Welcome to Day Two of your Quest! "Not all who wander are lost." - JRR Tolkien Today is day two of your Quest! Imagine yourself throwing open the front door and running down the path to join your companions, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, and eager to start the adventure. But before you can walk down the path, you need to pack your backpack. What resources or supplies might you need on your journey? A walking stick, a cloak, some stout boots, some tools, or magical items? What do these symbolize in a meditation practice? Well, it's up to you and your unique journey but here are some suggested resources you might want to consider to set you up for success on this Quest: A designated meditation zone, an altar for sacred items, incense, chimes or singing bowls, breathing techniques, stretching or mindful movement, and an eye mask.

Welcome to day two of your meditation quest.

Today is about gathering your internal resources for your meditation quest.

The tool that you will be using in your meditation today is the tool of noticing.

Noticing what you are feeling,

Noticing what you are thinking,

And noticing what you are sensing in the world around you.

Get into a comfortable seated position a space that you have prepared for meditation.

If you would like to use one of your resources that Rosie mentioned,

Some incense,

A chime,

Now would be a great time to get that.

Close your eyes and start by noticing your breath.

As you notice your breath,

What does it feel like?

Breathe in and breathe out.

Notice the temperature of your breath in your lungs.

Notice the feeling in your arms as you breathe.

Notice the temperature of your breath as you breathe in.

When you inhale,

Does anything in your body change in a feeling sense?

When you exhale,

Does anything in your body change in a feeling sense?

Right now,

You are building the internal resource of feeling.

What else can you feel?

Can you feel the weight of your body?

Can you feel the way that your clothes touch your skin?

Notice what it feels like to be in a feeling state,

To use your resource of feeling.

Now switch to thinking.

Think about your breath.

Think about what's going on inside your lungs.

Think about the clothes on your skin.

Think about the fabric.

Think about the color of your clothes.

Think about where you purchased your clothes.

Think about the color of your skin.

Think about where you purchased your clothes.

Think about putting on your clothes today.

Notice the experience of thinking.

Notice what it feels like to think.

Now switch to sensing.

Sense the room around you.

Sense what might be going on outside of your walls.

Notice the experience of sensing outside of yourself.

Notice the experience of sensing outside of yourself.

Do you sense safety?

Do you sense excitement?

Do you sense stress in your surroundings?

Notice what you think you sense.

Notice what you feel.

Move to feeling.

Feel the temperature of the air around you.

Move to thinking.

Think about the temperature around you.

And switch to sensing.

What are you sensing is in the air.

As you sit in meditation,

Can you change your focus at will?

Can you choose the way that you use your quest tools?

Can you choose to think?

Can you choose to feel?

Can you choose to sense?

If you catch yourself thinking and the thought does not feel good,

What tool would you like to choose instead?

What resource would you like to ally?

What resource would you like to ally in this quest?

Let's move to feeling.

Can you feel your heart beating?

Can you still the thoughts of your mind and focus your clarity to the beating of your heart?

Notice if you switch to thinking automatically.

Notice if any changes in environment made you switch to sensing.

And come back to choice.

Come back to the presence of your breath.

Which internal resource feels the best?

Feeling,

Thinking,

Or sensing.

Which one brings you closer to your inner being?

Which one brings you peace?

Which one brings you stillness?

Which one brings you activation?

Which one brings you alertness?

Which one brings you clarity?

Every internal resource that you have gathered for this quest will help you on your journey.

Building a relationship with your internal resources will help you deepen your meditation quest.

For the next few minutes,

Choose.

To notice when you are thinking and to change.

To notice when you are sensing and to change.

And to notice when you are feeling and to change.

Do it lightly,

Without force.

Allowing your focus to shift.

Allowing your internal experience to change.

Knowing that you hold the power and you hold the keys to your transformation.

Notice what internal resource you are currently using.

And switch to feeling.

Feel your lungs expand as you take a gigantic inhale.

As you relax with an exhale.

Bring your attention and your awareness to your body.

Feel yourself present in your body.

And when you are ready to come out of your meditation,

You may open your eyes.

When you are ready to come out of your meditation,

You may open your eyes.
