Namaste,
Welcome beautiful souls.
I'm so grateful you're here for this chanting circle.
Let's create a gentle sacred space to ground ourselves and connect to the energy of the earth today.
Today we will explore the stability,
Trust and inner strength,
Anchoring into the root chakra,
Our center of grounding,
Belonging and the basic life energy.
We will chant intuitively for about 15 to 20 minutes and I'll also play the muladhara singing bowl,
Allowing the vibration to support a deep connection to the body and to the earth beneath us.
So like always you're invited to chant along,
Hum softly or simply listen and receive.
Please take a comfortable seat on the chair or on the floor,
Wherever you feel stable and grounded.
Close your eyes if that feels safe and comfortable for you.
Feel the ground beneath you,
Solid,
Steady and supportive.
Let your spine rise naturally,
As if rooted from the base and gently lengthening up through your crown.
Relax your shoulders,
Relax your jaw,
Allow your whole body to soften.
Bring your awareness to your breath,
Feeling it flow in and out,
Gently anchoring you into your body,
Anchoring you in your pelvis and the base of your spine.
Let's take a few breaths together.
Inhale deeply through the nose and sigh it out through the mouth.
Again,
Deep inhale and a long exhale,
Letting go of any tension.
Once more,
Inhale and exhale.
Now allow your breath to settle into its natural rhythm,
Gently flowing in and out through your nose.
Feel your breath expanding down into your belly and pelvis and sense grounding,
Stability and calm unfolding from your base.
Take a moment to listen inward and gently set an intention for our chanting practice today.
Is there something your body or soul longs for?
Perhaps more stability,
Trust,
Safety or deeper connection to the earth?
Or is there something you're ready to release like fear,
Tension or restlessness?
Hold your intention gently in your heart and feel it grounding into your base as we prepare to chant.
Beautiful!
Before we dive into chanting,
Let's connect a bit deeper with the energy we are working with today.
The root chakra called muladhara in Sanskrit sits at the base of your spine.
It's your energetic foundation,
Your anchor to the earth.
This chakra governs our sense of safety,
Stability and belonging.
It's where we draw strength to meet the basic needs of life,
Where we feel connected to our body and to the earth.
When the root chakra is in harmony,
We feel grounded,
Supported,
Calm and safe.
We feel at home in our body and in the world.
When it's out of balance,
We may feel anxious,
Unsettled,
Disconnected or physically tense,
Like we have lost touch with our base.
The sound LAM helps to awaken and harmonize the root chakra.
It's deep vibration grounds the body,
Calms the nervous system and reconnects us with our inner strength.
As we chant,
You may imagine warm red light glowing at the base of your spine,
Gently radiating downward and into the earth,
Like roots growing from your body into the ground.
You can also visualize yourself sitting on the earth,
Fully supported,
Or imagine a lotus with four red petals gently opening at the base of your spine.
There's no right or wrong experience.
Simply let the sound work within you and trust that you are supported.
If you would like,
You can also make a gentle hand gesture,
A mudra.
This one is called the earth gesture,
Prithvi Mudra.
To practice it,
Gently touch the tip of your thumb to the tip of your little finger and let the other fingers extend naturally.
You can rest your hands on your thighs or knees,
Palms facing down to support grounding or palms facing up to receive stability.
This mudra can help you connect with the element of earth,
Bringing a sense of balance,
Rootedness and support.
Feel free to try it during our chanting or simply rest your hands in any way that feels grounding to you.
Before we begin,
Let me guide you through how to chant Lam.
It starts with a soft,
Grounded L sound,
Followed by an open,
Steady A and ends with a gentle humming N.
And if you like,
You can bring the tip of your tongue for the L sound just behind your upper front teeth.
There is a tiny strip of skin with many nerve endings.
You can just tap the tip of your tongue for the L sound there.
I'll also play the singing bowl and I will play it now so that we can find the right tone together.
Let the sound help you drop deeper into your body and feel supported by the earth.
Let's try chanting Lam together three times now,
Allowing the sound to vibrate gently in your body.
Let's inhale,
Relax your legs and the base of your spine.
Let's take a few gentle breaths here,
Noticing how the sound and vibration settle into your body.
And when you're ready,
We will flow into the full chanting together.
Allow the sound to flow naturally.
Simply follow your breath and the rhythm that feels grounding for you.
Whenever you feel ready,
Allow the mantra to rise naturally from your breath,
Flowing steadily and deeply like a stream anchoring you to the earth.
Feel any sense of heaviness,
Warmth or stillness.
Feel your connection to the ground and the quiet strength within you.
Allow yourself to be held by the earth,
Steady,
Supported and safe.
Gently allow your breath to deepen,
Slowly coming back.
Invite gentle small movements into your fingers and then bring your hands gently together in front of your heart.
Let's close with an intention for the day.
May we walk through this day feeling grounded,
Safe and supported.
Carrying the calm strength and steady rhythm of today's practice into everything we do.
Gently rub your palms together to create some warmth and place them softly over your closed eyes.
Open your eyes into the warmth and darkness of your palms and then slowly lower your hands.
Welcome back.
Thank you for chanting with me today.
Thank you for being here.
I wish you a wonderful day ahead,
A wonderful evening if it's your night time and a good night if it's your night.
Namaste
