Especially from an energetical perspective it is important to release stuck, frozen and blocked trauma from your field in order to not constantly be re-triggered by outside circumstances or people. Welcome to the Soul Incubus Monday show. I'm your host Sonia Bueno de la Torre, And I'm excited that you're here today. Today's episode called Generational Trauma, Get Rid of What's Not Yours. And I invite you to start the show by taking a nice deep breath. Take a nice deep breath. Take a moment to get grounded, To become present, To remove any distractions so that you can be fully present here today. I'm going to start this show today with a question unrelated to the topic. Simply a question for you to ponder to start the show. So the question is, What brings you joy? What brings you joy? Tune into that for a moment. I wanted to simply set the tone for this show first by asking you the question, What brings you joy? So that you can focus on that more. Sometimes we don't even know what that is. Okay, I'm going to let you be with that, And you can ponder about this later, Play with this today on the Soul Infused Monday. And let's dive into today's topic about generational trauma. A few things to give a disclaimer or to put things into perspective. When it comes to generational trauma, Of course there's research and there might be, Scientific proven things. However, I'm not going to share any of that. I don't also expect you to believe anything I say. You can pick and choose what resonates with you. You don't have to believe anything. You can believe everything. Whatever works best for you. I see you as someone capable of making your own opinion intelligent enough to discern if this is valuable for you or not. However, Generational trauma is something that affects us deeply. And most people are not even aware of it. So when it comes to generational trauma, There is research out there. And I'm just going to share one quick piece about, Early research shows, For example, When they asked or researched the children of Holocaust survivors, For example, That they had issues and dying really affects of that Holocaust, Even though they didn't experience it themselves. And of course, If you're someone that wants to have more, The numbers, The statistics, The scientific background, That's not what I am going to share, Because I come from a place of studying this for myself, Doing the inner work for over 20 years. And generational trauma has been a big part of that. And especially this year and the last couple of months, It came like a download to focus more on that and to do some work. And I also created some tools, Combining some of the tools that I've been doing for a long time to actually discover and find out which specific generational trauma are hidden in the system and to clear and release them. Now, What is generational trauma? I'm going to talk a little bit about what is generational trauma, How does it affect you and how can you break the chain? And I'm also going to offer you an opportunity to do some release and clearing and healing of generational trauma later on, On this show. So stay tuned. And if you have any questions, Leave me a comment. What is generational trauma? Generational trauma is a transmission of an event. It could be a historical event, A trauma event, A transmission of energy from one generation to the other. You don't even need to be in that event for it to transfer into your field. It's as if you inherit it. It can affect you energetically, Emotionally, Mentally, Health-wise, And of course, Everything is underneath the umbrella of energy. And generational trauma does not need to be as severe as the Holocaust or war. It can be smaller things, But often generational trauma and those patterns that you come into this world with, Even though you haven't experienced that in this lifetime, Personally, In your physical body can affect you greatly. It can be any family trauma. It can be war, It can be abuse, It can be domestic violence, It can be a severe accident, Natural disasters and catastrophes. There's so many things that happened in the past with generations or your ancestors that keep carrying along. And if you don't break the chain, We also pass it on to our children and grandchildren in the next generation. Now, The good news is you can heal generational trauma, And I'm going to get to that in a moment. Why is this relevant to you? How do you even know if you are carrying any type of generational trauma? From my experience that I have been on this journey of inner work and healing, As myself doing the healing, And also as a coach and therapist for the last 26 years, I've seen that nearly anyone has some level of generational trauma. However, Not everybody is affected the same way. How does it affect you? And why might you want to actually break the chain? I would say it's a no-brainer that you want to be free of it, Not only for yourself, But also for your children and for newer generations. However, There are also real practical and physical and health reasons that you want to clear energetical and generational trauma from your system. It's really only scratching the surface. How does it affect you or your family or people in general? And what could be indicators that you are carrying generational trauma within yourself? Or what could be indicators that you are carrying generational trauma within your system? It can be different things. Certain behaviors and patterns that, Even though you've done a lot of work, Don't seem to clear, Will seem to keep coming back. And I'm talking about a lot of inner work. I'm not talking about you've read a few books and you've had a few sessions. I mean, Like you've been working on something for years and you've done so much, And yet you're still struggling with that. It also shows up often in severe cases of addiction, Anxiety, When you struggle with severe anxiety, Addiction, PTSD, That is not clearing, Even though you're doing the work on something that happened in this lifetime, So to say. That could also be an indicator that it's something that you already came into this life with that was not even your own experience. And there are other patterns and energies and beliefs that are not yours that you're carrying. There's a lot of programming that you feel like you are struggling with, That is your problem, But it's actually not yours. No thought is actually your original thought, Your emotions, Your beliefs, Your programming. It has been absorbed, It has been imprinted. We all go through that. We are all a result of a lot of stuff that we absorbed in this lifetime and other generations passed on and many other things. But I'm just gonna focus on generational trauma today. So that can show up in the ways that I said. It can also show up with physical issues. A lot of people who, For example, Suffer from sleeping disorders or health issues that there are no real reason, Or you don't understand why, Or you keep having issues without understanding or without the reason, Or phobias can also often be from a generational trauma. And anything that is severely stuck and it makes no sense of the intensity of the trigger that gets well triggered from outside circumstances. And then more indicators, But those are just a few. It also affects you by your point or your view to the world and the belief systems that inherited as well. For example, Often generational trauma creates an environment of believing and feeling that you're not safe and that this world is a dangerous place. Even though you might have not experienced it personally. For example, If one of your previous generations or ancestors went through war or went through a terrible disaster and they physically felt threatened and they were in danger, You might have the same feelings even though you have not been in that real danger but you are constantly in a fight or flight response. So your nervous system is adapted to it even though it was not your personal experience. Does it make sense? So these are indicators. Now, Why is this relevant and why is it important to clear and heal that? Obviously, It's clear that you want to feel healthy and you wanna let go of these parts and those energies that are stuck in your system because they're not yours. And if you are not releasing them, You pass them on unconsciously. This happens all unconsciously in the matrix of the energy field. Knowing about it, You're like, Oh yeah, I don't wanna pass this on to my children but it's not a conscious choice. It's not an intentional movement. That happens on a cellular level that is beyond the consciousness in this moment in time that if you don't break the chain, We just pass it on. Now, How do you break the chain? And it's possible. The good news is you can break the chain and you can liberate yourself and you can create space for something new for your own instead of being driven by an old pattern that is not only not yours, But it's not even from this time and space. It's from generations back. And it can go back many, Many generations. I've seen, I give you an example, So something tangible to understand how generational trauma can show up in your life. And I'm gonna use an example with a food sensitivity. That's only one example. But let's say you are toxic to corn, That a lot of people are actually allergic to corn or having a strong reaction when they do eat corn, Whether you know this or not, But I've seen this many times. And by digging a little deeper and looking, Okay, Why is this not clearing or why is this so intense? We discovered that in a generation previously, They had to flight in a war and they were hiding in cornfields. Every time they were threatened and felt like they had to escape and hide, They were hiding, So her ancestors were hiding in cornfields. So being surrounded by corn was stressful, Fight or flight, Anxiety, Fear of death. So all of that was in the field. Now, Even though she never experienced that, She had that allergic reaction to corn because that triggered that generational trauma. I know it sounds crazy. Some people think, Oh, This is hocus-pocus. No, I've seen this and I've cleared things myself over the years, Weren't even my issues. So I just wanted to give you one practical example how a food sensitivity, A severe food sensitivity could even be triggered by a generational trauma. And that is just one. An addiction that doesn't seem to end. And never being able to sleep or having nightmares, And you don't understand why. A severe lack of self-worth or a severe fear of being seen in the world. A severe feeling of it's not safe to be here. It's not safe to speak up. So many, There's so many different variations of this, But any of this could be an indicator that you're dealing with generational trauma. It can persist for decades and generations. Now there are tools that I use when I work, Especially lately, I've combined a few tools and I have a way of testing how many generations, What is the pattern, What is the generational trauma that's coming up for healing? So to peel off the layers, To release that so that you can really break the chain. Now, How to stop the cycle? How do you get rid of what's not yours? Now, First of all, You've got to know that it's not yours. First, You've got to understand that a lot of the issues that you're working with, It's not even yours. And to get to the root of it. So the deeper in the work is important because awareness and then clearing those patterns will change the dynamic and can break the chain. That's why doing inner work is so immensely important, Not only for yourself, But also for future generations. I often say in my belief, As the biggest contribution you can do for a better world is to work on yourself and become a better world inside. Because every individual who is as whole as possible and as healed as possible has a ripple effect the same way in a positive way that it's operating in a opposite way, In a negative way. So if you're carrying these burdens, This belief, These patterns, And you don't work on them, You don't release them, You're not aware of them, You pass it on. So the biggest contribution you can do for a better world is to do the work and to be aware of that and to pay attention, To check, Okay, Why am I doing what I'm doing? Is this mine? Is this not mine? Check in with your intuition. I highly recommend to meditate because I say this basically constantly about meditation is because it gives you an insight within and with that awareness, You can be more aware of what's going on in your life. And if you can do that with your intuition and with that awareness and to connect to the source, It gives you an opportunity to start seeing beyond the layers of the programming. In most cases, You do wanna get professional help because it's very difficult to find or discover generational trauma by yourself. However, If you've done a lot of work and you wanna meditate on yourself or you wanna meditate on it, There are many ways to do that. However, To be realistic, If you wanna clear and heal deep emotional and generational trauma, You will most likely have to get help. Another thing to do in order to break the chain is to first of all, Decide that you want to and to set the intention. Intention is powerful. Intention is the first step that follows attention. If you focus on releasing and discovering generational trauma, You are already on the, It's the first step into going into the energy of releasing and clearing and healing. Intention is powerful. And doing the work and doing, Bringing in general, Understanding that value that Intention has with how I have connected with my emotions from an energetic perspective will also create space. I sometimes when I work with people and I had this incident or this experience not too long ago with someone and that had been constantly that there was such a release and there was as if there was suddenly so much space and time. And for a moment she was like, What am I going to do with myself? I don't even, That feels so foreign. It has been attached to you for so long sometimes that you don't even know who you are without it. And that's exciting and liberating. And at the same time, Sometimes that can even be scary because it's unknown. It's like, Who am I without that stuff? Who am I now that I have the space to connect to who I am? I really am. And there's also a way to check how many generations, Is it a generation, Your mother's side, Is it your father's side? Sometimes we do need to know more about the trauma and need to know the specific trauma. So through testing, Through kinesiology, We can find out and discover. I was called to talk about this because it is bubbling up big time now more than before. That's how I receive it. And because I'm connected to source and tapped into the space where healing can occur, I wanted to also offer something towards the end of the year and in the beginning of the year to help you to ease your pain, To help you to release some of that trauma and to help you to feel more peace within. I would love to know that. Yes, I'm happy to send that to you. Trauma of being a daughter in a family where so many daughters dies as infant. Yes, It's a good example. Family drama can be one. For example, The loss of a child in a previous generation can be very traumatic. And that can be passed on. I actually had in my own family, A case on my father's side that I discovered that had to do with the brother of my father. And that was actually a generational issue as well. And I didn't know that for a very long time until I only learned all these more advanced tools and did the work on it. And how much that affected my father's life. And how much that affected my father. And obviously then it affected me even though I didn't have that experience. So it's very powerful. It's amazing. Either it will resonate with you and somehow you choose no. It is in your system that you feel, Oh, This is resonating with me. I don't know exactly what this is. And obviously I don't know. It's maybe not time for you to do the work. However, If you feel a sense of, Ooh, This could be an issue, Dig deeper because maybe that has been the missing link to one of a big struggle of yours that you have been working for a long time. We are so much more than this experience. And ultimately the healing, Why healing can occur even with generational trauma is because the healing comes from a different place. The healing does not come from the same source in the consciousness down here. Healing comes through intention, Through a higher intelligence and being tapped into that. So if you are meant to heal generational trauma, Trust yourself, It will come. If it resonates with you, It will come up. And I'd be thrilled to help you. My grandmother on my father's side had a baby girl that died and my father's sister had a baby girl that dies. Yeah, It is amazing how generational trauma can affect and also repeat. That's why it's so important to break the chain. And from a medical perspective, They would say that makes no sense, But often we carry on a certain disease, Not because it's genetics of your genes. So that's why you're prone to get it. No, It's a generational transmission. And sometimes there's an emotion attached or a belief attached. And when you clear that, It's not always a guarantee, But I've seen it many times, It can result in healing a certain issue that had been stuck for a very, Very long time. This is it for today.
