into ease and stillness.

Take your time to be present and witness.

Nestling into your cozy space.

Snuggling up to a good movie,

A good book that is your mind.

Offering all kinds of imagery,

Dialogue,

Characters and role playing.

Take your time.

Be here,

Going through the process of thoughts,

Getting organized.

Without effort,

Let them do their thing.

Breathing in and breathing out.

Your sole job is to be a silent witness.

Neutral witness.

An objective and loving witness.

Take your time.

Let all the noise come up.

All the residue,

All the legacy,

Thoughts and experiences and remnants from moments before days,

Months,

Years before.

If they come up,

Notice and release.

Notice if you're not finished with anything.

Maybe something continues to pop up.

There it is again.

Thank you for making yourself known.

And release.

Notice if there's any tone with your inner dialogue.

Thank you.

Speak kindly to your inner voice and it will respond in kind to you.

Notice any stirrings in your heart.

Choose to move into a state of acceptance for all that is as it is.

So you may step into the next and the next and the next with clarity and ease.

And you can see for yourself the lovers in the trees.

Namaste.
