Evening Practice Of Deep Rest
Contrary to popular belief, rest is not a reward; it's your birthright. Increasing our awareness of what our body needs roots us within our bodies. Permit yourself to release resistance and fully surrender to what happens moment by moment.

Hi,
This is Sonia with the evening practice of deep breaths.
Take a moment to take a nice deep breath in through your nose and exhale through your nose.
Take notice of wherever you are in your position,
Whether you're sitting in a chair,
Lotus posture,
Or lying down.
Allow this practice to support you as you settle down for the evening.
Take a moment to feel into your body and draw your awareness from being solely in your head and a deep sense of thinking thought to be present within your body.
So allow yourself to completely fill in to all the spaces within your body,
From the crown of your head all the way down to the sole of your feet.
And just allow your body to come to a complete rest in stillness.
And just feel into the natural rhythm and flow of the breath.
And just breathe.
If it feels right for you,
Either lower your gaze or bring your eyes to a close.
As we close our eyes or lower our gaze,
Take a moment to redirect our attention from out in the world into our inner realm.
The source of our energy is all comes from within out.
So by closing your eyes and sinking in reconnecting with your natural state of being,
Enables you to reconnect to source and to settle your body down.
It also allows for you to shed all the different energies,
Densities,
And heaviness from the day before you prepare to retire for the evening.
Whether you're opting to go to sleep or to just take some time to rest before you drift off.
Honor yourself with stillness.
Take a few moments to really notice where your awareness is and center your awareness on the flow of the breath.
Observe how the body is breathing.
Oftentimes we have an awareness that the body is breathing,
But our mind is focused on other things outside of what's going on within our physical body.
So as you turn inward,
Allow yourself to truly become one with the flow of the breath.
Feeling the breath as it enters in through your nostrils through the inhalation.
Feel it as it infuses your lungs.
And how naturally when you've taken in all that you need,
That the body instinctively exhales and releases all that is not of service to the body.
So as you rest and come into a more still state,
It supports your nervous system to settle down.
And much like when we observe the breath and come to a state of stillness,
The mind often has a tendency to follow that same respect.
The being that the mind is always active,
Busy going from one thing to the next,
Multitasking and all those different things,
Bringing the mind to a more calm state can take practice.
So whether you are new to the practice or you're fairly experienced,
The mind tends to have a mind of its own.
So exercise patience and grace with yourself should the mind go into a drift and drift off of the flow of the breath.
So as you sit to go deeper into a state of stillness,
An observation of all the things that are flowing through your awareness,
Gradually or gently begin to release any of the things that you may have carried with you.
Any emails that may be lingering within your awareness that you need to return or other responsibilities and obligations that perhaps you didn't quite get to or get checked off your to-do list for today.
So just allow that much in the same way that you're exhaling,
Releasing and not holding on to what you're releasing.
Allow that to just dissipate into the ethers.
And you're more than free to pick it back up when you are ready to begin whatever task that is that is calling you.
But in these moments that are ours together,
Just allow your awareness to fall away from those things.
Much in the same way as an onion has its layers,
Allow the layers of the day,
Those densities or things that may have led you to feel disconnected from your real true self and caught up in any of the things of daily life that may have you feeling a sense of strain.
Any feelings of guilt or any of those different feelings that may have made you feel that perhaps there was something you could have done more to top off the day.
Just breathe into whatever feelings are arising for you.
Release any urges or habits to attach,
To become attached to any of those feelings and internalize it.
Allow yourself to just observe it much as you would a movie as something that's just passing or evolving and unfolding on a screen that you're watching.
Just observe whatever is rising up and coming to the surface.
Allow yourself to see and observe it and accept whatever it is.
Acceptance is an agreement.
It's just seeing something for what it is without trying to resist or change it.
So just observe and breathe through it.
There are times where as things rise up,
It may carry a degree of emotion along with it or some energy that may make you feel any number of ways.
So should you feel any resistance,
Rise up.
Just breathe through it.
Breathe through it and allow it to pass by.
Much like the clouds in the sky,
Observe it,
Watch it change shape until it disappears or dissipates into the ether.
As you continue to breathe,
Notice that as the body is breathing,
You may also feel a gentle flutter within your heart space.
Knowing that beyond the perception of a flutter,
Your body is being supplied with every single thing that it needs to thrive in these moments.
Continue to release layer by layer,
Reconnecting to your real true self.
Beyond any illusions of not enoughness or any feelings or experiences that made you feel,
Allow it to release.
Affirm at the top of the next breath,
I am enough.
I am worthy.
Feel into the sense that you are more than enough.
Always have been,
Always will be.
No matter what the world may tell you,
Past experiences and hurts,
The illusion of insufficiency is just that.
Beyond all of the roles we play,
All of the identities that we have as we're interacting in the world,
Lies a perfect being.
As you continue to sit,
Feel into the truth of your being,
That there is nothing missing.
There is nothing you need to be added unto you.
From the moment you entered into this earthly plane,
You were already loaded and coated with everything you could possibly need,
Hope,
Wish,
Or desire.
So as you continue to settle in,
Feel into the energy and the truth that all of your needs are met,
And that you are enough no matter what the day may have led you to believe.
You are enough,
Always have been,
Always will be.
So continue to feel into the breath,
And know that you are loved and supported beyond measure.
I would like to extend my gratitude and appreciation for you dropping into practice.
Your mind,
Body,
And spirit all thank you.
Thank you,
And have a great night.
