Join Rev. Skip Jennings for a breath-expanding meditation that gently guides you into a deeper space of calm and connection. Using the rhythm of a 4-6-8 count breathing pattern, you’ll learn to stretch your inhale and exhale, activating a sense of ease, clarity, and inner spaciousness. As the breath lengthens, you’ll begin to release mental tension, soothe the nervous system, and open the heart to stillness and grace. This practice is perfect for moments when you need to slow down, reset, and realign with your highest self. Let each breath be a bridge to your spirit, expanding your capacity to be fully present and fully alive. Transformation is a choice, and you can choose today. Namaste.

Welcome to Breathe With Me.

I'm Rev Skip,

And this is a series of pranayama practices so that we can become aware of when and how we're breathing.

Today's meditation is called controlled breathing,

Or what I like to call stretch the spirit.

Think about this.

Your breath is the representation of your spirit.

So,

As we expand the counts of breathing,

We're actually expanding our spirit.

So I invite you to find a comfortable place.

You can do this breath meditation seated or lying down.

I simply want you to relax,

Be comfortable,

And simply breathe.

And today we're going to expand the breath through the counts.

We'll simply count as we breathe in and count as we breathe out.

We have three rounds of breathing today.

The first round will be a count of four,

Then we'll move to a count of six,

And we'll finish with a count of eight.

I want to invite you not to judge yourself.

Pranayama is a practice.

And as we practice more of the breathing,

We become more familiar with how we breathe.

So judgment-free and just simply breathe.

Go ahead and close your eyes,

Lower your gaze to your heart,

And let's simply breathe.

Inhale,

Big breath.

Now exhale,

Release your breath.

We begin with a count of four.

Inhale for one,

Two,

Three,

Four.

And exhale for four,

Three,

Two,

One.

Go back to your normal rhythm of breath for your recovery.

Beautiful.

Let's do that count of four again.

Inhale for one,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Hold the breath.

Now exhale for four,

Three,

Two,

One.

Return back to your normal breathing for your own centering and recovery.

Now we move to six counts.

Inhale for one,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Six.

Hold the breath.

Slow exhale for six,

Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One.

Full release of the breath.

Return back to your normal rhythm.

Let's do the six counts one more time.

Inhale for one,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Six.

Hold the breath.

Exhale slowly for six,

Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One.

Exhale,

Release all the breath.

This is our final round in this meditation.

We're going to move on to a count of eight.

Remember,

Only love and compassion.

No judgments.

Here we go.

So inhale for one,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Six,

Seven,

Eight.

Hold the breath.

Exhale for eight,

Seven,

Six,

Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One.

Full release.

Let's do one more round of this practice.

And remember,

It's called practice for a reason.

You're practicing becoming aware of your breath.

Let's inhale for one,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Six,

Seven,

Eight.

Hold the breath.

Release eight,

Seven,

Six,

Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One.

And full release.

Let it go.

So let's just take a breath together.

Inhale and exhale.

And today I know that this breath might have stretched beyond your limits.

It is a practice.

It's an endless practice.

I invite you to wiggle your fingers,

Your toes,

And slowly open up your eyes.

Come back into the space and simply be aware of how the body's feeling in this space.

So let's give a little gratitude for our practice today.

Thank you so much for joining me on this practice.

I'm Rev Skip.

And remember,

Transformation is a choice.

You chose today.

You showed up.

Remember,

Simply breathe.

Namaste,

Y'all.
