Hi,

I'm Laura Stuckel from Team SAGE.

Thanks for joining me.

This audio serves as an entrance meditation for a journal writing experience.

This visualization meditation will guide you to connect with your intuition and then capture your thinking in your journal.

We will be using a quote from the beloved author,

Buddhist teacher and nun,

Pima Chodron,

As an inspiration for the meditation as well as a springboard into journal writing.

To get the most out of this meditation plus journal activity,

Please make sure to have a comfortable place to sit for a few moments.

Have your favorite pen and journal or a laptop nearby.

When the entrance meditation is done,

I'll silently end the session so you can transition into your journal writing on your own.

Please take two preparation steps now to facilitate that transition into journal writing.

First,

Set your timer now for five minutes.

At the conclusion of the entrance meditation,

Just start the timer when you're ready and begin your writing.

Setting a timer actually distracts the everyday thinking part of your brain and encourages the more intuitive side of the brain to take the pen.

For the second prep step,

Take time now to ready yourself for wisdom writing at the conclusion of your journal write.

Tapping the wisdom within you comes from rereading whatever you have written and then adding a line or two of your own reflection,

Observing whatever feelings,

Physical or emotional response in your body or any follow up action ideas that come to you.

You may wish to write the words reread and reflect at the top of your page now as a reminder to conclude with a reflection,

Right?

Let's begin the meditation now.

I will guide you through all the steps to relax,

Experience the meditation,

Then write and reflect in your journal.

Take a moment to get comfortable.

Shake your hands,

Roll your neck,

Or take a little stretch if it suits you.

Close your eyes and take three deep,

Slow breaths on your own count.

Now take the last deep breath in,

Hold and release.

Continue to relax into your body and your breathing.

Now let us absorb the wise words of Pima Chodron.

You are the sky.

Everything else,

It's just the weather.

Repeat her words to yourself.

You are the sky.

Everything else,

It's just the weather.

You are the sky.

Everything else,

It's just the weather.

As you repeat these words to yourself,

Allow yourself to visualize what they mean.

Allow yourself to experience them.

Allow yourself to float in safety and at peace.

To float gently to the sky.

You notice that you can see the tops of the trees.

Now you can see all of the hometown where you live.

You are floating upward carefully,

Taking in more and more of the horizon.

You have floated to a place where you can take in the beauty of the whole earth all at once.

And you notice,

You notice from this lovely vantage point that you have become the sky.

And everything else is just the weather.

You notice the sunshine.

You notice the rain.

You notice the rainbow.

You notice the storms.

You notice from this beautiful vista that weather shifts.

Weather changes.

Weather is not good.

It is not bad.

It's just the weather.

Linger here for a moment.

Notice the shifts.

Notice the changes.

Notice that it's just the weather.

And when you are ready,

We'll transition into journal writing.

Gently begin to wiggle your fingers.

To wiggle your toes.

To stretch where it suits you.

When you are ready,

Take a deep breath and slowly begin to open your eyes.

When you are ready,

Begin your journal entry by writing the words,

I am the sky and following your pen wherever it takes you.
