This Yoga Nidra is a sacred invitation to embody the fullness of your being under the nurturing energy of the new moon. As the outer world quiets, you are gently guided inward — layer by layer — to reconnect with your breath, your body, and the radiant presence within. The new moon is a time of stillness, renewal, and intention. This practice supports you in softening into that space — releasing what has passed, and resting in the fertile unknown where new visions take root. Let go. Listen inward. Bloom quietly beneath the dark sky. Music by Chris Collins

A Yoga Nidra for embodying the fullness of being.

In the dark of a new moon,

A vision stirs.

Welcome.

Come to lie down in your Nidra Nest.

Take a moment to truly arrive,

To let your body rest into the support beneath you.

Adjust your blanket,

Cushions,

Your shape,

Cover your eyes if you wish,

Until you feel held.

Feel the earth rise up to meet you.

You don't have to hold yourself together here.

Let the ground do the holding.

Let the breath begin to soften.

Let the mind begin to settle.

Let just being here be enough.

This is your time.

A sacred pause in your day.

An invitation for the timelessness and fullness of your being to gently wash through you.

A moment to rest,

To listen,

To return to yourself.

There is nothing to do,

Nowhere to go.

Just this moment.

Just this breath.

Now feel the support beneath you,

The ground,

Your Nidra Nest,

The breath moving in and out.

Notice where your body touches the earth,

The weight of your bones,

The warmth of your skin.

There is no need to change anything.

If it feels accessible,

You might sense into a place in the body,

However small,

That feels steady.

Let this place be your anchor,

A refuge,

A reminder you are here,

You are safe enough to rest into this moment.

We are resting together under the quiet power of this new moon,

This fertile,

Liminal dark.

A time when the sky is empty,

Yet full of possibility.

A time for planting seeds,

Not with force,

With trust in what will take root beneath the surface.

Let yourself feel into this dark inner soil,

The gentle turning inward,

The reflective mind making space for the intuitive knowing to rise.

This is not a time for pushing or figuring things out.

This is a time for receiving vision,

Not from the mind,

But from the depths.

And so,

From this place of rooted stillness,

You are invited to welcome a sankalpa,

An inner vow or seed of truth.

Let it rise slowly,

Like a whisper from the dark.

Maybe it comes in words,

Or maybe as a felt sense,

Or a shape,

Or a sound,

Or a knowing in the body.

You might offer,

I am open to receiving insight that is aligned with my deeper truth.

I rest in the wisdom of the unseen,

Simply allowing,

Receptively.

Your body knows.

The seed is planted in the dark,

And that is enough.

And let it rest now,

Gently,

Quietly.

We shall return to it.

And we begin our journey inward.

Begin by bringing awareness to your body,

The sacred vessel,

This living shoreline between breath and earth.

Feel the support beneath you.

The ground meeting the back of your head,

Your shoulders,

Your hips,

Your heels.

Each place of contact a quiet reminder you are held.

Allow your body to become heavier,

As if with each exhale you are softening deeper into the ground beneath you.

There is nothing to hold you up right now.

The earth knows how to carry you.

And if you wish,

Begin to imagine the body as a body of water,

Still,

Expansive,

Resting beneath the influence of the new moon's dark sky.

This darkness is not empty,

It is full of becoming.

It is the fertile void where new life stirs quietly beneath the surface.

You might feel the body like a tidal pool at low tide,

Gathering wisdom from the deep.

Resting in stillness,

Open to the mystery.

Now,

Let's gently move awareness through the body,

As if your attention were a wave slowly flowing through.

Begin at the crown of the head.

Feel the wave of awareness move down to the forehead.

Softening the space between your eyebrows,

Cheeks,

Jaw,

Release.

Let the wave drift down the neck and shoulders,

Melting tension like moonlight on water.

Down through the arms,

Elbows,

Hands,

Fingers.

Every part touched by gentle awareness.

Now the chest,

Rising and falling gently like a tide drawn by the unseen moon.

The belly,

Soft,

Spacious,

Moving without effort.

Down through the pelvis,

Thighs,

Knees,

Shins,

Ankles,

Toes.

Let them dissolve into stillness.

Now expand awareness to the whole body,

As one fluid,

Luminous whole,

Still,

Receptive,

Deeply held.

And now bring your awareness to the breath.

Not to control it,

But simply to notice it.

Feel the gentle rhythm of life moving through you.

The breath rising and falling,

Like waves lapping softly at the shore.

You might imagine the inhale as a tide moving in,

Filling,

Nourishing,

Spacious.

And the exhale,

The tide drawing back out,

Clearing,

Releasing,

Softening.

Let this rhythm be effortless,

Breath as ocean tides,

Breath as moonlight in motion.

Sense now into the energy body,

Subtle,

Shimmering,

As sensation,

In the body and beyond the skin.

Feel your breath stirring this field,

Pulsing through it like waves of light.

Can you notice where energy flows freely,

And where it's quieter or denser?

There's no need to change anything.

Just feel what's here.

Each breath a current,

Each breath a bridge,

Let it all move at the pace of trust.

Now gently shift your awareness from the breath to the thoughts and emotions moving through your inner space.

Just as the tides rise and fall,

So too do our thoughts,

Feelings,

Sensations.

They are part of the rhythm,

Not a problem to solve,

But a current to witness.

You might begin to notice the mind as a wide open sky,

And thoughts as clouds drifting through,

Some light,

Some heavy,

But all passing.

Or perhaps you feel more like a river with emotions moving like currents,

Some fast,

Some still,

Some known,

Some mysterious.

If anything arises,

Memories,

Feelings,

Residues from a recent journey or life experience,

Simply notice,

Allow.

There is nothing to fix,

Nothing to resist,

Just waves on the surface of a deeper sea.

Now soften your awareness toward the heart center,

The center of the chest,

As if placing your inner attention there like a warm hand.

Let this be a sanctuary,

A sacred refuge,

A space vast enough to hold it all.

Here in the heart you might offer,

Even this belongs.

All parts of me are welcome here.

Let whatever is unresolved rest here too.

There is compassion here,

Spaciousness,

The gentle holding that does not rush or push,

But simply allows what is to be.

You do not need to understand anything right now.

Feelings are allowed to ebb and flow.

Thoughts are allowed to float through.

Let the sanctuary of the heart hold what the mind can yet not make sense of.

Let it be a cradle for the unknown.

You are resting in your own inner ocean,

Still,

Vast,

Utterly wise.

And from the sanctuary of the heart,

Let your awareness expand outward now,

Gently,

Without effort,

Into a deeper space of inner knowing.

Sense yourself resting beneath a vast,

Moonless sky.

The tides calm.

The waters still.

Held under the velvet sky of the new moon.

The dark of the new moon,

Quiet,

Still,

And full of unseen potential.

A sky that appears empty,

But holds the entire cosmos within it.

This darkness is not emptiness.

It is full of life just beginning.

A womb of becoming.

A sanctuary of the unseen.

Let your awareness rest here,

Open,

Spacious,

Wide.

Nothing to figure out.

Nothing to do.

And within this fertile silence,

You may feel it.

A first shimmer of something quietly forming,

Stirring in the depths,

Readying to take form.

A shimmer in the dark.

A whisper beneath the surface.

What is ready to be seen now?

What truth is stirring beneath the surface of my being?

Let your body receive the answer,

Not through words or interpretation,

But through sensation.

Resonance.

A deep inner yes.

Perhaps a symbol appears,

Or a feeling,

Or a knowing too subtle to name.

Let it arise in its own time,

Like moonlight touching the surface of a still ocean.

You don't need to reach for it,

Just allow.

Just be with what emerges.

Now let yourself slip even deeper,

Beyond breath,

Beyond thought,

Beyond sensation,

Beyond form,

Into the spaciousness that holds it all.

Slip into the current of stillness beneath all waves.

Here you are the ocean itself,

Vast,

Luminous,

Aware.

You are the quiet between tides.

Here in the vastness of your being,

There is no effort,

No identity to hold,

Just stillness and presence.

The unnameable joy of simply being.

You are not just held by the field,

You are the field.

A quiet radiance that arises when you simply are.

This is the field where vision lives.

Not as something chased,

But as something remembered.

The seed of vision has been planted.

You are the ground in which it grows.

Let this be your homecoming to the luminous dark that births the light.

And simply rest here now,

As silence in the fullness of your being.

From the stillness,

Let yourself now drift back towards the surface of the ocean of waking awareness.

Gently call awareness back through the layers,

From the field itself,

To insight,

To emotions,

Thoughts,

To breath,

To body.

Feel the breath again.

Let your next breath be a little fuller.

Feel its rhythm.

Sense the energy body that subtle hum just beneath the skin.

Notice thoughts and feelings that remain and hold them with care.

Feel the weight of your body,

The bones on the ground beneath you.

Without any hurry,

Bring your awareness into your fingers and toes,

Welcoming in gentle movements.

Return slowly,

As if from a long,

Sacred journey.

Perhaps place one hand on your heart and the other on your belly.

Feel what remains present here within you.

Ask gently,

What do I carry back with me?

Is there a word,

An image,

A felt sense of that which wants to be carried forward?

What might I nourish from this experience?

There is no rush to understand.

Let it integrate in its own time.

You may linger here as long as needed.

Then slowly return,

Renewed,

Aligned.

Stay here resting or slowly begin to rise and return to your seat.

This yoga nidra is now coming to a close.

May the stillness you touched remain with you.

May the vision you glimpsed root gently into the soil of your being.

May your breath remember the tides and your body recall the safety of surrender.

As you rise from this practice,

May you carry the peace of the inner ocean into all the waves of your life.

You came in silence,

You return in wholeness.

Not separate from the world,

But more deeply woven into it.

Go slowly,

Go softly.

Let what was received continue to unfold.

Namaste
