Allowing yourself to settle into a comfortable position.
Letting your eyes gently come to a close.
In life,
We often find our mind chasing after the future,
Believing that happiness is just around the corner with each success or milestone achieved.
Allowing the following saying to settle in your mind.
Sitting quietly,
Doing nothing,
Spring comes and the grass grows by itself.
Allowing your attention to rest on your body in this moment.
Noticing the points of contact between your body and the surface beneath you.
Feeling the weight of your body being supported in this moment without effort.
Like a tree stands tall and still.
Allowing yourself to simply be here,
Grounded in this moment without effort.
Allowing your awareness to rest on the flow of your breath.
Feeling the air entering your body with each breath in and leaving your body with each breath out.
Allowing each breath to be our teacher for letting go.
With each breath in,
We are receiving,
And with each breath out,
We are releasing.
Noticing that the flow of life is ever changing,
But always present.
Feeling our breath as it is,
Knowing that there is nothing to do to change it in any way.
Teaching us how to accept life moment by moment.
Noticing your thoughts as they arise.
Observing any thoughts of future plans or goals to be achieved.
Noticing what feelings these thoughts carry with them.
Is there anxiety or excitement?
Perhaps even a sense of urgency.
Observing these thoughts like clouds in the sky.
Passing through the sky without changing the nature of the sky.
Learning to see thoughts as thoughts allows us to understand that they are not permanent.
With time,
They always pass away.
Leaving our true peace intact and ever present.
Allowing your attention to be aware of any emotions that are present here with you in the moment.
Perhaps there is anticipation or restlessness about the future.
Noticing that these emotions are also passing,
Like waves in the ocean.
Emotions too rise and fall away,
None lasting forever.
Allowing yourself to be here with your feelings without grabbing them or pushing them away.
Noticing that these feelings arise and pass away naturally.
Allowing yourself to sink deeper into the experience of just being here in this moment of stillness.
When you notice your mind wandering back to planning for future successes,
Gently,
With kindness,
Allowing your awareness to rest on the ever-present flow of your breath in this very moment.
Noticing that getting caught up in thoughts and then returning back to the present moment is the essence of this practice.
Each time,
Allowing you to step back into your true nature of peace in this very moment.
Gently bringing your awareness back into the room and the space around you.
Allowing your body resting on the surface beneath you without effort.
Allowing a moment for yourself to acknowledge the feeling of simply being present here and now.
Recognizing the courage that it takes to sit with what is,
Rather than chasing what could be in the future.
As you prepare to continue the rest of your day,
Remembering that each moment is complete within itself.
You too are enough just as you are right here and right now.
As you feel ready,
Gently allowing your eyes to open.
