Hi and welcome to an explanation on PMR,
Progressive muscle relaxation.
This is truly one of my most favorite exercises that I partake in every night before I sleep.
As soon as I hit my bed it's like I'm next to my animals,
It's super cozy and comfy,
But sometimes my head won't shut off or maybe my body just needs to wiggle a little bit so it can settle in comfortably.
I think progressive muscle relaxation really helps you become in tune with your body to gain awareness.
That mind and body connection,
It really just essentially marries the two.
I think it's something great for everybody,
It's worth a shot and it's something that has truly helped me that I'm a fan of.
If I'm scanning my body every night,
Tensing up a muscle and then releasing it,
I start to build that good habit to check in with myself daily.
Whether I'm in line at the grocery store,
Maybe I'm sitting in traffic and I just feel a little stressed,
Strung out or something kind of hits me,
I notice where I'm holding this tension and when we start to notice we can start to combat those areas in a way to help alleviate any stress,
Tension,
Pain,
Anything that's going on.
It could be even energetically,
Emotionally,
We all hold in different areas and by practicing this we get more in tune with ourself.
I truly love practicing PMR.
I don't think it's out there enough and it's something that I definitely want to push out for you guys more.
I also came across the story a few years ago of some friends in the military.
This is something said to be practiced by Marines and I think it's something that we need to share with more people because a lot of people in this day and age are just working so fast-paced to keep up with the world that just spins and doesn't sleep.
We need to have this way to unplug and reset ourselves.
We need to have a routine,
An initiation into a deeper level of sleep.
By gaining this awareness we can help induce a more peaceful pattern for our body to become part of a normal regimen.
So I hope that you join me for some progressive muscle relaxation and I hope that you also search more progressive muscle relaxation and then eventually it becomes a very healthy habit for you.
Wishing you all the best.
Namaste.
