Like running a marathon, practicing meditation every day is helpful. A runner does not wake up on day one and sprint five miles. An expert meditator does not sit for hours without first sitting for a few minutes. Come to this short track every day as you grow your practice.

Welcome to your meditation practice.

Begin by finding stillness.

Sit comfortably or lie down if you prefer.

Let your hands rest gently.

Your eyes soften or close completely.

Take a slow,

Deep breath in through your nose and exhale through your mouth.

Let the breath remind you,

You are here right now.

As you settle,

Remember this truth.

Meditation does not have to be long or perfect.

It's not about clearing your mind or reaching an arbitrary goal.

It's about returning again and again to yourself.

Each day,

Even for a few moments,

You can pause,

Breathe,

And remember your own presence.

This is your practice.

Simple,

Steady,

Alive.

Now,

Notice your breath as it moves naturally.

No effort,

No control,

Just breathing.

Each inhale,

A gentle arrival.

Each exhale,

A soft release.

If your mind wanders,

That's okay.

That's what minds do.

Simply notice and come back to the breath.

Like returning home after being away.

Feel into this rhythm.

This moment of awareness is your daily act of care.

You are building a quiet strength.

One breath,

One pause,

One day at a time.

Take one more slow breath in and exhale fully.

As you return to the room in the moment and open your eyes,

Carry the simple intention with you.

Each day,

I return to myself.

And that's all we ask as people that meditate.

All we ask of ourselves is to come back with love and presence.

Listen to this meditation or another if you'd prefer.

Every day,

Build upon your practice until it is natural.

And comes easily.
