Hello and welcome to this week's guided meditation for emotional digestion.
To begin,
Get nice and comfortable.
Sit somewhere quiet where you won't be disturbed and can completely relax and let go.
Let your hands come to rest in your lap or on your legs.
And close down your eyes.
On your next inhale,
Find lift through your spine,
Reaching up through the crown of your head.
And as you exhale,
Relax your shoulders away from your ears.
Inhale find lift and length.
And exhale,
Relaxing your shoulders,
Your jaw.
Once more,
Lift up and expand on your inhale.
And relax on your exhale,
Softening all the edges of your body and being.
Let your breath be natural and easy here.
Coming to a place of gentle stillness.
Allowing all your thoughts to dissolve.
Simply listening to the sound of my voice.
Relaxing deeper and deeper.
Beautiful.
Your natural state is one of perfect balance,
Harmony and ease.
A state where you feel light in your body,
Clear in your mind,
Present in your now and excited about life.
If you're not feeling this way regularly,
That's okay.
By starting to open yourself up to the light of day and process what's going on within you,
You will clear your vessel and come back into your full power and aliveness.
Just like our food needs to be digested,
Our emotions do too.
Emotional digestion is a very natural process.
And if we don't get in the way by tightening,
Judging or pushing away our feelings,
It happens effortlessly and automatically,
Just as your physical digestion does.
The true nature of energy is freedom and movement.
It's not designed to be stored and compressed in dark corners and it becomes maladaptive when it does.
The beautiful thing is,
You don't need to go back into every childhood trauma and release it.
You just need to address and feel where you're at now.
Your now holds all that you are,
All that you've been and all that you will become.
As you release and find greater freedom here,
Just dealing with what's in front of you,
You shift both the past and the future.
Allowing emotional digestion to take place is very simple and natural.
Really a willingness to be present to what you feel as it arises.
Notice it,
Be with it in a state of spacious and non-judgmental allowing.
Use the choice to feel it and breathe through it and not pushing it away or calling it wrong.
Your emotions are for you in every case.
They are gifts.
When you allow it to take its natural course,
Moving through your body,
Moving through your energy field and eventually being released back to life,
You will maintain a healthy emotional atmosphere without any stock or dense energy lingering in your field.
This process of movement and release is natural and doesn't need to be managed by you.
All that's required of you is your honest,
Loving presence to see and acknowledge your emotions as they arise and allow them to move through you.
As this becomes a habit,
Especially when you're experiencing strong or uncomfortable emotions,
You will naturally clear and release any dense energy in your body with ease.
It doesn't need to take a lot of time,
But it's not to be rushed either.
Let everything unfold and happen on its own perfect timing with love and spacious grace.
Let's practice here together now.
Big inhale.
Slow exhale.
Heighten your presence by becoming vividly aware of your body.
Feel the aliveness of your body.
Become vibrantly aware of you and your body in this moment.
Notice the overall sense or tone of your mood.
How are you feeling right now?
What's the weather of your emotional being like?
Are there any areas of tightness?
Is it spacious?
Are there any lingering uncomfortable senses in the background?
Perhaps a slight numbness in certain areas?
Just pay attention to how you're feeling without needing to label it.
Let your awareness naturally be drawn to what feels most vivid or meaningful.
Where do you feel this emotion or sensation in your body?
What does it feel like?
Stay open.
Stay curious.
Shine your awareness like a flashlight upon it.
Address this feeling or sensation with your full presence.
Be with it fully.
Breathe into this area and keep the light of your open awareness and curiosity upon it.
There's nothing to be afraid of here.
Feelings and sensations are just energy formations.
Any sticky or stagnant energy you feel desires to be free and liberated just as much as you desire it to be so.
Stay present with this feeling.
See it with your full awareness and more than that,
Be with it through your spacious presence.
Offer a silent prayer of intention towards the feeling that you're here to offer healing and you're not going anywhere.
Treat it like a small child,
Be loving and gentle.
Don't try to make anything happen.
Just let it unfold and digest on its own in the spacious light of your loving awareness.
Breathe,
Be spacious,
Relax.
Continue to let your emotion or sensation rest in your loving gaze as you simply be with it.
Awareness has a transmutational quality to it and all is brought to right order under its spacious,
Loving,
All-encompassing gaze.
You can speak to the emotion,
Soothe it with soft words like,
It's okay.
It's okay that you are.
It's okay to feel this way.
Continuing to keep your awareness upon it,
Washing it in love,
Allowing it to open up,
Dissolve,
Expand,
Move through you or simply remain a little longer.
Perhaps speaking the words,
I see you and I love you.
I'm willing to set you free,
To allow you to move through me.
I'm here for you and I will not forsake you.
All is well.
Take a big inhale and exhale fully with a sigh.
Once more just like that in and out.
Relax.
Consider completely.
You did so well today and I'm so proud of you.
You chose to show up and you were present with your feelings.
There's nothing more you need to do here.
You can trust that it will take care of itself in the perfect way at the perfect time.
Moving forward,
Pay special attention to moments in time where strong emotions are activated.
And if you can,
Take a moment to step away and sit in silence.
Simply breathing and being with the emotion,
Letting it be felt and digested fully.
And then allowing the energy to wash and move through you without gripping,
Pushing or judging.
You deserve to feel open and free.
The more you honour your emotions in whatever form they arise,
The more they will honour you.
Providing countless gifts and understanding as you navigate your life journey.
By staying spacious and open to your emotions,
You get to dance with them and ride their currents into greater streams of joy,
Self-expression and wellbeing.
Take a moment to place both hands over your heart and honour yourself here.
