Welcome to this practice of yoga nidra.

Settling into a comfortable shape,

Supporting the head and legs with a pillow and covering the body with your blanket.

Traditionally on your back with arms resting at your sides.

Know that just being here is enough.

This is your time to regroup and invest in yourself.

Your health,

Energy,

Well-being.

Know there's nothing that you need to be that you're not already.

You are and have always been whole.

Knowing you are in a safe space,

Taking the seat of observer,

You will witness this journey.

Although intentional triggers will invite release of old belief systems,

You will safely remain in the seat of witness.

Take a moment to comfort yourself.

Close your eyes.

Settle into your mat or the surface you were on.

Allow your hands to fall to the sides and feel held as your mat,

The earth below you,

Softens and cuddles you.

There's no wrong way to be.

Whatever feels right for you.

So become aware of the space around you.

Listen to the sounds in the room.

Feel the clothes on your skin.

The air as it passes along your face.

And feel the temperature of the air as it fills into your lungs.

Feel the weight of your body as your body grows heavier,

As it sinks into relaxation.

There in a place of deep relaxation and comfort,

There is nothing to do.

Simply follow my voice.

Just as the moon in all its phases,

The flower blossom guides us how to live in balance,

Fully embodying each phase of our life.

In this life,

Death,

Life cycle,

The young flower rises from the earth and forms its bud in the phase of maiden.

Its transformation is already underway.

And as the petals emerge,

Spreading to the sun in the full fertile phase of the mother,

She nourishes all who visit her,

From the butterfly,

Hummingbird,

The determined bumblebee.

As the bloom begins to wane,

Returning to seed and to the ground,

The crown phase shares the wisdom gained through the journey.

Just as the cycle of death comes,

So does the rebirth,

As seed goes to ground to once again emerge from the earth.

As you remain aware through this practice,

Welcome surrender to just be in this moment,

Exactly as you are.

As your heart reunites with soul,

The song of the heart rises.

The vow of truth becomes one as it guides you true and strong along your journey.

Embrace it,

Hold it,

Welcome it.

You are Sankalpa.

Sankalpa is you.

Where in your life is there struggle?

Perhaps a feeling of lack,

Financial struggle,

Need.

Peeling back the layers behind this emotion lies the need for security,

Safety,

And support.

Your Sankalpa could be,

I am safe,

Or I am secure,

Or I am supported.

If you have struggled to feel worthy,

Then shifting to I am worthy,

Stating your Sankalpa concisely and with conviction,

Carries a powerful positive energy.

Claim it as it is already so.

Fully commit to believing in your Sankalpa.

Let it rise within.

Feel it spread through the whole of you.

Receive this knowing so strongly.

Embrace this truest form of healing as you speak it now three times.

I am,

I am,

I am.

Stating to yourself now,

I am practicing Yoga Nidra.

I will remain awake.

Shifting your awareness now into the right side of the body,

Landing in the right hand.

Awareness moves in to the right hand thumb,

Second finger,

Third,

Fourth,

And the space between the fingers.

Now the back of the hand,

Around the wrist,

Moving up the forearm,

Through the elbow,

Upper arm,

Shoulder,

Down the right side rib,

Across the waist,

The hip,

Pelvic bowl,

Moving down the thigh,

Pulling through the kneecap,

Down the shin,

Around the ankle,

And across top of foot,

Through the heel,

And the sole of the foot,

Moving into the right big toe,

Second toe,

Third,

Fourth,

And fifth,

And the space between the toes.

Shifting awareness throughout the whole right side of the body,

Whole right side,

Awareness throughout the whole right side of body,

Then bringing that awareness across,

Now landing on the left side,

In the palm of left hand,

Into the left hand thumb,

Second finger,

Third,

Fourth,

And fifth,

The space between the fingers,

Now the back of hand,

Around the wrist,

Moving up the arm,

Through the elbow,

Upper arm,

Shoulder,

Down the left side,

Across waist,

Through the thigh,

Kneecap,

Shin,

Around the ankle,

Top of foot,

Through the heel,

And the sole of the foot,

Moving into the left big toe,

Second toe,

Third,

Fourth,

And fifth,

And the space between the toes,

And now the whole left side of body,

Awareness moves into the whole left side,

Left side of body,

And shifting down to both heels,

Right and left,

Moving under the calves,

Right and left,

The soft under knee,

The backs of the thighs,

The glutes,

Lower back,

Middle back,

Upper back,

Across the back of the shoulders,

And moving up the base of the neck,

Vertebra by vertebra,

Across the back of the skull,

To the top of the head,

And awareness washes down the forehead,

Across both eyebrows,

Right and left,

Both ears,

Right cheek,

Left cheek,

Both eyes,

Nose,

Right nostril,

Left nostril,

And the space just under the nose,

Into the top lip,

The teeth,

Roof of mouth,

Under the tongue,

Inside right cheek,

Inside left cheek,

Tip of the tongue,

Bottom lip,

Chin,

Jaw,

Down the throat,

Across right shoulder,

Left shoulder,

Down to the heart space,

The upper belly,

The soft lower belly,

Pelvic bowl,

And feeling the full front side of the body,

Now back side of the body,

Feel just the legs,

Now the arms,

Awareness to the right side body,

Left side body,

Now the whole body at once,

Sense into the whole body,

From head to toe,

Whole body awareness,

And sending awareness back into the space of the chest,

As we feel the chest expand on the breath,

Contract on the release,

Feeling the movement here,

Caused by the natural breath,

Expansion,

Contraction,

As the breath breathes you,

Begin to count the breath,

Starting at 108,

Working backwards down to 1,

Breathing in,

108,

Breathing out,

108,

Breathing in,

107,

Breathing out,

107,

Continuing on your own,

And if you lose count,

Just begin again,

Focus on counting the breath,

Counting down to 1,

Counting this beautiful breath,

Counting breath,

Release the counting now,

Letting it go wherever you were,

Bring the awareness back to the center of the chest,

Enjoy the movement of the chest as it expands on that breath in,

Releasing on the breath out,

Beautiful,

Nourishing prana as it comes into the body,

Release of all that we no longer need on the breath out,

Feel the whole body move with the natural breath,

Whole body expanding with breath,

Expanding your awareness once again,

Feeling the space around the body,

As the whole body expands on inhale,

Feel the space around the body being moved,

Whole body contracting with the breath,

Feeling the sense of space around the body being moved,

Sensing the space and the movement around the body caused by the breath,

Sensing the movement,

And taking the seat of observer,

As awareness is everything,

Maintain the witness,

Knowing you are safe as we travel the emotion layer of Manomaya Kosha,

If you can't feel or see,

Imagine what it would be like if you could explore how this could feel in your body,

Bring your awareness to the center of the chest,

Start to feel the sensation of cold within the body,

The body sensing coolness,

Dipping in temperature,

Shivering,

Contracting,

Release cold and feel the sensation of heat come into the body,

Body becomes hot,

Expanding,

Sweating,

Warmth throughout the whole of you,

Shift into the sensation of heaviness,

As though you are sinking into the ground,

Sinking heavy,

Heavier and heavier,

As body pulls down and release heavy,

Come into a sense of lightness,

Lighter,

Floating up,

Lighter than a feather,

Feel the sensation of floating,

Feel the sensation of disappointment coming into the body,

How do you experience disappointment,

Release now and feel forgiveness,

Sensation of forgiveness,

Expanding energy of forgiveness,

Feel the sensation of fire,

Fire as the body heats up,

Skin smoldering,

Flames all around,

Fire,

Now an arctic blast douses those flames,

Cooling you,

Cooling you more,

Settling into coolness,

The body asleep as the mind remains alert,

In your mind's eye,

Using your imagination,

As we travel,

Vijnanamaya kosha,

The wisdom layer of the body,

Tuning in to the space between the eyebrows,

The chidagash,

Hear a guitar strumming,

An eagle circling high above,

The sensation of being hugged,

The taste of spicy salsa,

The fragrance of spring lilacs,

Sacred geometry,

Thunder cracking in the distance,

Hands in prayer,

Hands in prayer,

Hands in prayer,

The soft muzzle of a horse,

The taste of a dill pickle,

The smell of freshly buttered popcorn,

Birds chirping,

Church steeple,

Fields of pink flowers as far as you can see,

Pink flowers as far as you can see,

Pink flowers surrounding you,

Walking barefoot through these flowers,

You are wearing a long,

Flowing top,

Made out of the softest cloth,

Caressing your skin,

Dancing along the path,

Hands hanging at your sides,

Fingertips brushing the petals as they transition to all types of wildflowers,

Lining both sides,

The sun high in the sky,

The blooms reflecting back luminous colors,

A pleasant breeze wafting by,

Your nose filling with the luscious,

Fragrant floral scents,

And stepping through a beautiful archway,

Opening up to a field as it spreads out before you,

Full of delicate flowers,

Butterflies flitting about from bloom to bloom,

The buzz of honeybees hard at work as they coat themselves in the dense pollen deep within each flower,

Birds sharing their song,

And your eyes take in the mandala of colors,

Reds,

Yellows,

Blues and oranges,

Purples,

White,

And there's honeysuckle and foxglove,

Bee orchid,

Daisies,

Fireweed,

Lupins,

Crocuses,

Wild lilies,

Roses,

All randomly growing in their chosen spots,

Yet the chaos of it forming a pattern,

It is peaceful here,

The wonderful chaos of colors,

Fragrances,

All blend into a peaceful,

Metal bliss,

Meandering through as the feet sense the soft earth textures below,

This space brings sheer bliss,

Overwhelmingly beautiful fragrance,

Kaleidoscope of colors,

Warmth of the sun,

You recall to sink down,

Become enveloped by the beauty as you settle onto your knees,

Your head just visible above the height of the blooms,

All senses intensify,

Beckoning you to settle all the way down as you lay back in this magical meadow,

You're cocooned by the soft blooms,

This sense of hovering among the blooms,

And giving in to the urge to float in this floral wonder,

Hovering soft and light,

The petals brush against you with the intoxicatingly delicious,

Beautiful sense,

Releasing the last of any stress,

The body sways,

Delicate femininity,

All matters of time and space,

Lost as you are here,

In this moment,

Complete safety,

You can let go,

No need to do,

To be,

Just this moment,

A stirring within your soul calls you,

Allowing you to soften,

Giving you permission to release the need to do,

To achieve,

From proving your worth,

It's okay to just be,

Slow down beautiful,

Listen to the song of your heart,

You don't have to travel it alone,

Release the control,

Connect back to your feminine,

She is soft,

Full of ease,

Come back to her,

There's no need to force or control,

Make space to just be,

Your heart has messages for you,

If you can be still to hear them,

Open your heart to a softer state of being,

Sink in here,

Reunite with universal consciousness,

Hear the call of your heart,

Claim your sankalpa now,

Stating it,

I am,

I am,

I am,

Let it spread throughout the whole of you,

As this has always been your truth,

Come back home,

Land in the softness,

Your divine sacred femininity,

Live your sankalpa,

And return to quiet as often as possible,

Listen to your beating heart,

Hear the wisdom that has traveled over many lifetimes,

And lives within you,

Know it,

Trust it,

And let go of the need to control,

How will your life be when you live your truth,

Allow yourself quiet here,

Exploring the bliss layer of Anandamaya Kosha,

You will be called to return when it's time,

Let it go here,

Returning from your travels,

Arrive back in your body,

Feel your denseness return,

Connection of the earth to your back,

Prana flowing within you,

Feel the air upon your face,

As your senses return,

Welcome back sacred one,

The practice of yoga nidra is now complete,

Such a beautiful way to begin the practice with the “life” of a flower. Tamara, all my thanks for another amazing journey - you are a spectacular teacher.

"Slow down, Beautiful." Deep body scan, not as fast as traditional yoga nidra, but not too slow either. Wonderful, incredible sensory/visualizations! Dig it! Very occasional, very soft (undisturbing) background noise that was serendipitous when being called back from the kosha of bliss.
