Meditation for loving yourself,
Mind,
Body and soul.
In this meditation we look to develop a love and appreciation for ourselves,
Our whole selves.
Because each part and facet of ourselves is what makes us individual,
What makes us us.
Finding yourself somewhere comfortable to sit or lie down,
Allowing your eyelids to softly close.
With your eyes closed,
Beginning to become aware of your body.
The weight of your body on the couch or bed or seat.
Scanning your body as you begin to breathe more consciously.
Starting at your head.
Beginning to scan your body.
Down from your head,
Through your face,
Your neck,
Your chest.
Your shoulders,
Arms,
Ribs,
Tummy and hips.
Becoming aware of your thighs,
Your knees,
Your shins.
Your calves all the way down to the tips of your toes.
Noticing whether your skin is warm or cool.
Noticing any areas of tension in your muscles.
Your whole body is a beautiful interconnected system of bones and muscles and fascia,
Bloods and fluids.
A fantastic magical machine.
Taking a moment to breathe.
To allow the oxygen to fill yourself.
As you breathe,
Feeling your chest and your tummy rise and fall.
Taking an inhale and pausing for a moment.
Before slowly exhaling.
Again inhaling,
Pausing.
And exhaling.
Creating space within the breath.
Space within your day to slow down and appreciate how incredible you are.
You deserve this time to appreciate you.
Bring awareness now to your thoughts,
To your mind.
What does it look like?
Are your thoughts positive and loving?
Is your mind erratic or calm?
Connecting with thought and witnessing the thoughts as they unfold.
Then taking it back to your breath.
The life force energy.
Again breathing in deeply pausing.
Gently exhaling.
Breathe deep,
Pause.
Exhale.
Allowing the breath to fall into its natural rhythm.
Gentle,
Soothing.
Ebbing to and fro.
I want you now to think about your spirit.
Your emotions,
Your energy,
Your faith.
How does that feel?
Energetically,
How does your body feel?
Pausing,
Reflecting,
Breathing.
We are made up of many bodies.
Mental,
Physical,
Emotional,
Spiritual.
And each one requires love in order for us to feel whole.
To love ourselves fully,
A balance of energy within these areas.
Self love,
True love is not some wishy washy statement,
It's empowering.
Accepting all of ourselves and recognising that we are important.
All aspects of us are important.
And not one more than the other.
For each interconnected part allows us to create depth and strength.
Breathing in slowly.
Exhaling slowly.
Feeling the breath wash over you.
Connect to the breath.
Allow your thoughts to quieten so you can begin to connect to all of you.
Imagine drawing that breath up from the soles of the feet to the top of the head.
Feel it wash back down through the body.
Then visualise breathing in through the sides and the body.
And exhaling through the sides.
And breathing in the front and back of the body.
And exhaling so you are breathing and drawing the breath in from all angles.
Because accepting yourself from all angles is necessary.
Take a moment to consider which part of you you are currently rejecting.
Do you get annoyed with the body for being ill?
Too fat,
Too thin?
Not flexible enough?
Do you say nasty things about parts of your body?
Do you get annoyed with your frustrated and negative thinking?
Or even getting annoyed with your honest and openness feeling that you say too much?
What about your spirit?
Do you love your faith and spirituality?
Do you hide it from others?
Do you berate yourself for having no energy?
It's time to stop and think of ourselves as whole.
Perfect exactly as we are.
Maybe that excess weight or lack of weight came off due to worries as you cared for a relative.
Maybe that negative thinking came after a period of difficulty.
Maybe you lost your faith after an unexpected event.
It's time to call all the parts back.
All the parts of you back to you.
You deserve to be loved as you are.
You deserve to feel whole,
Balanced,
Aligned and joyous.
It's time to show ourselves the love we would show a child or baby.
Showing ourselves true unconditional love.
Take a moment to think of an area that you're rejecting.
I want you to really bring that to mind.
Then tell yourself,
I'm sorry for rejecting you.
You are part of me and I love you.
Then take another area and do the same.
I'm sorry for rejecting you.
You are part of me.
I love you.
Continue mind,
Body and spirit and as you do this,
Feel what it is like to be truly loved.
You are a beautiful being who is sacred and miraculous.
It's time to honour you and recognise your self worth.
Not loving ourselves is choosing to live a life of suffering.
Let's show ourselves love instead of hate.
Let's open our hearts,
Mind,
Body and soul.
Breathing now into your heart centre.
Drawing in pure gold and light and energy.
Visualise yourself breathing in and out from the space within your chest.
Drawing in peace.
Love self-acceptance.
When we fill ourselves with love and self-acceptance,
This creates an abundance of this energy to share with others.
Think of someone you know who is truly loving.
Do they belittle and speak of themselves poorly?
I doubt that they do because they accept that love is expansive and when we truly embrace ourselves as we are,
The world expands fully.
Repeating in your mind,
I love and accept myself.
I am incredible.
I am exactly where I meant to be.
I am a magnificent being worthy of love.
I love myself and open my heart.
Stay with this heart centred breathing.
Drawing that golden breath powerfully into that space in your chest.
Then allowing that breath to expand through the body.
Allow that golden light to warm and expand.
As you draw that golden light in on the breath,
Allow that light to heal the parts of you that you have rejected.
Allow that light to penetrate and heal every part of your mind,
Body and soul.
Into your cells deep within you.
Expand that light and energy out with your body.
Expand that healing golden light now to your spiritual self,
Your emotional self.
Allow the breath and light to support you,
To nourish you and fill you with love.
And breathe and rest and be.
True love is not egotistical or selfish.
It is necessary.
Our inner life is reflected in our outer life.
Recognise that this reflection has a ripple effect.
When we love all parts of ourselves fully as we are,
We are in peace with ourselves.
That peace within you is reflected outward.
Creating more positive relationships,
More loving behaviours.
Creating a more balanced and beautiful and loving world.
So it is your calling.
It is a necessity that you shower yourself with love.
As you lie or sit for the final part of this meditation,
I want you to visualise yourself being showered with energy.
See that light above your head.
You can pick whichever colour you feel inspires you to feel loved.
Pink or green or gold or blue or white.
Whatever comes to mind.
And see that light above shower you with love.
Feel it wash over your whole body.
Breathing in,
Drawing it closer.
Exhaling through your mouth and sending that loving light out.
Breathing in,
See that light wash over you from head to toe.
Exhale,
Release.
How does it feel to give and receive love?
Gently I want you to bring your hands,
Your palms together and slowly begin to rub them.
Rub them together generating heat.
Warming your hands,
Feeling that energy build,
That energy you're generating.
Then place your hands on your heart.
Feel the warmth you are offering yourself.
You are loved.
You are loving.
Breathing deeply,
Smiling,
Repeating I love and accept all parts of me.
I love and accept all parts of me.
I will give myself what I need.
I will deepen my love for myself,
Mind,
Body and soul.
Wriggling fingers and toes.
Breathing deeply,
Moving your body gently.
Guiding yourself back.
You are magnificent.
