Anchored,

A meditation for cultivating peace in uncertainty and change.

Through this meditation it's my intention that you find steadiness,

Strength and groundedness within.

Finding a moment just for you,

A time to step away from all that is occurring around you and really be present with what is occurring within you.

Take a breath,

Find a comfortable spot and get ready to reset.

Waves thrash in and out turbulently.

The constant bashing,

Crashing and swaying would unsteady the strongest,

Steadiest unexperienced.

Life,

The ebb and flow,

The chaos and calm.

In Taoism,

The Tao is the unexpected energy of change that is all around us.

B.

S.

Iyengar once said,

Change is not something that we should fear,

Rather it is something that we should welcome.

For without change,

Nothing in this world would ever grow or blossom and no one in this world would ever move forward to become the person they're meant to be.

Life and nature move with change and as human beings,

Change can invoke anxiety,

Uncertainty and fear.

But let's use our practice today to alleviate anxiety and build confidence,

Release fear and find courage,

Embrace uncertainty and grow with and flow with change.

So beginning to connect with the weight of your body,

Noticing the points of contact it has with the floor or the seat beneath you.

Feeling the heaviness of your bottom or your feet.

Feeling the energy begin to move from the mind down,

Down,

Down through the body,

Creating a weight at the base of the spine,

Down to the soles of the feet.

Taking an inhale,

Drawing that breath in through the nose and slowly and steadily exhaling down through the body,

Down the spine,

Drawing the energy downwards.

With your next inhale,

Begin to draw that breath in through the heart space,

Breathing in and out through the center of your chest,

Feeling that chest rise and fall and feel the anxiety and tension release with each exhale.

In this present moment,

You can find peace.

Breathe slowly and deeply,

Fill your lungs,

Expand your possibilities and as you sit,

Begin to imagine that you can lay down an anchor.

This anchor can hold you and steady you during times of change or uncertainty.

Your own place of safety,

A place where you can rest,

Build your strength and be held through life's waves and storms.

Life can feel unpredictable,

Challenging and change can add to this uncertainty,

But what if you can find safety and steadiness through these times,

Allowing you to navigate challenging times,

Anxiety and fear.

The anxiety and fear can come in and rock you,

But they cannot move you.

You are resilient.

Visualizing that anchor dropping deeper into the earth beneath.

You push and pull of the ocean,

The dance of surrender and control of life.

The anchor embeds deeper,

The stronger the challenge you face.

The wind may blow,

The waves may rock you,

But you remain steady.

Feel every breath fill you with peace,

Fill you with courage and steadfastness.

You are present.

You are still.

You are peaceful.

Breathing slowly,

Steadily,

You may feel your body move.

Maybe it moves slowly and gently side to side or in and out.

Just noticing how even in this still moment,

Movement and change are occurring.

Breathe deeply.

You can cultivate inner strength,

Resilience and courage simply by remaining still.

Allow beautiful one.

Allow the mind to still.

Allow your breath and the present moment to support you,

To ground you.

Become the witness.

Breathing that steady breath,

Soothing your soul.

Soon we will be getting ready to draw your anchor back up.

Returning back to the world with new strength,

Stability and confidence.

The simple act of presence.

Being and allowing the chaos to coexist in your world but not consume you.

You are a strong,

Beautiful soul.

The madness of the world will always weave in and out,

But peace can always be found within.

Spending a moment breathing in and out peace.

Each breath expanding peace throughout your body,

Mind and soul.

Noticing how you now feel.

Placing your hands over your heart space,

Taking a few final breaths of peace.

Repeating in your mind.

In this moment I am safe.

In this moment I am peaceful.

In this moment I am still.

Drawing your anchor up slowly,

Beginning to feel your body on the surface that you are sitting or lying on.

Becoming more aware of the sounds around you.

Welcoming in some gentle movement to your fingers,

Your toes.

Taking a big breath in.

And sigh and release.

Gently blinking your eyes open,

Returning back to this space.

Knowing you return to peace.

To stillness.

And safety.

Knowing you can return to this practice whenever you need to find that moment of stability.

With so much love,

From my heart to yours.

Namaste.
