If you are feeling any discomfort or dis-ease in your body, use this meditation to help guide you to relief. It starts with grounding into your body and into the earth. Next you do a body scan, taking time to notice what you are feeling in our body - not just discomfort or tension. You then move into an awareness practice to help the energy release.

Hello,

This is Shana.

And welcome to this meditation for releasing discomfort or dis-ease.

Go ahead and take a deep breath.

Just getting settled into this moment.

Preparing for this meditation and connecting with my voice.

I want you to imagine there's a long silver cord running down your spine out of your tailbone.

And this silver cord goes deep down into the earth,

Anchoring you in to the heart of Mother Gaia.

You feel safe and grounded.

And we'll begin moving your awareness to your toes.

We will do a body scan,

Noticing what you feel in your body.

Moving up the feet to your ankles.

What sensations are you noticing in your body?

Moving up the legs to the knees.

Any stiffness or tingling?

Up the thighs to the hips?

Any pinching or buzzing?

Moving your awareness up the buttocks,

Around the pelvis and up your low back and abdomen.

Do you sense any contraction or pain?

Moving your awareness over your kidneys,

Intestines and spleen up to the stomach and mid back.

Any pulsing or spinning or throbbing?

Rising up further through the ribs,

Liver,

Lungs and heart.

Any tightness or aching?

Putting your awareness now on your fingers.

Moving up your hands,

Your wrists and your forearms.

Over your elbows and up the arms to the shoulders.

Any soreness or swirling?

Moving now along your upper back and neck,

Your throat,

Up your jaw,

Over your face and head.

Any tension or tenderness?

Just settling into your seat,

Still anchored into the earth by that silver cord.

Move your awareness to any place that felt tight or sore or uncomfortable.

And just be there with it.

Observing and breathing without trying to analyze it,

Change it or make it go away.

You're just surrendering to the sensations in your body.

Staying out of your head and keeping your awareness on what's happening in your body.

Really tuning in to that soreness,

That discomfort,

Whatever it might be.

Just give it your full presence.

You're not trying to name the sensation,

Just describing the qualities of it and surrendering to the present state.

Good,

You're doing great.

Just continue to tune in and keep your awareness on that physical sensation.

Now put your hands on this part of your body.

If there's a sore spot,

Try pressing on it or holding it or rubbing it.

Maybe it feels good to tap your fingers on it.

Break up that energy or maybe massage it a little bit.

Don't be afraid to touch your own body.

Acknowledging there are messages in your body and being willing to give it your presence so it can release and move on its way.

It's all just energy.

I encourage you to give yourself this gift on a regular basis to assist the flow of energy throughout your body.

And if it feels right,

You can stay here longer,

Just giving your presence to the sensation in your body,

Whichever one is most intense.

But if it feels complete,

Go ahead and stretch.

Maybe shake it out a little.

Tune back in and just notice if it feels different,

Feels less intense,

If you feel like you're feeling better.
