Hello,
And welcome to this meditation on the koshas.
The koshas are the layers of your being,
And within this meditation,
There is an invitation to begin to explore into your layers,
To know your layers intimately.
And when you know your layers of being,
The potential to transcend and to move into your inner light,
Your essence,
Your truth.
And so to begin,
I invite you to position your physical body in a way that feels steady and sweet.
And you might find your way into a seat,
And if that means to be on the earth,
Perhaps it is supported by a chair.
Also a choice to find your way onto the earth,
Whether you are on your back,
Perhaps you are on your front.
And know that throughout this practice,
If at any point you need to shift,
Allow yourself to do so,
To allow your physical body to find ease.
And as you do begin to land,
Allow yourself to do just that,
Land.
Invite your hands and arms to rest easy,
And if you choose,
Allow your eyelids to blink closed.
Transition,
Seeing into feeling,
Your doing into being.
Perhaps even to allow your next few exhalations to be a sigh out your mouth,
An element of doing.
Perhaps a sigh is a way to physically soften your jaw back in and through your throat,
Vocal cords,
Even the musculature connective tissue that then surrounds.
Perhaps your sigh is a way to set aside any thought,
Story,
Your to-do list.
Allow yourself to step into each moment wholly,
Fully,
And completely,
A quality of being.
Begin to feel your physical body,
To feel the edges of your physical body.
Feel everything contained in your physical body,
The matrix of connective tissue and musculature,
The fluidity within your organs,
The density of your bones.
Feel your whole body.
Feel the earth beneath,
Fully supporting your physical body.
To now move beyond your physical body and into a more subtle realm,
And feel the body of your breath.
To feel your breath like water flowing through your physical body.
To follow the flow of your breath and sense its vitality,
Its aliveness.
To feel the ebb and flow of sensation that breath brings into your physical body.
Feel your breath and energy body within your physical body.
To notice how your breath body is lighter than your physical body.
You are moving towards your inner light.
Now move beyond your physical and breath bodies to become aware of your mind.
Begin to notice any thoughts,
Feelings,
Or emotions as they pass through your field of awareness.
Can you allow yourself to step out of your thinking mind and begin to watch your thoughts,
Feelings,
Emotions?
There is no need to settle into or follow any particular thought,
Feeling,
Or emotion.
Can you observe the coming and going of your thought process?
Feelings and emotions are the same.
To watch the coming and going of your feelings and emotions.
Thoughts and emotions are always changing,
Always shifting,
Like a flickering flame.
What do you feel in this moment?
What feelings or emotions are present for you?
Can you begin to sense them in your breath and energy body?
What sensations do your emotions or feelings bring?
Can you begin to sense them in your physical body?
There is no need to judge or create a story.
Observe.
Observe the flow of thought and emotion through the layers of your being.
You are stepping closer towards your inner light.
To now move beyond the awareness of your mind and emotional body and into the seat of wisdom.
To notice the place in you that is your witness.
The non-judgmental observer who has always been watching.
Watching the mind and the rise and fall of thought and emotion.
Noticing the ebb and flow of breath and energy body.
Watching,
Observing the sensations of your physical body.
Aware of your witness.
The one who is always present.
Can you now take a step back into the larger framework?
To invite your awareness to expand beyond your witness.
To become aware of the one who is your witness.
Aware of both the witness and the expanded space in which your witness resides.
To know and be known.
You are moving towards the space of your inner light.
Continue to feel yourself expand outward.
So expansive that you are able to touch upon everything in existence from the stability of the earth below to the vastness of the sky above.
To feel yourself touch the sky while still being firmly rooted into the earth beneath you.
This is your bliss body.
The layer of your being that is always bathed in the light of joy.
The place in you filled with pure and infinite joy.
The light that has always been there.
And will always be there.
This space is the closest layer to your true nature and inner light.
To now go one step beyond and into your inner light.
A place of luminosity and clarity.
Your true nature.
To feel yourself as clear light shining both inward and outward.
Radiating in all directions.
To feel yourself as pure and infinite light.
To allow your light to radiate outward to touch upon every part of your being.
Every layer of your being.
To feel your light shining through all of your layer's bliss body.
The space of your witness,
Wisdom,
And the body of intuition.
To sense your light shining through your mind,
Weaving through your thoughts,
Feelings,
Emotions.
To sense your light shining through your breath and energy body,
Streaming through all of your energy channels.
To now allow your light to shine into the densest layer of your being,
Your physical body.
To sense your light shine through all of your layers,
Purifying,
Cleansing,
Balancing.
To sense your light shine and notice how it connects with all that you are.
Your light that connects with all that is in all time and in all space.
Your light connected,
Unified awareness.
Your inner light is always here.
Always shining,
Forever radiating.
This is your true nature.
And in every moment,
Your task is to recall your inner light and true nature.
The space within that is infinite,
Immortal,
And whole.
The space that connects to all that is.
Divinity in all things.
And all things in divinity.
Begin to feel yourself.
Journey back through your layers,
Becoming more and more grounded as you travel.
Can you feel yourself as the sky,
The unchanging,
Expanded spaciousness,
The one of pure joy?
Become aware of yourself as your witness.
And even aware of the one who is your witness.
To know and be known.
Become aware of your feelings and emotions.
To notice any thoughts as they pass through your field of awareness.
Begin to sense your breath.
Feel your body breathe.
To feel now into your physical body and the earth beneath.
Notice any shifts.
Sense one breath.
Move into the next.
To watch and feel your inhalation pass into exhalation.
Your inspiration followed by your expiration.
A letting go.
To make space to let in.
And as you feel ready,
Begin to invite movement into your physical body.
Maybe a wiggle of fingers or toes.
To rock your hips or head.
If it serves you,
Begin to gather your hands,
Gather yourself into your heart space.
Might take on an Anjali mudra,
The prayer mudra.
Perhaps you stack your hands.
Continue to feel your breath move in and move out.
Coupled with the beat of your heart,
Tuning to this place within that is your aliveness,
Your vitality,
The seat of your essence.
Take a breath in.
Exhale.
Let go with a sigh.
Om shanti.
Om peace.
Namaste.
Jai Bhagwan.
