Hello,
I'm Gabriella and this is a meditation called Body Earth.
On my spiritual journey,
There was a point in time where I was humbled.
I had spent many years as a truth seeker exploring higher consciousness and learning about different philosophies and spiritual systems such as astrology,
Human design,
Gene keys,
Ancient philosophies like the Vedic system,
Kabbalah,
The gods and goddesses and deities of other religious practices and teachings from all around the world,
From shamanic practices to connecting to the Indian traditions.
And then in 2020,
Things shifted and I was grounded in the UK,
Which sent me on an exploration of these lands,
These homes of my ancestors,
My British ancestors.
And in that process,
There was a humbling,
A rooting in,
A connection with Earth,
Which I now reflect and see as a reconnection to the feminine within me,
And the feminine of the Earth,
Our mother,
Ultimately the mother who is the Earth and who at this time is very much separate and disconnected from us.
And in that journey,
Which took a series of years to integrate,
What I learned was that we must,
Like a tree,
Have strong roots to be able to ascend even higher and reach our potential.
It cannot be done the other way around.
It cannot be done without the feminine or without the Earth to ground us and hold us.
And so in this meditation,
There is a short invitation to connect with the Earth in a way you might not have done so in a very long time,
If at all.
And if you've stumbled upon this meditation,
I would argue that the Earth is calling you to connect with her more and more.
And talking from my own experience,
It is a beautiful reconnection and a beautiful journey to remember that the Earth is not separate from self,
We are part of her.
And when we do remember,
We take care of her and feel a duty to protect her and all the creatures and plant life and humans that tread upon her.
So inviting you for this meditation to take a seated position,
Ideally on a chair or on a mat on the floor,
Somewhere where you can touch the Earth below you,
Whether from your sitting bones or the soles of your feet.
But important that you do touch the Earth.
You may also want to take this meditation outside to lie on the Earth herself or to sit out in the garden or in a park to really connect with her more deeply.
And when you're in a seated position or lying down if you are outside,
I invite you to close down your eyes and simply sitting here in quiet,
Becoming aware of your breath.
Simply noticing it for a moment as you breathe in through the nose and out through the nose.
And with a hand on your belly,
Start to encourage your breath to travel down to your belly and down to your sitting bones and your roots.
Bringing this life force energy down to this connection point to the Earth.
And if you're sitting on a chair,
Imagining this earthly energy is rising up to meet your sitting bones from your feet.
And allowing this Earth energy to meet you there.
And simply breathing here,
Breathing into your belly,
Breathing into your roots,
Breathing into your sexual organs,
Bringing oxygen to this place.
This connection point to the Earth.
This still point of the body.
Nowhere to be,
Nothing to do,
Simply aware of this connection.
Perhaps observing your body,
Any sensations that you feel since connecting with the Earth.
Continuing to breathe down into your belly,
Into your roots.
Drawing up some of this Earth-like energy through your system on the exhale,
On the inhale.
Taking a sacred pause,
Simply to be.
Noticing if thoughts come,
Simply bringing your attention back to your breath,
Breathing down into your belly.
Noticing if it is hard to do so,
If your breath is quite shallow or stuck in your chest,
No need to judge,
Simply aware of what your breath is showing you.
Inviting it to breathe a little deeper into your roots.
And allowing the Earth energy to rise into your body,
As if there is an exchange of energies.
Noticing if you are holding any tension in your body,
Your shoulders,
Your jaw,
Your neck,
Just allowing it to soften.
If you are holding any tension in your arms or your hands,
Or even your feet and legs,
Just allowing that to soften.
Sinking deeper into the Earth,
Continuing to breathe into your belly,
Into your roots,
And exhaling from your nose.
Nowhere to be other than here,
In this moment with the Earth.
Simple,
Quiet,
Present moment.
Feeling this connection of body and Earth,
Earth.
Giving thanks to the Earth for this connection today.
Giving thanks to your body for taking this pause.
